  1. If you bought it as one ticket with Lufthansa, it's easy.

You check in at International in Phuket and go through passport control there.

Your luggage will be checked all the way to Frankfurt.

In Bangkok you are just in Transit.

Go to the transfer counter for Lufhansa and get your Boarding Pass and then proceed to International departures.

On the return trip, you clear passport control in Bangkok, but it's done in Transit and normally fast. You get your luggage in Phuket.

If G4T is charging 1000 baht I guess it may now be around 500 baht or free, perhaps others can confirm or otherwise.

Crossed wires from RB,it appears it is free although some offices have a receipt free handling charge.

Has anyone recently had stamps transferred to a new passport without having to do a new visa extension?

For the second cycle in a row, I have not been able to get past the first info screen.

    I was using IE.

It worked for me some time ago; maybe last year? But now clearly it's a waste of time.

The system is no longer working. Don't even bother wasting your time with it.

I just tried it (IE10) and it works fine.

thanks for all the replys people, this may not sound good.

We have since been to the police station and the aussie man is trying to charge both of us with theft and he has repeatedly said to the police i work here i work here but my wife said no he does not. The police dismissed his claims immediately so it looks like the illegal working thing does not seem to be going anywhere. But just on that no one pays me anything at all, sometimes i just help her cleaning is that still considered working illegally?. anyway, the safes in this guesthouse are key only, and my wife holds the keys so that isnt a good sign. im 100% sure she did not take his money. the police came and looked at the cameras but couldnt find anything, they also blamed a 3 hour blackout on electricity problems. We are now waiting for someone from the embassy to come to the police station. i will post further when i know what is going on

    thanks

Thank you for the update report.

I was Hotel Manager for 2 years in Phuket and have seen a lot; but not all!.

How did the embassy get into the picture?.

Did the police come to the Hotel before you were called to the police station?

It may be something to do with mosquitoes lurking in the bowl. I don't bother and have been bitten regularly in uncomfortable places. Water is not an expense when you have your own supply.

Correct; and to flush out other possible hidden insects and animals. I always flush before at public toilets.

I'm about to get my extension today using an agent just for this year as a bit busy.

    Question

90 day is due on my official extension day......28th Sept....and a bit early to do that.

    I'd prefer to do myself.

If I use the online form (I'll look for it now but can anyone link me to it?) does it ask for any documents or copies of them to be  sent.

I am told I don't need a T M 30 for visa today.....just yellow Tabien bahn is enough, and also told that anyone who goes for one gets a 1600baht fine (short time is 800)......basically all long term farang here are due to pay 1600.

So whats required for online and postal applications?

    Thanks

When I had my retirement extension done 2 months ago by an agent, they told me to get a TM30 first. My wife did that and paid a fine of 1,600 Baht.

No papers are needed for 90 days online application.

    Hello,

I heard many good things about Doi Cha(a)ng coffee from Chiang Mai. Unfortunately it seems that there are two different Doi Chaang brands:

    http://www.lazada.co.th/doi-chaang-coffee-premium-500g-7155111.html

    http://www.lazada.co.th/doi-chang-professional-french-roast-4-1000g-331668.html

I would give the Doi Chang one a try first (for ~500 THB per kilo).

    What do you think?

I sometimes buy a pack of the first one. It tastes very good, but also cost 300 Baht for 250 gr.

I don't know the second one, but I'm not so much into dark roasted.

    Not necessarily, it depends on the circumstances. The Immigration Act states;

Section 38 : The house – master , the owner or the possessor of the residence .

A TM30 should only be completed once for each residence.

After 10 years in the same residence it's unlikely you will be required to now supply a TM30.

We have lived in our house for 16 years; but still no mercy!.

The good news is, we only have to do it again, if I go abroad.

  9. My wife got hit with the maximum fine (1,600 Baht) today, when making the TM30 report (for the first time) here in Chiang Mai.

They had on record my last stay in a Hotel 2 months ago and that was correct. It was actually the only "real" Hotel, I stayed in, on my last Isan trip.

I should have followed my original plan: Stay one night at a Hotel here in CM; go party and the day after send the wife to do the TM30.

PS! They told my wife, she only has to make a new TM30, if I go abroad (and come back)!

  10. Unsuccessful today. Says "For further information... contact the office...".

I did it previously online and all was good.

When you say previously, does that mean last time?

The way I think it work is:

After entering the country, you can do the reporting online continuously.

If you, at any time, do it personally (or by mail), you can not do it online again.

The reason (I believe) is,that it's not registered in the same database, so when you do it personally, the online system thinks you are "overstaying".

  11. I do not understand the venom thrown at people who decide to us an agent. Things in life change the place you eat, your favorite noodle joint and how extensions and 90 day reports are handled. The way a few talk the old immagration office was just fantastic and the new office is hell. I got in line at the old office around 5am a few times and still had to come back in the afternoon see an officer. If and when the on line Q comes back I think the moaning and groaning will cease. By theway it is no ones business if I decide to use an agent or as someone commited a Q jumper. Get over itfolks at present it is a pain to get an extension of stay and a 90day report, all of the moaning and groaning, letters to the Bangkok Post, and the consulate havn't changed it much or helped anyons pain

You are absolutely correct. I have lived in Chiang Mai for 16 years and it used to be a nice and easy visit to Immigration.

First with marriage extension and later with retirement.

Later I enjoyed the online queue system. You booked a time and was serviced right on time.

That has all changed; and last year I used an agent, and I will use it again this year!.
