Thai mother’s selfless act donates son’s heart, rekindling a stranger’s heartbeat
Ah OK, But the way I read it, she did this as a selfless act to help others and wasn't thinking about money.

Thai mother’s selfless act donates son’s heart, rekindling a stranger’s heartbeat
I read nothing in any of these covering stories to say she had donated his organs for financial gain. Where have you seen this? Or is this just your ' logic ' at work here?

Heartbreaking end: Love’s refusal triggers fatal shots to Thai man’s penis
He won't go to prison as a Royal Thai Navy officer defending a ' damsel in distress ' and the other witness is dead and had a loaded gun with him for no good reason. The military will swing into action to back up one of their own. This will be a classic ' self defense ' aided by the dead guys ex partner as the star witness for the defense. Then it's ' Move along, case closed, nothing to see here '

Seeking alternative health insurance quotes to Pacific Cross/Prime..
I was speaking to the rep from Pacific Prime yesterday and she basically said that they are very keen on checking up claims at Pacific Cross, and it's true premiums are linked to claims as well as age related. She did say that the majority of disputes with company and client tend to be a result of the client not informing about pre existing conditions. I don't know what is true. Cigna re quoting me in the region of 93K THB which is double Pacific Cross. Also, their quote was for a semi private room, not a private room, and cover applies only to Thailand and the UK, not to Asia such as Cambodia and Vietnam where I often travel. I am awaiting the quote from April International insurance, not April local insurance, from the French based company. The agent informed me the last quote I received from April was not an international based quote from April, but a Thai based quote, so they obviously have one for Thailand/Asia as well as an International quote. So, I have been following up on all advice given here on the board.

Married in farangland, divorced in court in TH, but according to my embassy, I am still married for them
And where is Farangland? Is it a new republic?

Married in farangland, divorced in court in TH, but according to my embassy, I am still married for them
And that's exactly why they marry foreigners, to keep their options open and the benefits of our countries are far more than they get here!

Problem with increasingly aggressive & violent wife
Once you are on this slippery slope it is usually irretrievable especially with Thais that aren't educated properly, (even those that are!) , as they lack maturity to make adult decisions. Going off at a tangent like this leads me to three choices. 1. She wants to make you so uncomfortable that you leave. Then she can tell the neighbors you left her and the blame is on you not her unreasonable behaviour, even though the village probably knows.....face saving! 2. She's on drugs and short of funds. 3. She has massive debts outside either for gambling, drugs or both and cannot cope and does not know how to approach the problem or explain to you. Therefore, rather than lose face or look a fool, she chooses this immature option of smashing things up. It does strike me that this situation is getting extremely volatile. Also, when you need to start getting the Police involved due to these tantrums, what kind of a life is that to be living? Children in these type of relationships are simply used as bargaining chips to negotiate a better deal for her at your expense. I've seen it time and again in foreign/Thai relationships. Thais can be incredibly ' hard faced ' in these situations. I would certainly be planning an exit strategy in this instance. You further say all her wages goes to clear her debts, then what kind of debts are they?, not that you will get the truth from her anyway.

Has anybody had eye surgery in Chiang Mai?
On the link I provide, look at the front page and go to the top where it says ' Treatments ' then a drop down menu will appear showing the vast range of services that they provide.

Has anybody had eye surgery in Chiang Mai?
Yes I do understand and if you read the brochure in full and all the way down, this clinic does everything from Lasik, to RLE. It is RLE I am hoping to have. To see the services they provide just go to the drop down menu on the link I provided and look under treatments.

Has anybody had eye surgery in Chiang Mai?
If you read it through, they do the whole lot actually. I have slow growing cataracts on both eyes. I was looking towards the RLE surgery. I have a lazy left eye and I only see in 2D and my right eye is both long and nearsighted. So I've got to do something. I have made and appointment in the UK and will just go along and see what they have to say, after all, they are the experts!

Has anybody had eye surgery in Chiang Mai?
I am not going the insurance route and have booked a highly regarded place in Wetherby, United Kingdom in September for a face to face consultation with the specialist. I also wont be doing anything if it requires me to wear glasses after surgery. https://customvisionclinic.com/lasik/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwy9-kBhCHARIsAHpBjHj2AK-ZOXUfmdDCyRQh2htH7Dbg7VvTzl8blmKKqnVn66mtCTnzJRYaAsqfEALw_wcB

Seeking alternative health insurance quotes to Pacific Cross/Prime..
I was confused with the similarity between the names, however, I have since realized I used Pacific Prime as the broker and Pacific Cross as the insurer.

Rat problem
If it was me I wouldn't be on here asking whose responsibility it is. I would be banging on the landlords door, informing them I was getting the exterminators in for the vermin and what was she prepared to do about it, and rapido! I would not be able to sleep if I had those things anywhere near my house, disgusting creatures they are.

Or Ophthalmologists that promote laser surgery that wear glasses!

Prawit Tipped As Pita’s Rival For PM
It's just a desperate attempt to try and swing the senate to keep the old guard in power. My god, the guy can hardly stand up unaided and often appears ' three sheets to the wind ' in interviews. He looks to me ' three sandwiches short of a picnic ' He's their best last hope with Prayuts miserable showing at the polls. Of course they will be desperate to have a clown like this in power, they don't want questions and investigations into how they have managed to make such a giant mess of this country over the last 9 years. All the laws that Prayut introduced such as stacking both houses of government with his lackeys and generals and all the disgusting policies he put forward and made law ' on the nod 'need dismantling. Let's face it, some of the first laws that they pass are to give themselves ' immunity from prosecution ' for when they are ousted from power. The entire Thai system of government is just a complete ' basket case '

Seeking alternative health insurance quotes to Pacific Cross/Prime..
Yes, thanks a lot, I am aware of the above following an email from Pacific Prime explaining all this. My main worry was people saying they had difficulties with Pacific Cross when they made a claim.

Seeking alternative health insurance quotes to Pacific Cross/Prime..
Has any other board members who insure with Pacific Cross had problems when they have made a claim? I was told they were a popular company and very competitive for expats and had a good name. I have been with them a while but granted, I have never made a claim.

When does it become time to put money aside in a separate account and self insure?
You talk nonsense. I had no idea at 25 years old that I would end up in Thailand. I did save and have substantial assets in Thailand and the UK. However, that has nothing to do with this thread. Up until now, I have always used insurance companies for health insurance since I have lived here. What I am saying is that now I have hit 61 they are going up at a rapid rate. No, as a reasonably healthy individual on the whole, I didn't think about health insurance premiums too much but I am doing now. I did not give it much thought as a 25 year old young man and most of my circle of friends at that age, do not really think about life at 61! Saving for the future and building assets is part of life, it was for me as a young businessman as is looking after both a UK family and a Thai family. Nobody on this board no matter how much money they have wants to get hit with a disaster and end up with a bill of millions of baht because they didn't have insurance. So, it's a calculated risk. Some feel they can jump on a plane and fly back to their country of origin, but you cannot do that if you have a severe road accident or say, a brain aneurysm, which a friend of mine suffered in Pattaya at the age of 65.
