The guy claiming the cops are dogs cettainly has a point. This is an appalling crime regardless of who committed it.
I can almost guarantee it'll be labelled a misunderstanding like always. Hope the young kid is alright now

People will slag off America's election credentials simply because they can't fathom why people voted Trump in 3 years back.
The USA are just doing what any friendly country can do here, almost a standard response.
In my opinion they should be more damning if the investigations clear the EC of any wrongdoing prematurely.
China is the problem here, they see no harm in what has been done & will continue throwing money Thailands way, and it'll continue to be gobbled up by those of the more crooked persuasion

I understand the need for border security, but treating all foreign visitors as potential criminals whose whereabouts need to be confirmed under threat of arrest simply isn't the way forward.
This initiative is hardly likely to be welcomed by any side, be it the tourists or the tourism operators / hoteliers.
Thailand needs less buraecracy, not more

By all means have a referendum, however discount a remain option from the ballot paper as that was discounted in 2016 and the leave result hasn't yet been honoured.
The referendum should pertain to the terms of any future exit plan.

2 hours ago, webfact said:EU sets April 12 Brexit date if Britain fails to back deal
By Gabriela Baczynska and William James

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Britain could leave the European Union without a Brexit deal on April 12 if lawmakers fail next week to back Prime Minister Theresa May's agreement with Brussels, EU leaders said after a crisis summit in Brussels on Thursday.
With just a week to go until Britain risks lurching out into legal limbo at midnight (2300 GMT) next Friday, EU leaders gave May an extra two months, until May 22, to leave if she wins next week's vote in parliament. But she failed to convince the other 27 that she would succeed, prompting a frantic seven hours of talks to find a way to get Britain out without seeming to push.
The conclusion was a deal that suggested that Britain could, if May fails, come back and ask for a much longer delay. But this would be on the condition -- likely a major stumbling block -- that it takes part in elections to the new EU parliament on May 23. For it to do so, British election law says that would have to be announced six weeks beforehand, by April 12.
If it does not call an EU election, Britain will be out.
"The European Council agrees to an extension until 22 May 2019, provided the Withdrawal Agreement is approved by the House of Commons next week," the statement said.
"If the Withdrawal Agreement is not approved by the House of Commons next week, the European Council agrees to an extension until 12 April 2019 and expects the United Kingdom to indicate a way forward before this date for consideration by the European Council."

-- © Copyright Reuters 2019-03-22Blackmail, pure and simple. Why should the UK be over a barrell to back a deal that cedes pretty much everything to the EU and gives them no rights to engage in it.
No deal exit, however tough it gets, should be the only way now. Enough. Pure farce and disgrace from all concerned

This is such a mess, it's actually embarrassing. The EU has said it won't negotiate any further with regards to a deal, so the UK parliament speaker was right in snubbing May's desperate attempt to get an already terrible deal through at any cost.
Another referendum with a much clearer picture of workable / actionable outcomes is the best way.
I still believe that leave would win, nothing the EU has done lately will have done much to change previous leavers' minds

I'm not convinced. Looks even more staged. Looks like a hostage video or something, albeit with the camera work a bit different

What a pony excuse. How about just move out of the <deleted> way.
The fine is also pathetic and inadequate. Disqualification and at the very least some kind of driver improvement course needed.

Appalling all round. Just the gall needed to whisk away the (ir)responsible driver while 2 innocent victims lay dead or dying on the ground.
Scum, and then some. The cops / courts really do need to up their game in prosecuting people like these. Condolences to all victims here

Pathetic and desperate. They still won't win many seats (if any).
They're mud, pure and simple. Phea Thai and Future Foward will likely win enough and form a coalition, before their disbandment, and then a coup will probably follow that.

In many of the crashes it is simply a case of carelessness, recklessness, or a complete lack of any driving skill or road awareness altogether.
The cops' MO is never about being proactive, as it is likely going to be confrontational and will be simply too much of an effort for them to be bothered with

If anytime summary execution is absolutely necessary then this is it. But as this is Thailand, this creature should instead rot for decades in the filthiest prison available

Still can't understand the harshness against drug offenders in this country.
The laws and attitudes of the judiciary are all wrong. Dealing at a lower level is not worse than murder, rape, battery, or other violent crimes, yet it is punished so heavily. A disgrace frankly.
And just for the record, this man I don't ever remember reading that he committed a crime on Thai soil, yet he has been banged up with no mercy. Dreadful advert for Thailand's legal system

Absolute scum. I can only hope the victim gets all money returned, with interest and compensation.
As for the perpetrators, should be at least 10 years jail as at least they'll definitely serve at least half

Literally no attempt to slow down. If you felt the brakes failing you would know long before as they don't just instantly fail.
I feel for the victims here, the pickup driver should banged up and have all his money and possessions taken to pay for the damage and medical costs. 100% driver error, the brake failure excuse is just pathetic

Not heard much about inactive posts so much nowadays. So maybe they'll revive it by putting this idiot in one.
Or failing that it'll all be a misunderstanding and dealt with as an internal matter.

What calibre of idiot would go out of their way to make a policy that right off the bat makes their company's product both inferior and less competitive than the competition....

It matters not. Both entities are mud in the eyes of many.
This is just another own goal fuelled by incompetence and downright cowardice. They will fare horribly in the election

It's a shame that the Thai jails are not like the Latin American ones as if the cons already inside got wind of his crimes he would (deservedly) suffer the most agonizing and brutal death at their hands.
It would be interesting to know when he is convicted, just so we can be sure the punishment will fit the crime as it rarely seems to here

They indicated that they intend to deny the charges.
The judge should dish out the maximum allowable sentences when they are found guilty then.
This is absolutely abhorrent behaviour, and it should be stepped on with the full weight of the law as a means to deter others and harshly punish the culprits

Very dangerous ground here. I like Labour's policy ideas in general, I also have a lot of time for Corbyn, but this sounds like jumping on a bandwagon for me.
At the time of the first referendum it is impossible to argue that the EU was in good shape, the undocumented migrant crisis was in full swing and the EU simply couldn't control it.
Now that issue is resolved somewhat, the EU looks more stable, however I have found their leadership's stance on negotiatioms galling in the extreme.
.
A no deal Brexit is a huge leap into the unknown, but i can't see how it is much worse than been in a constant limbo, with politicians squabbling and looking all at sea trying to reach a consensus.
It's an absolute embarrment right now

Everybody (with a functioning brain, that is) knows that Prayuth is absolute mud in almost every way. It's a shame that this debate will never come to pass though as his handlers know just how dreadful he will be, and that the inevitable crash and burn will be too big and brutal to cover up

It's fine the way it is. It should be more pressing a concern to rein in those who want to censor and restrict people's access to information.
Fake news, as it has often been labelled, can easily be debunked. So by crimininalizing fake news, you might as well criminalize stupidity and laziness also while you're at it
Police prepare as Future Forward boss set to face sedition charges

A pure BS charge. 4 years down the line and the charge morphs from abetting suspects to sedition.
If it was that serious then, why wait 4 years to bring him in. This is a badly hatched plan to kill his credibility / political career. And neither will have the desired effect as it'll only make a bigger martyr out of him.
His popularity grows by the day, and with good reason. Everything he's said appears to be on the money
