The danger area in which Covid is mutating, it seems to me, is in one locale. India. Delta and Delta Plus do not refer to skymiles. Whatever people want to say about the Chinese (and it was their initial lax response and coverup which went a long ways in making this a worldwide pandemic), their subsequent actions have worked. They may be draconian, but their lockdowns and lockouts seem to be successful. Contrast that with India. That country seems to be turning into a petri dish for Covid. The world should have locked out India, but it's too late now.

China may also have reached herd immunity.

She's 73. Vaccines don't make you immortal. Given the numbers being vaccinated there are going to be people who die as on any given day about 1,500 people die in Thailand for one reason or another anyway.

And the mortality rate in the usa is about 3 million per year.  So are these people dying from covid or with covid?  Same goes for Thailand and elsewhere.

Just imagine. Had Thailand made an initial investment in bringing Moderna and Pfizer into the country, instead of the other vaccines, Thailand would now be a Southeast Asian showcase of advanced medicine and patient care. Combine the mRNA vaccines with the initial Covid lockdown success and Thailand would have received the sort of good publicity that no amount of money could buy.

Not exactly the virus is mutating and many are still getting Covid.  I would not be so optimistic or cofident.

  4. What's happenign is Orwellian to say the least.  Now let's look at some facts.  We are constantly hit over the head by our treatment of indigenous peoples.  Yes it is wrong to break treaties and this needs to be addressed.  However, people also need to realize that for instance in North America and elsewhere indigenous peoples were contantly at war and they constantly took lands from the  weaker.  Sound familiar.

Additionally, North American indigenous people have had their dna traced to a mix of Russian and Asian which helps to explain the larger noses and features distinct from simply Asian.  Even more ridiculous are the claims "we have always been here".

I have studied and appreciate Native culutre and sympathize with the troubles and wrongs they have endured but let's not ignore reality just because somone is spinning stories with an agenda.

Not enough and not soon enough. Read this and compare.  UK is going to use this jab a 3rd booster shot this autumn (northern hemisphere). 60 million more doses. If 3 shots are needed it will be the end of next year at this rate for Thailand. These grandiose statements bear no weight with me as time and again they are proved to be just grandstanding nonsence.

Third booster because the vaccines lose effectiveness  as the virus mutates.  Do yourself a favor stay healthy, exercise, eat well and get yourself some ivermectin.  If you have preconditions isolate and wait.   A recent article on yahoo indicated the new strain was very contagious but the efffects were like a common cold.

It doesn't make them responsible but you would have thought they would be more philanthropic rather than introducing monopolistic policies to benefit a select few.

You need to explain to us better why the Thai vaccine situation is the fault of foreign nations?

Surely nations that research and produce the vaccine have the total right over what they do with those vaccines and their own populations come first?

Particularly when Thailand was open for business as usual when other countries were closing borders at the onset of the crisis.

There’s lots of info out there...

    And example: https://www.motorcycletesttips.uk/motorcycle-theory-test/motorcycle-stopping-distances/

I haven’t seen anything on a curve....  braking distances will vary significantly from the tires, tire pressures, quality of brakes, quality of road surface, size of bike (and tires) etc....  So stopping distances themselves ‘could’ be highly debated if we wanted to go down that road.

The key issue for me not the actual stopping or breaking distance but the ‘thinking’ or ‘reaction’ distance...

NanLeaw states the thinking / reaction distance is 42m when travelling at 100kmh.

Other data below (from the link above) shows the thinking distance is less at 100km, closer to 20m (18m at 96kmh) - This will of course change from person to person.

Even at the slower estimate of 42m there is still time (distance) for the motorcyclist to react.

There is potentially something for motorcyclists to learn from this. I too believe that the head on collision was avoidable by heading to the left, I’m not even sure the bike needed to be laid down.

I’m still so curious about no reaction at all from the motorcyclist and I’m wondering if there is something to learn from that specific aspect of this tragic incident.

Good info and I hope all aware realize that their ABS brakes will lock up if rounding a curve.

What is the meaning of stolen?

Stolen is defined as something was taken by someone who was not the owner

    What does smuggled mean?

transitive verb. 1 : to import or export secretly contrary to the law and especially without paying duties imposed by law. 2 : to convey or introduce surreptitiously.

now you are getting more ridiculous lol

The OP highlights why my iPhone location is off and there is no access to anyone.  I sign in on the sheet, when I can be bothered,  but I don't use a Q Code for anything. Its arguably the most insecure item of technology you can have on your phone. .

another reason to get a vpr on your phone and operate it 24/7

Yep. Scan continuously for the escape route. Or at least be aware of where potential ones exist. It is the riding/driving equivalent of "Never fly straight and level for more than 10 seconds in the combat zone"

Also when riding / driving never fixate on any point for more than 10 seconds.

Helps, if like me, you drive worst than the locals. Then the worst person to meet is yourself coming the other way. As my driving instructor once told me.

This might be a bit philosophical for some?

and ALWAYS watch the front tires of vehicles not the signal lights for indications of direction change!!!!

the car is on the wrong side of the road plus the bits of bike are on the shoulder so looks like the driver pulled out to overake without checking for oncoming traffic which is the usual norm here, so many thai drivers seem to  think they can pull out and any oncoming traffic will move off the road so they dont have to slow down, they also think flashing their headlights gives them right of way. Cant cant the amount of times I have had to swerve to the extreme side of the road due to drivers/riders doing this at the last minute to pass a slower car/bike without eevn signalling their intent, I have got to the stage when they pull out and flash their headlights I flash mine back then hold them on and no longer move for them so they have no choice but to pull back in, actually learning the road rules would save many lives here especially if the police enforced them

precisely what happens in lands of no enforcement unless of course you are a poor thai or farang not wearing a helmet at a checkpoint...
