Court summons for airbnb review
richard_smith237 replied to mr_lob's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Can you edit your comments on Air-B-n-B ??? IF so, can you negotiate with him to take down your comments if he drops the case ? (that could be the simplest solution, but also involves swallowing your pride). Also, have you contacted Air-b-n-b and told them you are being sued thought a review left on their platform ? and are they going to assist ? (unlikely unless publicity gets very bad for air-b-n-b as it did with the trip-advisor Koh Chiang case). -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Indeed.... I'm flying them next week (Award seats)... I hope nothing significant enough goes wrong such that I take to social media to complain and end up getting sued... What a perfect way for a business to highlight to its customers exactly how powerless and unvalued they are !!!... -

Well, it is 'your picture' so you can see it anyway you want.... But, its clear you are uncomfortable with the situation enough to come on this forum and complain about it. Its also clear you have no intention of resolving the issue and are not interested in taking any advice on the issue. Perhaps you are 100% correct, the Thai Policeman told his brother to park in front of your house and deliberately block you in because they're both ignorant and racist against 'farangs'... and they've proven that by ignoring your and signals and your wife.... -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism

Thats 20/20 hindsight... At some point a decision has to be made... Hold for longer not knowing if the visibility will improve. Or divert while there is still enough fuel (+mandated safety margin). I'm sure there are procedures in place for this - As the SQ and QF flights held and then (as you point out) landed in Sydney, I can only assume they had sufficient fuel to hold +sufficient fuel to divert (+mandated safety margin) and the visibility improved so they could land within regulations. -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
IMO, Thai Airways used to be a decent airline... and that was about 20 years ago, planes decent, food decent, they were better than a lot of the competiton... The Middle Eastern Carriers upped their game and took over... other carriers upped their game to compete. Thai Airways seemed to stand still. IMO, they are still better than many regional carriers... so if flying to places such as India, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia etc, and not wanting to use a budget carrier, then TG are the better airline to chose. If flying to Singapore, Japan and Korea, then Thai Airways are generally priced more competitively than the main airlines of those countries. When flying long haul, Thai Airways seem not to be priced so competitively... I'd only fly them to the UK if they were a decent amount cheaper than Emirates... -

Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Exactly... he has no idea what he's discussing... He has no idea of the FAA regulations... Its more complex than this.. and some regulations vary according to airport and aircraft, but generally, for an airliner if the visibility is less than 550m the landing must be made by autopilot.... So in his videos, either the visibility was greater than 550m or it was an autopilot landing. If Thai Airways couldn't land due to low visibility and circled, its because ATC instructed them to do so... then range became an issue hence the decision to divert. So.. No criticism of the Pilots actions whatsoever. BUT, every criticism of Thai Airways' response to the criticism which simply should have 'just been ignored'.... Idiots are easily ignored, just as I'm ignoring one in this thread. -

Not looking to trip you up at all Jumbo... having started off offering advice... the story has changed a little thats all. Perhaps the reason I am interested in this thread is that you have suggested this policeman has deliberately parked his brothers car outside of your house, because you are a foreigner..... This is obviously making you feel uncomfortable, but you may be misinterpreting the signals... I've been trying get a clearer picture from you, not to catch you out, but to see if this guy really is being deliberately difficult, or is simply parking in a spaces and is not thinking any more of it... if its the latter, you have no need to feel bad about this situation and there is a simple fix. If you are drip feeding information then its difficult to get a true picture... for example, this page is the first you've mentioned that your wife got involved at all... thats new info... -

OK - you know better than FAA certified pilots and FAA regulations because you have a YouTube Video of a landing.... and Thai Pilots are pussies... As I wrote - I'm going going to argue at your level. -

Changing your story ?... You initially mentioned your wife wouldn't get involved... and now you are saying she approached the policeman, so which is it ?? And you mentioned you approached a guy with dyed hair... is it the policeman with dyed hair, or is that his 'brother' ?? You don't have to acknowledge my questions of course and ignore me ) - It seems you're not bothered about resolving the issue anyway which makes me wonder why you bothered posting in the first place, unless all you wanted to do was post a rant about Thai's being ignorant. But... it is interesting that now you say you have received 'two' negative responses from two different people... this is the first mention of this in 7 pages of this thread. -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Mostly agree... there is a knee jerk reaction by some to anything Thai and we see this time and time again on this forum... But, there are also negative comments which when not shrouded in racism, bigotry and unfounded bias carry much reality. Personally, I see it as a real shame that Thai Airways has lost its 'sparkle' and is not the airline it once was. I put that down to poor management, I think many of us to. But, in this case, IMO there is no valid criticism of the Pilots actions whatsoever... BUT... I do have criticism in the manner in which Thai airways have responded to that criticism, which as added negative publicity to their already wilting image. This response by Thai Airways also indicates the very attitudes within the organisation that contribute towards its diminishing rankings as an airline. -

If you've never used it, how could you possibly know 'anything' for sure about it ?... or Lazada ??? You're making daft assumptions... You are correct in the 'scammers' comment - FB Market place is full of scammers... only ever do face to face transactions... But, I have old phones, cars, motorcycles on FB market place because it reaches a wider audience in Thailand than any other resource - dismissing that resource because of a flawed bias would be rather dumb. Explain - what is this 'other huge market' and how do you access it ? 'The market the op speaks of' - are you assuming that anything anyone on this forum wants to sell is only going to be attractive to old guys on this forum ? thats somewhat limiting your market isn't it ??? ... making friends with someone because you sold something to them / or bought something from them ?.... you're over-egging that one... -

Do you practice making comments that lack any intellect whatsoever, or did it come naturally to you ??? Any market which reaches as wider audience as possible is a 'better market' than one which doesn't... for both the seller and the buyer... -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The diversion occurred on 28th Jan... not 1st Feb (as per your weather data above). And this is why its not worth big businesses getting into petty online disputes with disgruntled customers, usually because of all the inaccuracy, misunderstandings, false information etc... Its just not worth getting dragged down to that level... -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism

The reason for the diversion was due to poor weather and range... The SQ flight may have had more available range to safely hold for longer. -

Another own goal.... and while I agree with you, any business which as proven it will make such a foolish decision and sue customers is one that I really do not which to rely on. -

Ignorance of the regulations does not provide a valid argument. There are various category landings and limits vary according the Aircraft and Airport. So.. where are these pilots worldwide that land in blizzard conditions ? (no visibility ?) -

When when selling something would you limit yourself to a minimal cross section of society ? This is why sites such as Baht & Sold and Expat Motors etc are so limited and hardly used. -
Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
richard_smith237 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not even any need for that.... the initial criticism was stupid, everyone knows that, it can just be ignored - not even worthy of comment or response. Instead, Thai Airways have managed to turn an 'non-issue' into an own goal and managed to secure negative publicity out of thin air... ... This is known as the Streisand effect... Where attempting to limit and censor what they see as a negative information back fires and generates greater negativity...
