It seems unlikely that the father would have known that the child would go under the boat and be injured by the propeller. You would have to have advance boating knowledge to know that and to deliberately throw the boy in a way that would likely cause his death. It's not unreasonable to suspect that he viewed throwing the boy off the boat as something rather harmless (whether for fun or to punish him), not dissimilar to throwing him into a pool, and intended to save him when he jumped in. 100%.... Those stating otherwise have some unhinged, distorted wholly foocked up mentalty that perhaps alludes more to their own very unhealthy upbringing than anything else.... and beyond that... just a very very strange outlook at the world around them.....

British tourist busted in Patong for cocaine possession
richard_smith237 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
It seems you don't know what its about... A young kid caught with an unknown quantity of cocaine.... Assuming its for personal use, the behavior is no different from 100's of thousands of other youngsters in Thailand and Millions across the globe - this recreational use in a social environment is far cry from the 'images and behavior' implied by the term 'druggie'.... Thus, in using the word druggie... all you have done is highlight YOUR fundamental misunderstanding of society... -

They're based on statistics: ONS (for England and Wales) and UNDOC (for a generalised world view). ...and, your link covers only 'teens'.... not young adults.... Nevertheless.... without going sidetracking the point and going down the pathetic rabbit-hole of who has the most accurate, representative or more up to date statistics.... the 'fact' that they all represent is that 'recreational drug use' is very common..... .... Thus labelling 'recreational users' as 'druggies' serves to highlight one point - the user of such a term is too far removed from any understanding of the discussion to have any valid point, any comments they make are antiquated and ultimately quite stupid. -

Not sure why you've quoted me. I'm guessing it's a mistake. Your point reflects mine. I quoted newbee2022 - your quote was buried within his. -
maybe you didn’t read the OP? Maybe you don't understand human nature... If I'd been messing around and threw my son in the sea, then follow him in only to realise the tragic and fatal mistake I'd just made... I'm not sure I'd want to get back in a boat again, I'd rather die by any means possible rather than live with the never disappearing memory that I'd accidentally killed my son... Perhaps you are more thick skinned malcy... after all, you drink drive and already have a terribly low regard for the human life around you.

I can't feel any mercy for druggies, sorry. For me I would like to see him some years in prison. Approximately 15-25% of all 16- to 30-year-olds reported illegal drug use in the past year... Thats pretty much 1/4 of all 'youngsters' enjoying recreational drugs at the weekend and going back to school or work on the Monday..... .... These 'druggies' you mention... those 25% of ALL youngsters you would see in Prison.... Do you, even with your Victorian draconian mindset not see some very fundamental flaws in this thinking ???? -
You like making up other versions to what eye witnesses say. Wrong - you just want to create a pathetic argument because thats what you do. Eyewitnesses stated: Perhaps you are too much of an old fart and too weak to play around with your kids... But... picking up a kid and throwing him in a pool or overboard in this manner is not an abnormal act by any stretch of the imagination.... A tragic mistake was made because the Russian really didn't think through the risk of his actions when doing so on a moving boat. A lot of hot headed, bad tempered people have kids that are not suited to parenting and don’t have the patience. I bet it wasn’t the first time this kid has been abused RIP Lucas OK - you see the worst in people, rephrase, you see the worst in anyone who isn't Thai. Had this been a Thai person you would be claiming it was a tragic mistake by a playful father who horrifically miscalculated his actions. And again, you dumb down and over simplify the report to suit your 'anti-foreigner' agenda - He (the foreign father) was charged with Murder so that a bail could be denied due to the potential flight risk.... You were not intelligent enough to understand that aspect either. As usual - you cherry pick your points to suit your anti-foreigner rhetoric which is always complete and utter rubbish...

Wow.... fully lathered up and covered in effervescent bubbles up there on that mighty sanctimonious and puritanical soapbox of yours..... ... but careful, its slippery up there and its a long way down to normal reality.... ... I'm sure you've never made a single mistake, never gone through a red light, never not worn a helmet, never accidentally carried Para-co, Tramado or Tylenol-3 on a flight accidentally 'cos you are perfect, right ??? This is just a lad who made a stupid mistake - that you paint him as a 'drug lord' killing people with such hyperbolae highlights a lot more about your unhinged nature and inability to rein in your ridiculous judgment and ideas than anything else. He got caught with a small amount of recreational drugs on him - something that I'd guess over 50% of young people in that area are also carrying - hardly a crime of the century. I have nothing to do with this stuff - have never tried it, but believe it should be legalised - when taken in a controlled manner this drug Cocaine is no more harmful that getting drunk. -
I'm never actually bothered about a test drive itself... I think they are fairly meaningless... It would be useful to have a car for a weekend and go on a road trip etc... and then we can truly evaluate its ride and comfort etc... ... but in truth, its just car... all I want to do is 'sit in it' and know if I 'fit'... (as some cars are too small, and I'm no giant, but in some cars I'm too close to the pedals.... so thats all I'm really bothered about. The next thing I'm bothered about is 'after sales service' and much of that depends on reputation more than anything else (and why I have avoided manufactures such as ford and more recently Honda).

No... You don't... You don't 'know' that at all... You assume that, you guess that, you think about that... and you do so for one reason only.... It fits your politically bias narrative, and as such weakens any genuine political arguments you may have. Attacking the First Lady's attire is a pathetic attempt to slur the political party itself - its juvenile, its petty, is neurotic, it ridiculous, its childish, its immature, its has very little if anything to do with politics.... ... But to make an actual thread out of it - its desperate clawing at anything anti-trump..... and as such wholly unintelligent.

Because she looks classy an elegant... .... I'm not sure a bunch of loose shirt, sneaker wearing, baggy jeans wearing fashion despots could ever comprehend elegance. Her outfit has been admired on the 'higher stage'.... meanwhile those so masked by their political allegiances are blinding themselves and making issues out of non-events to bolster their distorted bias political outlook.
-
Or people with a different view than yours... Which would be what ??? ... Suggesting that because he is Russian, he's evil and therefore deliberately threw his son over to his death... Not Bigoted ??.... do you also carry negative bias towards 'groups' of people such as the Russians and also fit well within the descriptor of being a bigot.. ???... ... Perhaps you know this which is why you try and get out ahead of it.

A tough one... But, I think this is a horrific and heartbreaking example of 'rough and tough play' gone terribly wrong.... The poor lad to go this way is horrific, but I can't imagine any of this was deliberate, this would appear to be 'just a father throwing his son off a boat' and the consequences were tragic... I've been out in a boat (Kayak) with my son and deliberately capsicum it... I'v dunked my son in a swimming pool fully clothed while messing around.... There are lots of things that 'dads do' with their kids that a 'rough, physically, playful, tough' etc.... .... I think this is a terrible and perhaps even completely uncharacteristic tragic a lapse in thought by a father who was 'messing about playing rough with his son'..... ... A tragic accident with no malice in it whatsoever - the poor man will have to live with the consequences of a momentary lapse of judgement for the rest of his life now... Horrific. But... Because he was Russian, I now expect to read a bunch of bigoted hang'em high posts with all humanity removed.

100 tasers !!!... Definitely needed in this situation - I'm not sure why they are not far more common here. I hope not... kind of... Deportation would be way to much of a let off... This vermin needs to be spending time in a hell hole before released into the legal softness and comforts of the west.

Valid points - There's no harm in your security Camera capturing imagery from the communal areas - but this (the Op) is different as private areas are captured... the outside of the house not so much a concern, but inside seems more more an invasion of privacy.

I'm not sure about Toyota, but other dealerships are certainly offering test drivers.... I suspect this is a policy of that specific dealership, or worse still, possibly even lazy sales staff who just can't be bothered. But, I had the same issue with Honda a few years back - I was looking at an Accord, and first things first I wanted to see if I could fit in it - so I needed to move the electric drivers seats back. I asked the sales lady to get the keys so I could move the seat back... the answer... 'no have'.... This wasn't a language barrier, it was a lazy barrier... next I looked at the CRV and asked a couple of questions which the sales lady could not answer... wife and I just walked away shaking our heads - we were probably going to buy one of those cars... 'defeat snatched from the jaws of victory'... I wonder how many failed sales happen because of terrible sales service - it seems they only care about sticking a bow on a car for a photo !

you do know that when an "?" is put in a sentence what it means dont you ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? numpty It’s a question aimed at you... Now, without even knowing what car I purchased, the model, or the year, you have claimed that I paid 'full sticker price' for a recent purchase - something you can't possibly know which makes you look stupid. So, you have made a statement and a claim about something you can't possibly know, which is absurd, and instead of accepting that, you have doubled down, making yourself look even more stupid. Next, you have chosen to bring 'grammar' into the fray, as if it strengthens your argument, but you failed in your attempt to use grammar and punctuation accurately, making yourself look, you guessed it, even more stupid. Numpty indeed.....

Transfer motorbike ownership documents?
richard_smith237 replied to sanook 1's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Thanks,do we need to bring the bike also or only green book/documents will do? The motorcycle will need to be inspected if its over 5 years old. -
I wouldn't deny it... Fear is an amazing thing... No so long ago were were all wearing masks and the world shut down. If lived in a large condo I'm not sure how happy I'd be with 100 EV's from China parked underneath me... even though I'm fully aware the risk of ICE combustion is far far greater..... Just wait until we are driving around with mini-nuclear-fusion reactors under the hood.... parking 100km away only ?

How many of us here hold national protests and demand 'Jesus law' here ? I get your point, and you want to avoid hypocrisy and unbalance - but I also believe there is an exceptional difference between illegal immigration in the UK and much of the Europe and some folk circumnavigating visa regulations in Thailand.... Its a convenient argument on a binary playing field, but the waters of logic seep through the massive fractures of sense when reasonable balance is applied. When Westerners are demanding Canon Law in Thailand, when we are holding mass protests, when we are taking social security payments, using the free healthcare systems and making whole areas of towns and cities unsafe then I think there is a fair comparison..... ... until then... the similarities are too far removed and the behavior of a handful of idiot tourist and criminals is not the same as any comparison to the immigration issues the UK and Europe are facing.

Ultimately, if things turn south sabotage is the final answer... Or even a 'paintball gun' to shoot the camera !! Perhaps even a tazer - hop over the fence and fry the camera !... All worse case scenarios - a reasonable chat should resolve most issues. And if the owner is unaccommodating, then he has forced you into a course of action you would have preferred not to take.... (physically removing or interfering with camera)

And thats what I pointed out to the other guys while sat surrounding a sumptuous Makloubeh... (and yes, surprisingly enough, drinking beer and Whisky !!).... ... But, most of their friends are not in the UK for a better life, they are there to make money through whatever means possible and send it back to their home countries... to which I pointed out, thats exactly what I was doing !!! The UK and many area's of Europe are not homes for many of these folk - they are not area's to 'flee too as refugees'... they are area where they get free food, free healthcare, free money.... and if they are lucky, tax free work... They smuggled whatever than can into the countries... they are involved in smuggling each other !!... They smuggle out cars, phones, tech, equipment and other stolen items they can get hold of... anything, absolutely anything where money can be made they are involved with... Its highly enterprising... but make no mistake, its (nearly) all illegal..... and they're amused that our governments are so soft... The exception of course are those who have moved there with solid employable skills who do move and have made a better life.

Is that common in Thailand? Thx Only about 3% of Condo's / Apartments in Thailand have EV charging facilities... So its likley most don't have the option anyway. And those which do have 'power points' may not be happy with residents using 'communal power' to charge their vehicle.... so that might explain the 'ban' on charging of EVs (i.e. via a granny-charger into a regular 220v socket). But that does not explain outright the 'ban on EV's parking' there... which could be a miscommunication, or a regulation the juristic committee have passed. Lets not forget that recently one of the Ferry companies from Mainland to Koh Samui banned EV's - so its clear the waters on this matter are somewhat muddied and car from crystal clear.
