Looks like inflation has caught up...as much as with "short time" and "long time"!!..
Soon it will be cheaper to live and rent (whatever one wants to rent ), in Spain or other places in Europe, the Carribean or in neighbouring asian countries!!?
But not as much fun if you want girls, sex, romance, love, perversions, complications, interactions, etc etc. If you don't want poontang then yeah....there are other places.

you can prove with your bank statement that you were outside the country when you first withdraw money at ATM after you come back
No. such an alibi could be created by a third party using the card.

The entry stamp on your passport at the airport where you went from Suvarnabhum will proof that you were out of the country.
if he was returning to his home country would he get an entry stamp? Not in the UK and most of Europe.

Interesting, have you deducted the taxes?
Am not familiar with England but in Canada, I'd never rent out for profit, taxes would absorb any eventual profit. Railing down even the thought of it. Some do, don't know how they get an income from it.
The first 11k are tax free. and its 20% tax leaving 80% profit. Renting your place out is the smart option.

When I lived in Rangoon sorry Yangon many years ago they used teams of prisoners (chained !) to clean up the streets .
Just a thought .
Prisoners are used to clean the sewers in Thailand.

Is an eyesore and only advertising prostitution. It's a step towards cleaning up Thailands seedy international reputation. Still a long way to go before they can replace sex tourism with quality tourism.
seafood and ice cream are advertised in beautiful neon lights. it's not an eyesore. it's beautiful.

In lieu of Thai baht will foreign cash be accepted and will credit cards and debit cards be accepted in lieu of cash? In 40 visits to Thailand I don't think I have ever had 20k baht on arrival.

The hotel would be pretty pissed off if it was the other way around...apart from that, they better get use to it quick.Just down the road a big Chinese project is under construction and more are coming. Chinese developer selling direct to Chinese is the next big thing in Pattaya. Good or bad, guess that depends on who you are asking. It did take awhile before people got use to the Russians so why would it be any different this time.
Are Chinese citizens allowed allowed to own foreign property or to export large amounts of money?

Are you suggesting they should be made to? When Thailand shows me respect instead of making it blatantly obvious they don't want us here then all well and good.
Why are you here?

I had a brilliant time in Issan following the rocket season from April to June. I had a good time in all the major cities and smaller towns.

I've noticed that not all airlines always hand out the fast track vouchers all the time. It seems to do be down to erratic Thai working practices rather than anything else. When I wasnt given a fast track voucher on my last flight I just used the fast track lane anyway, armed with my boarding pass. In LHR, access through fast track security is by boarding pass colour anyway: there is no voucher.
Occasionally when regular immigration is busy at BKK they sometimes redirect economy class travellers to fast track.
I've only received fast track cards when travelling business class.

I just spent three weeks in the UK and having read about the long queues recently I didn't want to take any chances on the flight back with two kids with me. I used www.limousine.in.th for the first time. I have to say the service was excellent; although our plane had trouble parking in the bay due to some issue with the electronic guidance system and we were towed out again and in to a new bay, the representative was there at the new gate before we were, waiting with the golf carts. It could have gone wrong at that point but they were on top of it. Straight through immigration, they collected our bags from the carousel then walked us out straight to a waiting, spotless, Outlander which was driven very professionally and courteously to my house. It just so happened we could see there were absolutely no queues at the normal immigration line but hey ho. I'll definitely use those guys again next time I travel with the family and I happily recommend them.
Good info. Good thread.

Re the article's discussion about the legal offense of human trafficking and the potential penalties for that...
Is it possible for a young woman to traffic herself? As opposed to being trafficked by other people?
I don't think so, but who knows with the "fluid" shape and enforcement of the laws here.
This article would appear to be about young women exploiting themselves -- not being exploited by others.
American service men can be court martialed for trafficking if found with a bar girl in Pattaya during military operations.
Even judges in ex-PM’s case do not know final verdict
