But you can be a member of the Thai civil service and steal 88 million from funds destined for the poor and not even have the threat of arrest hanging over you.
What a bunch of BS ?

These knuckle draggers in the NACC have done precisely nothing in 4 months. CSI LA categorized the watches on a chart, 25 different ones yet the NACC are disputing that.
In a real country this is what should and does happen to corrupt officials https://news.cgtn.com/news/3151444d316b7a6333566d54/share.html
This will have a silver lining though, neither the NACC or NCPO can claim to have any credibility now as people of integrity. The proof is in the pictures and the piss poor attrmpt at a whitewash

Incredibly sad for this man. What an awfully tragic way to go. His daughter will suffer a lot for this which is heartbreaking.

8 minutes ago, YetAnother said:how revealing ! shows the mindset of the current rulers; keep the public unthinkingly stupid and unresistant;
as a sidebar, this guy who Should know the items cited in the main article, doesn't; what does he do all day ? sleep ?
Yes he probably does sleep most of the day while conscripts and junior soldiers keep his houses and cars in pristine condition.
But on the main point, any election will be a farce. The political ban will be lifted but there will be a similar setup to the referendum where direct campaigning will be banned and all non-military parties getting their rallies shut down while the current junta is allowed to continue pumping billions to the Thai niyom scheme recipients.
There is no hope yet

Typical feminazi BS. Men are bastards, women are never wrong, men can't control themselves yada yada yada.. Pathetic.
There is an issue of course but I don't think man bashing is going to help anyone really.
Also she is one of the ugliest models i've ever seen ?

Their only motive is an election within the time frames that you have assured various world political leaders you would stick to.
These groups are constitutionally entitled to protest peacefully, their demands are reasonable and don't threaten any particular person.
I have a theory that the reason all the delays could be due to another serious event that is unmentionable but certainly on the horizon, and would guarantee that all sides cease and desist for a set period. If they are clinging on for that it is abysmally low even by this regime's already gutter level standards

An utterly immoral ruling. Good on Andy for getting away while he could.
They won't get a penny out of him and their company name is tarred so I doubt Andy will worry an iota.

How does paying a tax clean up.the environment though. I would have thought those 2 stroke stinkers ridden around by dirt poor folk would need taxing before a bike over 50k baht which is probably newer, runs cleaner and is more efficient would.
I wonder what initiatives this tax would help to fund rather than some unscrupulous officials' unearned opulent retirement plans

What sheer gall this pig of a man has to chastise others about breaking the law, and laws that an illegal junta made up after conducting a coup.
Prawit has very clearly benefited from a lifetime of corruption as even his declared income of 80 million baht vastly dwarfs what his income as an army member would have been over a 50 year career.
And let's not forget he is still under investigation for the watches and should be made to step aside til that's done and dusted. A disgusting creature and even more disgusting situation brewing here

What a farce. He said he borrowed them and that he has submitted the information already.
Surely calling in said lenders would help as they should be more than happy to come on in and confirm such an upstanding guy's story and stop this ghastly witch hunt in its tracks.
Or maybe nobody knows how to deal with such a steaming pile of BS as its just too ridiculous to entertain.

Hope the judge at the trial takes the dimmest of views with this cretin's lack of responsibility and compassion.
I don't know what the maximum sentences are for his charges but he should get all of them

Pathetic. A few E's and some Kellogs is nothing. They'll be no harm to anybody taking either of those.
Go find some real crooks for crying out loud ?

If their aim was to try and take away some of Bangkok's sparkle, and with it a good number of people's livelihoods with it they've done a damn fine job.
In short, the junta have been a disaster

It's become a complete monster imo. Alcohol and the general chaotic nature of it makes a whole heap of already not very bright people do even more crazy / reckless things than they normally would.
A couple of hours of it around midday when i can take my little girl out is actually quite good fun for me and her because people are sober still and it has a more peaceful / happy feel.
In the late afternoon big groups are totally wasted and are quite menacing (like what is described in the OP).
It is what it is though, any measures that are effective in making it a little mord family friendly am all for

What a dog act by the 2 attackers. Once u start laying the boot into someone on the deck it should be mandatory jailtime.
Pattaya is not a bad place at all, just a lot of proper wrong uns there these days (more so than in days gone by).
I wonder that when once these spineless attackers get lifted they'll be charged with tarnishing Pattaya's reputation.. And no doubt the UK gutter press will be all over this like a cheap suit also ?

Embarrassing but not at all surprising.
As cute and cuddly as SOME of the strays are, they are a menace for a whole host of reasons. Some of them look in an utterly atrocious condition and are likely to have multiple diseases.
It's simply unacceptable for the authorities to shift the blame here, as the authority in charge it is THEIR job to ensure regulations are clear, followed and enforceable.
The soi dog problem in Thailand really is a blight on the country, and is undoubtedly the sort of thing that will keep the high roller tourists that are so keenly sought well away from the country

Err what? This is barbaric, they deserve a telling off sure, but at the end of the day they're just kids who have not been mentored vety well (if at all).
Now if it were that <deleted> of a woman who robbed 80 million baht from the poor tied to the tree i'd be all for some harsh beatings, and sell tickets for the occasion too.

Abhorrent practice even if done transparently.
I believe that discounts should be available for certain age groups or for large groups / families coming together.
I won't visit places where such pricing policies are in force. It's a scam that is in no party's wider interests to persevere with

This is stupid, if he is still wanted then why has his page disappeared off the site?
And surely to get it back and viewable again shouldn't be difficult at all.
Their arrogance, indifference and general ability to spin a believeable lie are all shocking ?

And mo mention of disbanding the absolute shambles that is the NACC. They don't even have the balls to tackle corruption against certain individuals even when the evidence of corruption is overwhelmingly blatant (Somyot / Prawit).
These fools need to stop spouting BS, they have zero credibility in their past to suggest they're up to the job

Not sure what to make of this, the public are FURIOUS about this, probably the most so I have seen in my years here. This fat idiot is going to have to plead guilty as the evidence is too strong and he'll have to change his plea at the last minute because the court WILL find him guilty of everything.
The only thing I can see as an out for this guy is that the trial date will be ages from now, and with so many charges it will become such a long, drawm out affair that any verdict will be years from now & the public anger will have switched to something else as fresh scandals are a dish served up on an almost daily basis in this country

Tourism and Sports Minister confirms safety of Thailand as tourist destination
in Thailand News
Posted
In some respects it is pretty safe, and some areas certainly are well policed and any crime that does happen is tackled fairly well and in good time.
However in some areas such as on the roads it is an absolute nightmare, just look last week alone at the number of bus deaths for one.
The tourism minister is deluded if they're declaring tourism in general as safe, the stats are ugly for a reason
