  1. I currently use a local hospital in Pattaya to buy Ozempic but with the Dr. Fee the price is 12,200 for the 1mg pen. (This is the cheapest price in Pattaya out of all of the hospitals and online pharmacies I have contacted).

MedConsult in Bangkok quoted me a price of 22,000 + 350 baht delivery to Pattaya for 2 months. So, essentially 11,150 baht for one month. I have read some reviews online of poor customer service and orders not arriving as scheduled by their courier service.

Does anyone here have first-hand experience of ordering online from MedConsult and was it a positive one? Also, I am assuming their products are genuine.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

That is only for passport renewal, for visitors visa they return the Thai passport with the visa by courier.

As for the OP question I don’t know why not, my wife has just done hers and didn’t have that problem.  Maybe change to a different browser ?

Thanks for you suggestion. I have just tried with a different browser but still have the same issue.

It is looking like it an extra trip for my wife to pick up her passport and visa when her visa application has been processed.

  3. I would like to use the courier option which is only 308 baht to have my wife's passport and hopefully UK visa returned.

The drop down country box which is set at Thailand is greyed out. When I have filled out all of the mandatory fields I cannot proceed to the next step ''Continue'' (to payment) which is at the bottom because I am unable to insert Thailand since it is greyed out.

Anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions. Her appointment at VFS Global is next week. If this won't work online will she be able to pay at the appointment to have her passport returned by courier?image.thumb.png.7ca038d27085c3f60eb93bed8d8f1469.png

  4. I am applying for a 6 month standard visitor visa, for my wife, to visit the UK.

How do I show evidence that myself, as a sponsor ''is not, or will not be, in breach of UK immigration laws at the time of your visit.''

Also my wife has not left Thailand since 2017, do I need to upload any of her previous passports? I have answered the question confirming that her last visit to the UK was in 2017.

Our children attended international schools here (Kindergarten through grade 12), and although they are verbally fluent in Thai from speaking Thai in the home and with their Thai friends, they would not be able to hold a job that required professional-level reading and writing Thai. They did have the usual Thai language classes in school much the same as your daughter.

They have all graduated and gone on to university in the US and have not expressed any desire to return to Thailand to live and work.

Given the cost of both their international schooling here plus US university, I would find it difficult to justify the expense when contemplating Thai salary levels. Perhaps when they are better established in their careers they could consider coming back if they wanted to start their own company or had a position with a large multinational firm that would give them a generous expat package. But it is their call in any event.

Etaoin, thank you very much for your reply. It is most appreciated.

  6. My 7 year old daughter is in a mid-tier international school (year 3) that follows the IGCSE curriculum. She is half Thai and half English. Whilst her written, spoken and understanding of English language is very good and commiserate with where she should be at her age her Thai is not.

There are only 2 Thai lessons per week in her school time table. She can speak and understand Thai to a reasonable level though not to the level of a student at a Thai school. She is unable to read or write Thai at present. Her mother teaches her as best as she can but works very long hours running her business.

My question is if I hire a Thai tutor at weekends and in the school holidays going forward would it be a reasonable expectation that my daughter over time would be able to read and write Thai, understand the Thai TV channels, be able to read Thai newspapers and so forth and to what standard? I accept that being immersed in English all day at school she is never going to speak, read & write like a native Thai.

I would be very interested to know how other parents in this situation with older half Thai children dealt with this issue and to what level of reading and writing their children attained.

My overarching concern, albeit a long way off, is that if my daughter ultimately decides to work in Thailand whilst having a good quality education at an international school with internationally recognised qualifications she may be at a disadvantage if her Thai reading & writing is not to a native standard.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated from parents that have already travelled this path with children that have already graduated or with children that are still in an  international school and what are you doing to improve your child's Thai language reading/writing would be most welcome.

  7. I have busted seal by the looks of it on the outside of my house water filter.

Can anyone recommend a company or person to change this and to service both the big and small water filters also.

Someone with a little English speaking ability would be preferable but not essential.

I would suggest you try SCB, as there you still could become 1.5% interest even as foreigner. The only complicated could be to open an account with them.

The money would be available right away. Check for further details with SCB.

Kasikorn and KrungThai also have accounts with 1.5%, but as foreigner you can't open this special accounts ????

Thanks very much. I will look into that.

  9. I'm enquiring about the UK one. I have managed to get an appointment for the 26th May (standard service). I would have preferred to pay for the priority service as I will now have to change the dates of our flight back to the UK.

Even testing the the super priority service there are no appointments all next week. (I cannot believe this is accurate since it costs 40,000 baht).

Anyway I got to the make a payment page and it has summarily rejected 3 of my credit cards so far...(All have good balances etc).

  10. I have been trying to book an appointment at VFS in the Trendy building for my wife to take her documents down, biometric test etc.

Each time I try to book a date in the payment section all the dates are booked even a month in advance, yet they are yet are showing certain time slots are available for any particular dates I want within say the next seven days.

This isn't a glitch in the system as it been like this the last 4 days. I've tried on thee different computers now.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

  11. Its usually the people who can't afford to buy that trot out the ''it's better to rent'' line most times.

Rubbish, these are wise heads that don't like making a huge loss.

    Wise heads lol

Well I've been in the same place for 15 years & have saved a fortune on rent. Typically about ฿100,000 per month for a unit in my condo of comparable size. There has also been a substantial increase in the value of my property. No huge losses here.

A "rise in value" can only be proved at the time of sale and when the cash is in the bank !

    Yes of course.

Going on sales of similar sized units over the years I'm highly confident that there will be no huge losses here.

And move when the neighbor from hell moves in next door or any of the 1000's of things that can happen in Thailand that you never saw coming.

Yes I concede that if there are many units per floor then this may be a problem. There are only two other units on mine. I rarely see my neighbours.

  14. I was in Amorn yesterday fixing a TV remote I dropped on the floor. It took them two minutes and the cheeky engineer tried to bill me 200 baht before dropping to 100 & then 50 baht.

I did point out that they were selling the same remote new for just 120 baht.
