  1. What was the attack on the Capitol then, a family picnic to welcome Joe Biden???, You seem to have a short memory and their behavior reminds me of Hitlers brownshirts with the extreme levels of violence refusing to accept an election result. What a short or convenient memory you have. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/02/08/politics/fact-check-trump-january-6/index.html
  2. Maybe, If I was De Niro, I'd be off spending my billions in Monte Carlo or the Bahamas if Trump gets in.
  3. Your location doesn't have a lot to do with it, actually with the education standards lower in Isaarn, they can be more prone to using violence because many lack education, thoughts of consequences or financial means to get out of a dispute. I have seen explosions of violence in bars and clubs in Isaarn, (nothing to do with myself or the company I was with) at concerts in the past, boys attacking other boys just because they come from a different village or school etc. That happens in Bangkok too. It's nothing to do with being fearless as the OP supposed, it's to do with lack of thought for consequences. This is a common trait of many Thais, who act on impulse when angered. With my being involved in Pattaya for many years in the hotel and bar scenes, I saw many incidents of violence with both foreigners and Thais, nine times out of ten, alcohol being the main factor. As they say, Act in haste, repent at leisure. When the OP talks about foreigners avoiding trouble, I will say something, most sensible Thais very much do the same and avoid unnecessary confrontation. During Songkran, my partner's brothers were home up here, journeying from Bangkok. Like myself, they are late fifties and early sixties. They went out and returned early and told me the reason was that they didn't like the way things were developing at a party in the village. A far more sensible approach is to avoid trouble before it comes to you, it's not cowardice, it's common sense.
  4. De Niro is not only a movie star, he is a very sensible, level-headed human being. Can you say that about Trump? I think I know who needs their head examined. And I seem to recall Donald Trump was not even a Republican, until it suited his political ambitions. Are Trump and Biden the best you lot can come up with as an alleged superpower, you are supposed to be the leaders of the free world? Absolutely ridiculous. Trump is now in court daily and his team are lying like hell to get him out of the shi ite again. He's a proven liar, narcissist, misogynist and imagine a Vietnam draft dodger being called a Commander in Chief,................................ what a joke! He then has the effrontery to poke fun at Senator John Mc Cain, a real war hero. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2019/02/27/trumps-lawyer-no-basis-for-presidents-medical-deferment-from-vietnam/
  5. Yup, Then guys like him will be crying and blaming everybody else, especially the Tories, when they can't get housing, hospital beds, school places or improvements to infrastructure, because the whole budget has been spent looking after illegals, non-binary, and all the rest of the woke nonsense and helping them enjoy the' rich cultural diversity' courtesy of the likes of Sadiq Khan and co.
  6. You were a bit daft getting involved if he had the reputation you claim he has. No, you are not supposed to use the rental deposit as the final month's rent, it is supposedly there for any unforeseen final bills or damage/cleaning and putting it back to its original condition. That said, there are many who do it because of unscrupulous landlords who find excuses not to return deposits. It is a civil not a police matter, (it won't stop him calling them as a bluff) but I would keep my head low and out of his way during your final period of occupation, as no doubt he will be wise to this trick.
  7. There is no way on this earth would I consider Cambodia for eye surgery, and I am a fan of Cambodia. I had my front teeth done down there with porcelain veneers at a great high quality place in Phnom Penn. Anybody that is doing OK in business that I know in Cambodia seeks treatment, check-ups, operations and procedures in Thailand. I myself, practiced what I preached, as I had eye surgery last year, cataracts and lens replacement, but I went to the best I could find in Wetherby, UK to an eye surgeon of good repute. I am too afraid to take chances with my vision. It was quite expensive at, 3800 GBP an eye, for the multi focal lens and the procedure, but how much is peace of mind. The Lenses are very different in price depending on what you opt for and can bump up costs considerably. British people are getting them done FREE OF CHARGE now in a conveyor belt type system in the UK, they are doing so many. It also is done in a matter of weeks, not months.
  8. It was completely a new paragraph and separated by a huge chunk of advertising and continued afterward, that's how it was missed. Be slightly dumb to miss out something deliberately to allow AN detectives like you to jump all over an error, wouldn't it? Anyway, that was one judge's interpretation of it in 1999, and that's what it was interpretation. Now, it is all clear with laws in place to send them elsewhere.
  9. Suit yourself! Give up your house for a family of illegal refugees if you feel so much inclined.
  10. Well, we have seen the attitude and the viewpoint the government in the UK is taking. RWANDA, and the sooner, the better.
  11. Never saw that ' omission ' but it changes nothing. Honestly, some of you on here appear to gloat about the difficulties and strains on resources that the UK is having with these illegal migrants.
  12. From your link:- Full Fact writes: "A lot depends here on how to interpret which country people are 'coming directly from'. "It could be argued, for instance, that as the people crossing the channel are coming directly from France - which is not the country they initially fled - they don’t have the right to claim asylum in the UK.
  13. You shouldn't seize on isolated incidents to try and taint the British servicemen in World War ll. There were obviously different attitudes then to now, and you can't put modern twists and values on historical events. I mean, when the Americans came over and were based in the UK, they expected the British to follow through with their ' color segregation bars' and the like, but were firmly rebuffed. Let's be honest, there are still instances now in 2024, where people are criticized and castigated in foreign countries for not speaking the local language, preferring their own
  14. Try reading the links and reading my posts, they fit together and back each other up for anybody capable of reading at elementary level. Bye. Have a sunny day.
  15. You are just deliberately obtuse. I won't answer any more of your baiting posts. Go make yourself useful somewhere, preferably Rwanda.
  16. You just talk drivel. Complete unsubstantiated drivel. Is it too warm outside that you must stay in and just type nonsense to get a response?
  17. @RayC https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/news/2022/02/24/98-of-channel-boat-migrants-have-no-passport https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1876229/asylum-seekers-lie-religion-stay-UK-exclusive https://anglican.ink/2024/02/08/fake-conversions-and-asylum-seekers/ https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/revealed-judges-migrants-christianity-escape-deportation-jjn6xrwg0 https://euaa.europa.eu/asylum-report-2023/432-safe-country-concepts https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/news/2021/12/27/asylum-abuse-by-adults-claiming-to-be-children https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12506813/Fury-French-police-funded-UK-taxpayers-stop-Channel-crossings-admit-letting-welcome-misery-world-France.html There are a few links to keep you two going for a while.
  18. https://euaa.europa.eu/asylum-report-2023/432-safe-country-concepts
  19. I am not getting into this with you either when you are already supposed to know these rules and guidelines set out by the EU themselves. And it is easy enough for you to research this information online. https://euaa.europa.eu/asylum-report-2023/432-safe-country-concepts
  20. Simple as this, they are supposed to settle and seek refuge in the first safe country, you are deliberately ignored this aspect of the rules. They are not doing this, they are making their way to the UK. Therefore, they are not following the rules set down by the EU themselves. They are choosing the countries they wish to reside in. So you can keep your links and whatever, what I am saying is irrefutable under the EU's own rules, which they are then disregarding and refusing, (as in the case of France), to take back these boat people. We then have the case of those saying they are persecuted and playing the system, pretending they are juveniles and exhaustive tests have to be done to prove their ages, pretending they are LGBTQ+ to try to obtain asylum, Muslims, who all of a sudden convert to Christianity, then have gone on to commit terrorist acts and unspeakable crimes once they have reached British shores, (outlined recently on LBC by multi award-winning Nick Ferrari).......... They are up to every trick in the book for the pure benefit of seeking asylum status. And the list goes on and on. Lastly, you go on to say they have little knowledge of Immigration law before they reach British shores. It's been featured in documentaries about sharp practice from immigration lawyers and alleged Asylum charities issuing booklets about ways around the system. What about those already here in the UK, advising their relatives abroad in France of how to circumvent the system and how to answer immigration officials. After all, they are well capable of phone calls and emails, you only have to look at them getting off the boats all armed with the latest cellphones!
  21. Until they want all the trappings of being a Thai government representative when they go abroad. Then they want recognition of their position, whilst putting their kids through fancy education programs in the UK, USA and Australasia. They also want to partake and indulge in buying property in their own names in these places, and all the benefits they can take advantage of. This, whilst maintaining their xenophobic attitudes back in the comfort of Thailand, where they can carry on the illusion of their Demi god status in their own backyards.
