  1. maybe they should learn in school

    the costs of a child

and maybe even more, how to prevent having children in the first place ...

Thailand has a birth rate of 1.6, the lowest in the region, similar to China with their long term 1 child policy.

The low birth rate is a major economical threat for Thailand as there won't be enough working people to support the older part of the population and there won't be enough labor to make the inustry competitive in the region.

Birth control is the wrong measure for Thailand!

No way, there are a lot of individuals that need taking out of the gene pool

  2. Thailand , get ready for a special Tier 4 , made just for you !!!

The involvement of government officials has been known for

many years, and the higher ups either chose to do nothing

or were receiving a part of the money being made . So I

say throw the book at the lot of them. ..... And NO MORE

of the frigging inactive posts !! Hard jail time is a far more

    suitable deterrent.......

Hard jail time is for people who have been convicted of a crime. Not for people under investigation. If they are found to have enough evidence against them they will be taken to court judged and sentenced.

Hart jail time is not for suspects they have to be proven guilty first.

What kind of a backward country do you come from. Sounds more like a dictatorship type country.

Burmese 2??? They are doing hard time, are innocent too!!

  3. As The Nation reported, Vicha alleged that the Chinese state enterprises in question – Guangdong Stationery & Sporting Goods Import & Export Corp and the Hainan Grain and Oil Industrial Trading – had not received official authorisation from the Chinese central government to engage in a G2G deal with the Thai government.

    Interesting grounds to impeach...

You don't know the first thing about it do you, do you really think that was all that was in the hundreds of thousand pages of evidence the NACC had accumulated over the two and a half years of their enquiry ?

Anyone knows a source in English giving more details on the NACC report than the few short articles such as the OP? It's difficult to go further than believe/not believe the NACC with so few information diffused.

I already posted these on another topic, they will give you some background on the starting point of the NACC investigation.

For those who want some background on this read the original report on the evidence presented by the Democrats in the 2012 no confidence debate.

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/600926-rice-deals-with-china-fake-thai-democrats/

You will see that it is no small matter as the rice was said to be sold to these companies at 300b per sack while the market price at the time was between 1500 and 1550b per sack which would have made someone a profit on the deal of 20 billion.

You will note as you read that link that the name Siam Indiga comes up, for farther info on this company have a look at :

Pay particular attention to post number 4.

Thaksin aide jailed for rice fraud

You have a very very unhealthy obsession with the Shin family.

Do you know that the country of Thailand actually existed before he entered politics?

Also did you know that there was rampant corruption before he entered politics.

Finally the cherry on top, did you know there were 17 coups before Thaksin entered politics?

Have you ever thought that there is another common denominator/s in the glorious history of Thai politics?

How do you measure corruption? Is it on the amount pilfered or the way it is pilfered or who it is pilfered from?

In my eyes a corrupt person is a corrupt person, 100 baht or a googol baht.

Take a deep breath and go and find a more healthy hobby!

  4. Sad state of affairs when NGO's need to beg money to ensure some kind of justice for the two scapegoats!!

The two guys have now been locked in a prison cell for more than 7 months, and the real culprits are enjoying their freedom protected by their connections.

A true disgrace and travesty of justice!!

And you know all this from where? Been polishing the crystal ball?

The trial hasn't commenced, no evidence presented, and you've already made up your mind it's a travesty.

Based on what, the belief you're always right or based on the unreliable ramblings of a discredited FB site?

The discredited FB site you talk of has helped the police catch 4 or 5 killers in the last couple of weeks.

And you got that from where?

That's true, one where a policeman was attacked, one where an old woman was beaten with a stone, one where a guy in a BMW beat up a drunk old guy at songkran, one where a guy killed a cyclist and yesterday a guy on a motorbike who beat to death an old man who flashed his lights at him. He gets a lot of stuff solved by getting photos/footage into the public domain! Obviously he couldn't get this solved as the powers that be are protecting certain people. FACT

  5. and what major issue has Mr P really solved?

    Airlines .. nope

    Fishing ... nope

    Human trafficking ... nope

    drugs ... nope

    Thai economy ... nope

    drunk driving ... nope

    human rights ... nope

    Has he actually done anything?

it is same same in LOS

They have actually done a lot in less than a year, far more good than the previous administration did in their term.

They stopped the violence and killing.

Put an end to the rice pledging scheme which it now has been revealed was costing the country around 300 billion a year.

Paid the rice farmers who someone forgot to make allowance to pay when they dissolved parliament.

Brought the rampant corruption within the scheme into the open and started prosecutions against the corrupt and negligent.

Started selling off the deteriorating rice stockpiles.

Restarted rice trading stalled by the hoarding of the scheme.

Made a good and continuing start on reclaiming encroached land.

Bringing corrupt cops to justice including one high profile case even you must have heard of.

Working on cleaning up a corruption and slavery ridden fishing industry.

    Tackling human trafficking.

    Working on much needed reforms.

Those are facts and the truth, although I know they must be difficult for you to accept, and there is much more.

You should note that none of those things that the present administration has to tackle are of their own making but are instead all inherited from previous administrations.

You should also note that should the amnesty bill have been passed all the corruption and crime associated with the above would have been forgiven up to the time that bill was passed.

The country has the people who came out and protested the bill, including the reds, and those such as Suthep who became leaders to thank for saving it from allowing the corrupt to get away with their crime and keep their illegal wealth.

Do you honestly in your hearts of hearts believe this balderdash you write everyday? I feel embarrassed for you, I really do

When you have no answer attack the poster, would you like links to everything I have written ? I can provide them.

You know full well I can't answer due to draconian laws!

  6. I thought monks were not allowed a political opinion or to discuss politics.....

Maybe you missed the antics of monk-turned-protest PDRC leader Luang Pu Buddha Issara who with his armed guards and followers frequently occupied government facilities, blocked public highways and bridges, and attacked police to help PDRC shutdown and overthrow the Yingluck government?

If Suthep or Issara has an once of spirituality or monkhood in them then local bar girl Nok is a Saint and a Nun

Funny you should say that, I saw he yesterday

  8. 25 Responses to this thread already.

Yet everybody living in Thailand know that the person who was driving the car will leave the police station in a few days and continue his normal life and his insurance will pay for the damages.

    Blows my mind.

Only in Thailand you will be jailed for 18 years if you say or write the truth about somebody but walk spot free if you kill a lot people.

    "Love this country"?

    For what reason?

You remind me muslims in Europe..Coming to another country and starting to teach locals what they should or shouldn't do.

Possibly the worst comparison ever madecrazy.gif. Are you really that dim?

  9. Not helping injured people - 10 years jail minimum. Doesn't matter intoxicated or not. Leaving badly wounded people suffering on the scene only thinking about yourself is LOWER than low. Piece of filth.

RIP to the victim who died.

Before they require drivers to render aid to victims, they need to put in place good Samaritan laws that protect the drivers from being prosecuted if their "help" is seen to cause further injury, as help from the untrained is prone to do.

It would also be helpful to put in meaningful punishment for vigilante justice that often sees drivers who don't do a runner beaten and even killed by angry bystanders and folks from the other vehicle.

The long term residents I work with, all tell me the best thing to do in an accident with injuries is to get away, contact the company attorney, and let him deal with it. And these aren't Thai guys. These are Brits, Canucks and Yanks.

Yes, that's true. On the other hand in the one instance I required the assistance of 'good samaritans' ( having fainted and cut my head open because of a low blood pressure issue) they were readily forthcoming...all Thai and they assistance they rendered was wonderful. I suspect it is the guilty and guilt-ridden who hide behind the good samaritan issue as a way to flee in a cowardly manner.

Agreed. I had a serious motorcycle accident here sustaining severe injuries. There were two people at the scene and they rushed to help me, an old man sweeping the street and a female, roadside food vendor. A HiSo woman following in a Benz parked her car behind me to protect me. They called an ambulance and phoned my wife to tell her where I was and what had happened. There are good people here, as you and I found out.

Of course there are good people here, we just hear about all the scum & people who are above the law

  10. Onlookers didn't intervene. What kind of sick society is this?

here we go Thai bashing again and claim some onlookers are representative for a society! it's you who is sick! w00t.gif

It isn't Thai bashing...it's the Thai norm to look the other way while someone is getting the s^#t beat out of them...if it doesn't concern me then it's not my problem. In a civilized country, this would be called accessory to the fact.

To be fair there was a video a few weeks ago where a Thai guy was beating the sh1t out of a policeman who he had king hit from behind. Two women who worked at the gas station intervened and saved his life.

  11. if they are serious they would put patrol cars on the roads to catch them breaking the law but it will never happen. Maybe even a law that stops anyone from supplying any alcohol to anyone under the influence would also help, make it illegal to serve those that are drunk. They need to come down on them hard, all they do now is slap them on the wrist, maximum jail sentences for anyone causing an accident due to their drinking, large fines and seizing their cars would also be a great start

There are enough laws in Thailand. It's just the fact none of them are enforced.

Here is the English version of the Thai traffic laws. Some mind boogling stuff in this document.

  12. Drastic Action Without Leniency ?

Will that include those who pay an on the spot fine, the ' do you know who I am ? / you should know who I am ' protected individuals etc.

A PM telling the BIB to conduct more breath tests, does the Farce not have a national chief or is he too busy with the stock market ?

Way too busy counting his baht

  14. A lot of people over here have got champagne tastes with brown ale money. I know it happens in the west too, but an i phone in the UK/tablet is not a massive chunk out of most people's salary. Neither are the payments on a car. Quite a lot of people in Thailand have car repayments almost as much as their salary!!

  15. Or Plan B increase productivity,I see a lot of shops with 3 assistants filing their nails, yet a simple purchase can take forever while they check price and change 3 times I realize they may be on commission only and have to make up any losses but there and in many government offices I see plenty of folks who could exert themselves a tad more without exhaustion.

Oddly in a nation that needs to improve language skills it is illegal for many native speakers to give even voluntary lessons and they cannot be employed at age 60 when at the peak of experience

Filing nails? More like monging on their phones!
