While the inflation rate in the UK heads inexorably upwards the country sits on massive domestic reserves of oil, coal and gas which the govt refuses to exploit.

It's the opposite.
The girls I know want to be registered locally with the government.
They want to receive benefits, 30 baht health care, for voting, etc..
I won't argue with that. Clearly the girls/women you know are not the girls/women I know.

I just think it is hilarious that so many left wing socialist/communist think they are escaping their repressive right wing governments to "free" Thailand because they saw someone walking down a tourist corridor smoking weed and ladyboys are tolerated. How little they know about Thai politics or society. How fast do they figure it out and move their leftist woke BS back to their home countries?
Not fast I'm afraid.

It's ignorant comments like this that harm Thailand.
Nothing to do with culture, it's political.
I'd say most of the prostitutes are working in the sex industry for survival.
In the west the government would provide social security and welfare payments (thousands of dollars after the birth) for these young mothers, government would garnish the fathers wages, the woman may be on maternity leave, she has income but sadly in Thailand these very POOR young woman (girls) have no money to support herself and her baby.
Most times the father has abandoned her, these girls have no one to turn to for support, sadly they make wrong decisions in life.
Again, these girls/young mothers, Thailand has failed these young people, at times they have no option but to work in the sex industry.
Shame on Thailand for not providing for these young mothers.
If you speak to these women you will find that most of them do not want to be involved with government in any way whatsoever.

The people who opposed pornographic books being available in American school libraires were labelled as being far right and they were compared to the Nazis burning books in Berlin 1930's

Trump wants us all to talk about Biden’s health.
The question is, why?Like most of us, whatever our politics, he no doubt wonders how many people knew about this but kept quiet about it

Her previous job before becoming First Lady was posing for nude pornographic photos.
She was probably concerned of something else coming out.
Some people why she stays with him after the porn star, playboy model, rape cases. A nude model is not exactly up there in the high moral stakes. She slept her way to First Lady.
Disgraceful. Be ashamed of yourself.

Yes, we do. See post above 😁 What makes you think T is far right? Have you actually met real Thai people 🤣🤣
First visited Thailand in 1962. Business visits during the 1970s. Worked here in the 1980s. Married a Thai lady in 1990. Retired to Thailand in 1993. Still living in Thailand in 2025, and still happily married to my Thai wife. She is now 70 years old, I am 83.

It always amazes me that any left-leaning foreigners would choose to live in Thailand. Maybe they quietly enjoy the way things work here.

As in all countries the girls/women in Thailand are not all the same. Some will be confused and worried by being sent money from abroad, while others happily receive regular payments from many different men without giving it a second thought.

My dad spent years in the British Army (REME), travelling to very many countries. So, I got the army discipline so I knew where I stood, a wanderlust (yeah, both countries and women) but not the same as grain (reply above); a good financial sense (I got that from my mother). I could also fix my own cars, bikes and do lots of DIY around the home (but disciplined enough to know what I don't know).
My dad died about 33 years ago; I've travelled to more countries than he was able to, and I've worked in more too. Not sure about the women count though 😆.
My Dad was also in the British army and served in many countries. Never got to know him very well. He and my mother were divorced shortly after he retired. He was interested in most sports as am I to this day.

She should have been grateful. Most worms are a good source of protein, and iron, zinc, vitamins B2, B5 and B12, and niacin.

Sad to see such appalling behaviour. Reflects badly on all of us.

I changed from marriage to retirement some years ago at CW. Very straightforward, no hassle. Just be clear whether you are retaining 800k bath in the bank, or proposing an application based on monthly income.

'The new policy encourages Thai nationals to repatriate foreign income for investment in Thailand'. Taxing foreign income in this way will not encourage anyone, Thai or foreign, to bring money into Thailand. Completely the reverse I would think. Mind boggling logic.

It must have been very tough for Joe Biden to have to try to keep going as age and infirmity began to take their toll. My opinion is that those close to him should have withdrawn him from the strain of public life much earlier.

Not necessarily true in Thailand. It seems that the older western dope smokers in SE Asia bring with them multiple mental health issues and the cannabis allows the behavioral problems to manifest themselves.
Cannabis has a calming effect whereas alcohol encourages aggression.

UK Inflation Spikes to 3.5% After April’s Surge in Household Bills

An entirely false argument by the net zero enthusiasts . I was in the oil and gas business for 40 years. Rest assured the UK govt could easily establish a domestic price for locally sourced fuels, separate from the international market, if it chose to do so.
