  1. Well i suppose it's a start.  Personally having tried to get back into Thailand using the online application site, it's going to be a long time before any tourists are coming back to Thailand, it's just not worth all the trouble to come into the country and spend money.

They're going to have to drop it back to how it used to be a few years ago and leave off with the gestapo interrogation entrance requirements......

I travelled hassle free in and out of Thailand for nearly thirty years, and what i've witnessed in the last two and half to three years is absolute economic madness........ Which now is coming to light....... Please drop all the hoops and just go back to when it worked......   Vaccines are not quick fix remedy.....

Supposedly it is possible for dogs to catch covid. And if they are constantly sniffing covid infected people it stands to reason they could become infected in doing their job. so, are these dogs regularly tested ? And is it possible to be infected with covid by a covid infected covid sniffer dog ?

Ha ha....... Under the bed with the dog !  We're all doomed ......... Doomed i tell you !

  3. I'm alright Jack....Got me vaccine book, PPE, jumped through all the hoops like a good little circus seal, got more insurance than an astronaut, and am now looking forward to spending my holiday in a smelly dirty little room eating garbage food.......

    Yeah, welcome to the LOS.........

People still are not getting it........  Stop jumping through hoops and kissing the rear end of people that don't want you here.........   Wait till the doors fall off and just walk in, just like it was before when you could cross Thailands borders without the Gestapo interview that is todays welcome.......

  4. Honestly i've completely written Thailand off for years listening to this daily drivel coming out of this lot......  Cyprus, Turkey, Crete, Portugal, are all looking streets ahead of Thailand and SE Asia to be fair......  and cheaper as well.......  What a shame........... Given the goose that was laying golden eggs and they've killed it for Som Tam.........   " Don't laugh at me because i'm a fool ".........

  5. Under the bed, ! under the bed !

In my second quarantine now in Indonesia, 4 more days of a 5 day quarantine, two tests then i'm out, few beers and a scour round the town then back to work......  10,000 bht a quarantine....... lovely.......  Keep the coin coming in until the doors fall off at the border, then it'll be just like walking over the green belt in Cyprus.......       Ghost town, with thousands of emaciated mummified bodies hiding under beds, patiently waiting for the all clear..........

  6. Honestly... ?  A convicted krak head and his mates now condoning selling fizzy pop with the "cool " image of some kind of Bob Marley twist on it all.....   What's next, LSD smarties for kids ?  All this will do is give licence to more serious drug use which i've seen for years in Thailand, i still remember the Yaa baa days in the early nineties.......   Carnage wasn't the word......

Just when you think you've seen it all......

I know one person who got it and was confirmed.  40 year old niece.  She was under the weather for a couple of days and then felt fine.  So physically it wasn't a problem at all.
Mentally and emotionally?  She was sure she had infected everyone who had been in contact with her and she was a mess as she figured that she had possibly killed her mom and other older relatives and their deaths would be all her fault.  She was a mess.  No body else in the family got it.  She recovered, quarantined, then went back to work.

    So yeah.  Covid is dangerous.

How long was the recovery ?   Just out of interest ?

    Fantastic decision! Kudos to you!

When you are not happy in your country of domicile, it is best to move on. Sticking in a place where you hate even the dust that settles on and bickering and swearing 24x7x365 it is useless to oneself and the others! In fact it is downright ugly.

All the best in your future endeavours!

Cheers, that's exactly how i see it. I don't have any need to be back in Thailand at the moment, it's dead, expensive, and you don't know what the lads are going to do next.  Also it's very difficult to make any real decent money in Thailand in my business, although i'm shortly going to be working on a pipeline project just off Sriracha.  ( Probably will not be allowed onshore, but i'm not bothered )

To be quite honest it's been a very necessary "Cold Turkey" episode to get out of Thailand last year to go back offshore and since then i've been all over the world, and believe me there's a lot nicer places that i'd forgotten about around the world other than the old Thailand that a lot of us lived in and loved.....

In the last nine months i've been in Thailand, HongKong, Taiwan, Malaysia, England, Portugal, Turkey, and now Indonesia...... Shortly to be heading back to work off Thailand.

As i say, i've been glad of the break to take stock of my reasons for staying in Thailand, and asking myself do i really want to be treated like a fugitive in country i've lived in for thirty years ?   I'm taking great note of what's happening in Burma at the moment as i don't think this will be a one off in the region......    I'm hoping the winds of change are building up.......  It's needed, or the Thailand i loved will shortly be a distant memory, just like my old favourite bars i went back to in "Lang Kwai Fong" in Hong Kong a few years back that had signs over the doors stating........ " Chinese only "...........

  9. Incredibly the TAT have outdone themselves, i thought the pot was empty .....

Anyway i was always taught to not mock the afflicted so i'll leave you with this little piece of advice from the manual....

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows".  ( Missed out the watches bit )

I reckon that just about sums it all up............
