  1. Your statement was a dumbed down over simplification of the issue which fails to comprehend or account for the influence of external factors... i.e. in this case the reputation of Thai police for being corrupt and targeting foreigners and how that may have influenced the reaction of the Singaporean. One point I do agree with you on, your statement was uncomplicated - dumbed down over simplifications of a broken intellect very often are. Whats that ?... some sort of juvenile attempt to shoe-horn in the last word as some sort of win like a 7 year old in the school playground ??? - a bit pathetic don't you think... ... "Don't reply to me 'cos I don't like your answers" - the stuff of Genius !!!
  2. Is this the same computer ??? https://www.bnn.in.th/th/p/notebook/thin-light-notebook/lenovo-thin-light-notebook/lenovo-notebook-ideapad-slim-3-14iah8-83eq002yta-grey-197532760523_r61ww4?ref=search-result
  3. Panel to discuss what exactly ??? This is civil aviation law regardless of what a panel discusses. OR... is the panel actually going to discuss something slight different (which is clearly very needed after the Thai VietJet issue)... And that is 'customer service'... whererby those who alert the airline ahead of time that they are disabled are logged into the system and guaranteed a seat. The recent issue has a lot more do with poor customer service and terrible communication than it has to do with disabled people travelling.
  4. But the latter is so much more 'German' Wouldn't Baan Kraut be more German ???
  5. There's an invitation he'll struggle to refuse !!!...
  6. What mustard is in Aus ??... French Mustard, English Mustard, Dijon Mustard ??? Try Colemans English Mustard - readily available here and has a decent bit of bite... but if thats not enough bite, you may need to go more specialised.
  7. Absolutely agree.... There are loads of area's that are a lot more chill.... And when those areas become more known and commercialised 25 years later they'll be less chill.... .... then when we go back 25 years later we will have forgotten about trying to use the disgusting hole in the floor bathroom and chewy cheap food and other annoying pretenders trying to 'out chill one another' in their quest to become 'more back-packer' and encounter greater hardships on their global and self discovery than those around them etc... ... We'll just remember the chilled vibe that no longer exists because we are 'no longer that same chilled person'.... we don't want the noise or to poop in a hole in the floor !!!
  8. Such an enigma.... Are you extracting the urine again ???... I just can't tell...
  9. Yeah, it would be good to know the legality of carrying such items - its difficult to dig out specifics from the websites which are vague. Wife takes a bag of food bag to the UK... usually (about 8 kgs or so), dried stuff, noodles, spices, chilly power, chilly paste, some curry pastes etc... It keeps her happy - she doesn't want a BBQ & Salad every day in the summer... but she's started making BBQ's a lot more interesting with her additions... The same at Christmas - Bubble and Squeak on Boxing day made with Larb... *(outstanding !!!).. We're back twice per year and never get stopped - but thats kind of besides the point, we could be, so knowing the exact legality of doing this stuff is good info - with so much travel, we've just become very complacent.
  10. Perhaps when you start using emojis or language that highlights such - I really thought a long timer here would be very aware of that...
  11. Kata-rawai daily. Pass a checkpoint many times, hardly ever get stopped. Fair enough.... kind of matches my understanding (which as you pointed out before is based more on 3rd party information and media and a but of limited exposure myself). I wonder if a Kata to Patong daily trip would yield a different experience, especially Karon to Patong..... I'd argue that it would, but obviously lack the first hand information to support that bias.
  12. No... Heat is not just 'heat' - I really thought a long timer here would be very aware of that. As Kwilco mentioned, there is more to it than just heat.
  13. I think thats kind of the point... Chilli is not just chilli.... in the same way rice is not just rice.... Thai's have their specific preferences, I get that.... Wife certainly has her favourate for Chilli sauces etc.... I have my favourite Nam-Phrik-Ong.... Its the same as us having a preference for a specific type of BBQ sauce etc... or specific mustard etc... .... We get plenty of threads on here asking questions such as... 'where to guy Colemans English mustard" or "where to get Colemans mint sauce" etc etc... So, I can see why someone may want to carry their own, particularly as a small bit goes a long way. That said: Given the ambiguity of whether or not it is legal to carry Chilli oil / paste into the UK, as you pointed out, just buy it in the UK... OR.. as the Op is doing, double check for legality.
  14. Another foreigner trying to make the headlines. Yeah, but this one isn't as much fun as its harder to cry 'anti-farang' campaign when the guy in trouble is Singaporean !!!..
  15. Agreed... Everyone knows... stay well away from drugs due to the extreme, harsh and barbaric penalties such 'offences' attract. In the UK a Brit was sentenced to 25 years in prison for having a friends Vape Pen in his car (which contained THC oil)... the penalty is clearly excessive from very angle... As are the penalties towards many drugs offenses in Thailand. How many guys were serving decades for dealing Marijuana which is now suddenly legally and socially acceptable... Of course - don't do the crime etc etc.. but my point again, is how out of 'balance' the penalties seem with the actual offence committed.
  16. No.. you've been called out on your facetiousness and are now back-pedalling like an immature child trying to claim a high ground after being called out for their juvenile behavior... And next you'll ask that I stop targeting you... Don't worry, I'm not targeting you at all... I'm targeting the dumb comments that anyone may make to muddy the waters of a simple question and simple thread... Can Chilly Oil / Chilly Paste be legally carried into the UK ??? .... If this was NZ or Australia - I'd say no, airing on the side of caution. But the UK is a little more relaxed about these issues. My Wife has carried Chilly Oil / Paste into the UK, but I'm not entirely sure if this is legal. I suspect the worst that would happen if stopped and checked is the paste / oil is confiscated (whereas in Aus or NZ it could attract a fine).
  17. Pack it in your checked luggage like any normal person.... and stop being silly trying to back pedal on your earlier ridiculousness. But first, find out if its legal to carry into the UK in the first place - which is exactly what the Op is asking.
  18. In that case - ask which airport etc (which you didn't) - so now you are back-pedalling because I've called you out your irrelevant silliness. You are deliberately muddying the waters with irrelevant questions and you know it - the Op is not about 'carry on limits'....
  19. Could easily be classified as a Gel... In which case it falls under the Gels and Liquids category. But thats not the issue, neither is it the question. The question is if Chilli oil / Chilli paste can be brought into the UK or not. This question is clearly asked from the perspective of 'prohibited and restricted imports' (i.e to prevent foreign fauna, seeds, pests etc).... its not from the perspective of carrying a liquid in hand carry on an airline.
  20. Fluid Oz... because its related to the 'Carry on regulation' of 100ml which has been around for well over a decade in pretty much every nation... But, I suspect you know that and being deliberately ridiculous.
  21. Come on... really ?? (ask on here instead of a very simple google search).. Thats only relevant to the 'carry-on limitation' 100ml liquid and gels regulations... Check-in baggage may be ok with chilly oil.... I'm not sure though and a search is somewhat also unclear.
  22. Not defending the German if he is guilty.. then throw the book at him of course... But.. why is this one of the first times I've read of these potential charges... 'Failing to render aid' is a charge ?... So it is illegal to escape the scene of an incident ??? Or is this only a charge levied at non-Thai's when they 'hit and run' ??? Note any hit and run is a despicable act and needs to be punished significantly, regardless of position and nationality.
  23. No, never, not at all... I don't have much to do with dogs here anyway. We live in the city, so I consider it cruel to have a dog here. I've not even heard or dogs barking at foreigners (more than Thai's) or are slower to accept foreigners into their territory. Dogs do bark at me at the beach - I just figured these are ayhole vermin beach-soi dogs which are a complete pest on a number of beaches. Interesting... So Thai dogs, not racist, but nationalist ?? If you were to have a car accident, then hit n run, then claim brake failure - would the dog be able to detect your 'Thainess' then ? (I know facetious remark, but I thought it amusing on the Thainess comment) It seems you are suggesting that if two people are not from the area and one is a foreigner and the other is Thai the dog will be more at ease with the Thai stranger than the foreign stranger ??? Or, could it be that you see the dogs more at ease with the locals because they are localls and in-fact a Thai who's new to the area would be less 'welcomed' by the dogs ??? Is that so... I never realised that... Obviously not racist - but dogs becoming alarmed by something different I can buy into.... I guess there is something to it when you explain it...
  24. By steering clear of high risk zones... as they were warned !!!... Great isn't it... clear effective advice, nothing vague at all.
  25. OK... so it wasn't just me... I read the headline and wondered, what on earth would Thai's be doing in Haiti... (there no Thai Embassy or Consulate there - Mexico is the nearest Thai diplomatic mission). What would anyone else of any other nationality be doing there ? The only thing I can think of is relief and aid work, but are Thai's involved with that ? - perhaps on behalf of international aid organisation ? The Thai Embassy in Mexico apparently reported that it does not know of Thai's residing in Haiti, but there may be some tourists... So again, why ?... who would be a tourist to Haiti ???
