Lower than pond scum. In a civilized country a person regardless of social or wealth status simply wouldn't be able to get off so leniently when 9 people have died as a result of one's reckless behaviour.
Simply, a diabolical legal system should bear the most scorn as it is clearly not serving the interests of the victims of criminal actions, or society at large.
A sickening story, gets worse every time it's updated

An absolutely ridiculous regulation. Completely unnecessary and rife for abuse by those in a uniform who aren't so well intentioned.
I would guess that reporting and movement restrictions for Thai nationals on bail (after conviction) for crimes up to and including murder don't have to adhere to such anal regulations.

4 minutes ago, Denim said:A fine example of ' How not to ' parenting.
I mean ...... these parents are just so dumb it beggars belief.
But because they have momey that makes it ok. Thai logic 101.
Did the boy survive btw? Oh and they claimed he was trained to ride a big bike, that in itself should be on the rap sheet

Anupong, he of x amount of corruption scandals fame. This story, like practically every other similar one, will be forgotten when the next scandal surfaces... Either in hours or days.
The country will never reduce corruption with the methods it currently employs, in fact it will more than likely snowball

Well another coup i imagine would not be welcomed by anybody, and they would need to follow the Burma / North Korea model which quite simply would be catastrophic for Thailand's stability in the medium term, let alone long
I wonder how a coup would be justified as it is his own party that is causing all the commotion. Frankly the last 5 years have been an utter disgrace, the country simply couldn't survive a repeat

What a complete plum. The country is going to go down the toilet while it gets plundered from within by those degenerate hyenas who just muscled / bought their way into parliament.
And to be fair if Somkid was referring to his personal economic future being rosy, i'd say his hunch is probably a good one

A damning indictment of Thailand's descent into the gutter that either of these rotten ego maniacs are even employed by the state, smh...

Where to even begin with this. Probably the most pathetic part is that trusty "damaged Pattaya and Thailand's reputation" line.
Unless they're shutting down the 1000 plus other bars and gogos in Pattaya I am not buying whatever reasoning they give.
What a complete $#it show as usual ????

Absolutely farcical. Soi 6 is arguably the naughtiest bar street in the world, and these plastic cops shutting down only 1 bar on the soi and then patting themselves on the back ????
I do hope that other bars close by are unaffected as a lot of the staff will be less able to make the money they need in a safe environment
On a different note though, good to get the underage girl out though, even though the method was more than a little O.T.T

More balls than sense.. Good luck and fair to him, he'll need both when the army come a callin..
There are other foreigners here who are actively involved in political stuff. It's good that they care more for the greater good than their personal safety

Let me guess, no direct questioning of the PM will be allowed. Palang Pracharat have the right to dismiss out of hand anything the opposition puts to them...

By far the dirtiest election i've ever seen. The silver lining is that the incompetence and mismanagement that will prevail in the coming years will make all of those associated with this ghastly pro-junta coalition completely unelectable in the future.
Thaksin is a completely spent force now. New players will win the day in the elections of the future

In other news, old pady actually sent to jail and fined 150k for a land dispute.. I don't buy the flask excuse, the video doesn't look to support his excuse either

Already started the stonewalling under the guise of openness. My guess is that there'll be 20 or so who abstain from voting while around 200 will nominate Prayuth.
I doubt he'll get 376 votes though, a lot of people only care of the trough and know Prayuth to be far from a man of his word.
I don't think this is as cut and dried as people think

And how much of that budget will be siphoned off by cronies? And what reputable firms will be brought in to ensure a tip top job?
This mafia don mayor wannabe needs to prove his worth. He's been there ages already and done sweet FA that'll be useful in the medium term let alone long

Despicable. 8 years off because he confessed, in spite of all the evidence pointing to guilt otherwise.
Illegal loggers get 30 years reduced to 15, i see a huge injustice here.. She should serve the full 16

Well these idiots should be taught a lesson and given the maximum allowable for assault with weapons, and also a nice bill for the hospital and compensation for the injured British guy.
I'd say they're just lucky the victim wasn't Chinese or it'd be a major loss of face for the nation

Can't fault the justice system on this one. Swift, harsh justice for all concerned in this dreadful crime.
Hopefully it'll deter other cash hungry relatives in Thailand from trying any such acts to make a fast buck

And where exactly will all these hoardes of tourists be staying?
Obviously the airbnb gig will absorb a lot of the Chinese, but that's getting some mini crackdown action. But what about the record numbers of other nationalities?
I just don't trust these figures at all, seems too high

The BMW driver is a moron. Appalling driving, should get booked for it retrospectively as the cops surely now have enough grounds and reason to haul the idiot in, won't hold my breath though

Indeed, how many years has Pattaya not had any high quality water treatment facilities set up to tackle what will now be enormous volumes of wastewater from both hospitality and industry.
Without astronomical investment and world class engineering being spent, this kind of incident will be magnified and far more frequent in the future.
It's absolutely dreadful that those in local government care only for fattening their wallets in times of crisis.

This is just stupid, they'll just pull out their wallets as usual, and the bent officials on both sides will continue to do as they do.
Any more news on the judge down south? Or is the committee set up still deliberating? ????

Class act: Thai teacher learns how to make English lessons fun

Style over substance. And what learning is taking place? And could (considerable) time spent applying make up have been better spent on preparing materials?
Just looks like a cheap gimmick to me. And for the record i am a qualified, licenced teacher with 13 years experience across 3 continents, so I am in a position to comment
