Maybe Sean talked to the person who witnessed the murder or maybe Sean witnessed it and returned after the murders holding Davids head, then ran back to his room with his guitar, his clothes stained with David's blood.

Because you would want to distance yourself as much as possible. I would think. Facebook gets this information into the public domain. He used facebook again to assist with his rescue. Make no bones about it he saw what these "friends " were capable of first hand. He was being harassed ever since which led to the last night of harassment we heard about from KT. I believe this choice to stay or run was a defining moment for Sean - not to get all philosophical or anything. I think he knows the outcome of his choices and he let them both down.

He's not all over CNN and BBC he s not here assisting with an investigation. Why investigate - he knows exactly what happened and he s terrified. In a million years I could not leave a country that I knew for almost two years to leave it in the Thai polices hands to solve. never. Self preservation is his thinking not investigation or catching the criminals that did this to his "brother".

I rather think he didn't want publicity as he'd just been convicted of a very serious crime that he didn't want the world to find out about.

A serious crime doesn't result in community service hours and secondly I don't see him being on the down low when with public notices posted at the murder scene on facebook and later to the world.

Anyway speculation indeed ! As advised it simply makes sense to me if I put myself in his position.

Regardless of anything that Sean has done in the past, if a person is connected to a crime in any way (knowing the victims, etc.) and they arn't straight up, then they need to be considered a person of interest, simply because we don't know what he really knows and he might have crucial information or he might not know anything.

I have another scenario. Hannah walks home escorted by a gang of footballers who had celebrated in AC bar earlier. They gang raped her and David whilst on his way back to the hotel heard the screaming went to help and got bashed on the head with the hoe. They continue to rape Hannah then one of them smashes the hoe through her head and shocked they all run back to their hotels. Maybe Mon is the witness and that's how he got mixed up in this.

Except we're hearing that a speedboat was instantly arranged to whisk (one or more of) the perps away, maybe even straight to Bangkok??. Unlikely any footballer over there on a jolly is gonna be able to sort that at a few minutes notice. It's pointing in a certain direction. If BKK police are running the show then is there a (slim) chance of some justice? If local 'cops' then obviously it would seem not.

22 years ago, I took one of the famous omelettes once down there with 2 female backpackers in their early 20s who had never taken them before. They stated wandering onto the beach, into the sea and taking their clothes off.

The only thing I would dispute in this is that they killed her before they raped her and dragged her away from all the blood to rape her in the spot where she was found. Without being insensitive the photo shows her body in a state that would support that.

I thought it unlikely that there would be 2 necrophiliacs together, but can you go into a bit more detail on why her body position supports that?

There must have been two similar, green towels on the crime scene, one of them thrown over Hannah's face, and the other in a bundle on a rock close to the water and the body of Dave.

If not, then the people who first arrived at the crime scene and started snapping away, must have been busy carrying one (possibly contaminated) green towel all over the crime scene, which sounds totally weird.

Well the mystery is about David and why he was naked. That blood on the ground is David's, so if he was still fully clothed then his top would of been damaged / extremely blooded, and his white shorts as well.

Yes this is my point. Hannah and David must have left together, they must have, and the theory that David stumbled upon the scene is wrong. Hannah's friends have said that David was 'smitten' with Hannah, according to another of Hannah's friends Lucy

Sean has said he slept and therefore never caught up with David as intended. I imagine that with the type of lifestyle he was living though, he may just as well have woken after midnight and then headed out- he did admit to being on the beach playing guitar and singing. It seems like the kind of place where you could sleep into the evening because the bar action really gets going in the wee hours of the morning. So yes, both of Sean's statements could be true - slept that night and headed out in the very early hours.

Ok just going off the top of my head, One story of Sean's was he saw 2 guys trying to molest her at the bar and David stepped in.

In a police interview Mr Ware told officers that David then told him he was going out to get some cigarettes but another friend revealed he went instead to nightclub AC to meet up with Hannah and her friend Emma Madeline.

Friends told police that Hannah, from Great Yarmouth, and David, from Jersey, left the club together between 3am and 4am.

Hannah may have run ahead to the beach. Do not discount that Sean was not with David in the scenario above. He claimed David was noble in his actions and wrote an almost frantic facebook posting. Sean thought he was " one of them" but at the end of it all who can trust a pot smoking neurotic ? Sean is scared as he should be. But not only from one night of harassment.

Not judging him in any way its just he made all these contradictory statements he didn't even need to make that naturally he would be considered a suspect in a normal criminal probe.

The above hypothesis seems quite plausible. Hannah is seen walking alone and is raped but without the intention to murder her - the perpetrators believe they will get away with it. A single white girl's story can be easily covered up. Now David enters the scene and is killed so that there are no witnesses. Now that Hannah is also witness to David's murder they have to silence her too. Sean stubbornly stays on the island afterwards and he too is on the list of witnesses to be silenced. I can believe it.

Yes, and that's why Sean should be considered a suspect simply because he has said like 3 or 4 different versions now of what he was doing that night.

David and Hannah left separately with their respective friends. David went back to the room with his friend and at some point said he was going to look for Hannah. They were not doing it on the beach. He found them and tried to save her. He is a heroand lost his life trying to save this girl. You should stop making it sound like they were somehow responsible for this.

I wouldn't be so sure about it. Jonathan Head of BBC published a different story. Allegedly they walked together towards the beach.

Thai police believe they have CCTV showing David Miller and Hannah Witheridge before their deaths

The shocking death of the two young tourists has cast a pall over this scenic island resort.

Locals say they can remember nothing like it happening before.

The police say they are focusing their investigation on Burmese migrant workers on the island.

One senior officer told the BBC he did not believe a Thai person could have committed such a crime.

Police say they have examined CCTV footage showing the two victims leaving a bar late on Sunday night, walking towards the beach - but they were killed in a hidden spot behind some rocks, and no eyewitnesses have yet been found.

Its just that if people know who they were how can they justify keeping their mouths shut when if they spoke out and were murdered by the Koh Tao mafia then surely that would really do damage to Koh Tao business.
