Terrible, the lights were on then they were off until the moment of impact. I see it daily here, drivers slow almost to a stop and then crawl across the rails as they drive over them. Not sure what that's about, but I can understand it if you drive one of those lowered to the ground vehicles which has no clearance between the lowest part of the axle and the lowest part of the tires rim, but for christs sake this was a truck. May the young lady RIP. Questions need to be addressed as far as the crossing lights not working until the moment of impact it seems.

This will strengthen the Baht I do believe. As indicated by Kasikorn Bank the baht will be back atv32 per 1 USD soon. Today it is at 32.75 per 1 USD. Glad I transferred when it was in tge 37 - 38 range. -
Yes sir the prices have gone up. I paid 29k Thb for my Honda Click in 2010, so in 12 years the price seems to have doubled. Of course when I sold it 5 years later I sold it for 25K to another American Expat there in Phuket who still has it today. Still running strong he says.

So if one were to extrapolate those figures for a full 365 days then we are at 5,365,500 million dead for the year, just a drop in the bucket according to a member who posted above..... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-64056549 Lets think about the reality of millions more not reported as they did not die in a hospital. However, they have started to travel, with many more still trying to obtain new passports so they can. -
Not jumping on any bandwagon, just posting reality. Where did I say anything about the inability of Russians to travel? You really need to do some research. In just 15 days Russia lead all arrivals with 99,593 arrivals. In the past 6 months 100's of Thousands of Russians have arrived in Thailand to escape the war etc..... https://thainewsroom.com/2023/01/19/over-900000-foreign-tourists-came-to-thailand-during-jan-1-15-tat/ "TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn revealed that during Jan. 1-15 there were 99,593 Russians arrivals followed by 89,461 Malaysians, 76,057 South Koreans, 47,471 Indians and 41,863 Laotians. Chinese Hit Thai Beaches for First Time in 3 Years
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This articles says they expect 5 million, another says 10 million, television today said there would be more arriving in the 3rd quarter to include more arrivals than all Chinese travelers in 2019 especially in monetary means since the Tours have Bern now approved to restart on February 8th. Tell me which is correct and then again tell me thst Thailands tourism only accounts for a fraction of the GDP. Latest story I heard from a TAT person was they expect over 26 million tourist arrivals this year and in 2024 over 40 million of which over 1/3rd will be from China.... Looks like back to normal....but without enough laborers in the tourist areas. I did notice when booking a hotel fir an upcoming trip to Phuket the prices are 3x's higher than when we stayed there the same time last year. -

So the world is 10% black, 10% white and the other 80% is gray, nice to know and that is basically how I live my life in the 80% gray area. Yes both answers could be correct and nowhere in my reply did I dispute that, just how I look at things. The deaths are a by-product of their decision to open up completely amongst mass protest which were occurring in the country. After 3 years people want to live life and learn to live with Covid, much like learning to live with other virus's. As long as people take the proper precautions, like normal people do during the Flu and allergy season now then the numbers will continue to be a smaller percentage. The issue here is that the many who have traveled outside of the mainland are infected to a percentage that is troubling. -

But according to @nigelforbeshis neighbors sister says its fine and normal.........so whose telling porkies. I tend to believe half of what I read and half of what I hear from others. Yet my condo neighbor who is from China and has been living in BKK and working here for the past 10 years, (His parents and brother still live in the capitol), said it is an absolute mess and he wont head back for a visit anytime soon. I will put my faith in what he has said. This by the way is the same neighbor who has had Covid 3 times. -
Either way if they decide it's working or volunteering you still need a work permit. I wanted to tutor kids in my village for free just by holding conversational classes with them and my daughter at our house in Ido Thani....nope need a work permit if it's not your own kid, even if volunteering and no pay.....stupid

My Nurse Practitioner Daughter in the US makes $80 USD per hour, while my 16 year old half Thai daughter in the US, who is working a part time job while going to school is making $15 an hour or 2k Thb for 4 hours of work. She got her first check yesterday and called me because she made $422.48 after taxes for 32 hours,l worked in 2 weeks, the total was just under $500 usd for less than a weeks work, but still way above anything she could make here....

Article in the paper we can not link to says they expect 5 million Chinese tourists this year and expect them to spend more than the ones who came prior to covid did. Tell me please how half of the numbers can spend more. The average was just over 6k Thb per day per traveler spent then, so that would mean they would need to spend almost 13k Thb a day during there 6 to 8 day stays, which is the average length of stay.....gotta love TAT -

It may have been spent here but did it get moved around in the country or was it moved back to China by the Chinese businesses.
