I didn't know that . How did you find out that the Brit was taking steroids ? I may have missed it as the thread is quite long and I haven't read it all . Was the Brit in the Pharmacy buying some steroids ? My gosh you are being rather neurodivergent today !!... ... I was 'ticking the 'roided up angry Brit stereotype' box.... thats all... ...... I could have equally ticked the 'grumpy boomer sex-pest who didn't get any last night' box.... ... but, don't ask if the Brit was in the Pharmacy buying condoms... its just a stereo type... and the original response was in to BritMan with the bemusement that a couple of 'well known' forum 'Brit-bashers' are not all over this thread like a fat auntie at a seafood buffet !!!....

Its completely 'Rabbit-Holish' you want to see CCTV footage of a non-event to check if the Op 'had it coming' when a British-tool became verbally aggressive..... Any idea how ridiculous you seem ???... ...I think we need to see CCTV footage to prove you are not smoking the same shyte Gamma does !!!!! (apologies - switched the wording around to avoid a naughty word.... )....

It doesn't matter what you write and how accurate it is.... You will be contradicted because there is only one person on this forum who is allowed to 'know anything' about road safety.... His comments are 'text book theory' - ignore a lot of the realities of the real world and human nature... Yours is a perfect example.... how you rightly highlight how other area's have worse conditions, worse roads, worse driver education yet better road fatality stats... ALL 'he' would in this is racism' and for sure, he'll drop that accusation as he does every time his 'text book theory' is shown to be flawed in the real world. There... 100%...

Is it highlight likely ???.... Is not just just as likely that he wrote of a very odd event that involved another foreigner who was a remarkable nobster ???.... Video footage ??? - I think you may have gone a little too far down this rabbit hole, Nick.... Possibly, there are always three sides..... But, regardless, the other guy was offering to fight the Ops - escalation to violence... Some guys are just remarkably unhinged, and given the Ops comments in this thread, he does not appear to be 'a type of unhinged angry character'... Yep, I think it was probably this... If we are honest with ourselves I think we can all be a little short sometimes, usually due to patience being tested being driven by the other person not paying attention... I recall a few times ordering a bottle of Gin at 7-11.... I know Gin isn't common, so some staff don't know what it is... .... So, I'll order Gin, Green Bottle (my Thai is good enough for that)... Firstly I'll get the 'eyes don't believe the ears' as the staff doesn't register I'm speaking Thai... So then I'll have to tell them I'm speaking Thai, then point them to the bottles, then say the Green one, as they keep trying to get any other colour than green... and I keep saying, no, right some more, green bottle, no, right some more, green bottle etc etc... until another 'exasperated member of staff' steps in a gets exactly what I asked for..... I can see how 'some' wanna-be hero may see my exasperation and decided I've offended the whole of Thailand as my don't deteriorated from 'nice and friendly' to 'exasperated'.... Meanwhile at other times, I order... one simple sentence and get exactly what I want... We're not all perfect... and for those of us capable of being honest with ourselves sometimes our tone belies our underlying frustration or exasperation - thats perfectly human IMO and not cause for some tool to step in and want to get violent - thats on him being an ayhole and not anything else.

I think if I started a thread about ordering a coffee and complained that I got a Macchiato instead of an Espresso the replies would be something along the lines of... 1) If you don't like it go home 2) learn Thai 3) its your own fault for not making your own coffee 4) life must be boring if you have to start a thread about this 5) Go to a different coffee shop 6) why are you always starting problems 7) you may have been dressed poorly 8) your accent was too strong People just love a pile on !!!

British dad mysteriously vanishes in Bangkok
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
You mean, other than the fact that he didn't call his son on his Birthday, has not communicated in a couple of weeks... has had his phone turned of and is not responding to any messages (which clearly show great convern)... ....sure just bad air... -
I would not have mentioned that personally. We had a problem with our EV - minor issue with the 12v battery not recharging - a small 'control unit' that directs charge to the 12v battery to charge up... (it was simply swapped out - a plug and play chip set I think).... The dealership gave us a NETA to borrow... while waiting for the spare part 2 days... ... I thought the NETA was a lethal thing, a tin-can, frightening on the expressway above 80kmh... after a day we called up and said its too dangerous, like sitting in a coke-can, we'll return it - its better not to have anything !!! they prepared us a larger car - but the following day ours was fixed to no issues. All I can say for the NETA is that you can't 'fall off it' like you can a motorcycle, so its safer and also has more storage !!!... But, for the price - its a cheap - shopping run vehicle, though I wouldn't want to travel far in it.

This forum generally thinks that you were in the wrong on this issue . You were being rude and abusive to a woman and the Brit guy taught you some manners I think there's more to it than that.... here's why... Forum Pile On - the Op tells a story and it seems to be the temperament of this forum to attack the 'story teller'... nearly always... 'should've done something else, should've spoken Thai, should've... should've... etc... .... This just seems like a fairly normal sitation of a misunderstanding that became slightly strained and some other pi!!ok nearby felt Thai'er than the Thai's, got offended on behalf of the Thai, wanted to take the issue further - he was the aggressor. I've seen guys like this.. they've usually not been here a long time, tend to think Thai's never argue or swear, tend to think Thai's are polite 100% of the time and never have understanding that in reality, Thai's are just human beings and people and no different than we 'Westerners' are.... I don't think this was the Ops fault, he 'perhaps' could have make more effort to conduct his 'tone' in a softer manner more befitting of kinder communication, but thats about it (other than learning Thai) - whereas the other guy was clearly spoiling for physical aggression.... Unless the op was telling the shop assistant something offensive... i.e. Eff Off, go eff yourself, you idiot etc etc.... then it seems all he was doing was 'making emphasis' on the size of the item he wanted becasuse the shop assistant was not listening.... no biggie, they got there in the end.... .... its also clear that the Shop assistant took no offence and even asked the Op if he knew the 'other guy' who was behaving like t!t... *or the end of a bell.... ... So no - I don't think the 'Op was the issue'... the other guy WAS the issue.... BUT, the Op could learn from this and try and communicate in a softer manner in future... The other guy.. 100% 'end... of bell'....

Ignore it, some natural born to$$er is trolling the thread with the 'confused emojis'...

Not on our car... the connection via Apple Car Play is automatic via Bluetooth (after the initial first time connection) - no cables. It seems the Atto 3 has AppleCar play and AndroidAuto - so I'm guessing both would work without a cable - I'm not certain though.

100% agree.... I had a 'bit of a tit' of a driver last night when going out, so I didn't speak to him other than to give directions. However, on the way home, while also quite pished up I had a good chat with the bolt driver... turns out his day job is a photographer and he had some pretty expensive equipment (Sony Alpha series and lenses).. he also had some decent drones, once we'd got my house we carried on chatting for a short time while he showed me some of his drone footage on his YouTube channel... A lot of the Bolt and Grab drivers are very decent chaps and a world apart from 'taking your chances' with a flag-fall taxi driver who won't use the meter.

I've used deeMoney in the past (but only for about 500,000 baht). I recently transfered a larger amount out of Thailand via Crypto i.e. for example.. (amounts are not true) 5 Million Baht in Bitcoin held on BitKub Transfered to a ColdWallet Transfer from Cold Wallet to Kraken (could be any - binance etc) Transfer from Kraken to your overseas account You could make the transfer direct from Bitkub to Kraken but I'm not sure about other issues, taxes etc.

5 Frenchmen arrested for running police checkpoint in Phuket
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
You're not French by any chance are you.... Or at the risk of bringing in another 5 page irrelevant debate... a French-Arab ??? -
Could be.... a very quick google search brings up this Vid... though I'm not sure if the 'software' is the same as that in on the Atto in Thailand.

They are deliberate and posted by idiots.... Some people like to troll others and place a 'confused' or 'sad' emoji on any post made by someone they've had a 'forum disagreement' with in the past... I see it happen to others to such a degree we can almost tell who the offending poster is. It would be much better if people could see who posted what to avoid the trolls.... (and also include, IF someone is in your 'ignore list' any emoji they add shouldn't stick.... Bigger picture though - its just a forum and doesn't really matter.

Then you are not 'educated enough' at all.... there's nothing wrong with Chinese cars. Bigots used to say the same thing about Japanese cars 40 years ago, then about Korean Cars 20 years ago... I agree with the carbon-footprint issue... but again, you miss a large point of EV's which is 'moving the the emissions away from centres of high population' i.e. assisting in keeping the air in the cities in which most people live 'cleaner'... Anyway - there are enough other threads about the pro's and con's of EV's - This thread is about Yodarapper's new car which you are attempting to derail with dumb comments about 'going up in a puff of smoke' - highlighting that you don't understand that EV's have far less chance of catching fire than ICE's - once again outlining your lack of education on this point.

5 Frenchmen arrested for running police checkpoint in Phuket
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Many times more Thais are stopped at checkpoints around Thailand everyday than foreigners. The vast majority of checkpoints would hardly have a foreigner going through them. i am always waved through while the Thais on motorcycles are stopped. To think that more foreigners than Thais pay these fines or bribes daily in Thailand makes me think you are suffering from delusional paranoia. anyway cute you are also apologizing for the French. Perhaps in area's outside of the main tourist hubs... I don't think there is a general pattern that fits the whole nation. For example, when driving or riding in Bangkok - the Police are simply not interested in me, I have hardly ever been stopped at a check-point - the same can very likely be said for other area's away from tourist footfall, smaller towns etc. But, there are a lot of comments from posters who live in area's such as Pattaya and Phuket which makes it obvious that the police are more 'calculated' in how they can best profit from their check-points. Its obvious they've worked out that many 'tourists' in these area's do not have the correct licenses etc - its a very quick money earner - if YOU don't think this to be true Malcy the delusional Thai-apologist in you is once again unmistakable, no surprise there.
