  1. Indeed it is... particularly when age is married with the lack of medical care here at that age unless paying extortionate premiums for insurance. One of the things which may prevent me from living here well into old age is the absence of reasonably priced medical care - insurance premiums for the over 70's is huge. If someone has a secret, please let me know !!!... I wonder how closely the Op looked at brining his partner to the UK. OR, is he a realist and knows that her status may prevent such travel. Its an awful decision to have to make - leaving someone he cares about, I'm sure it was a significantly more difficult decision than some of the insulting and flippant comments suggest.
  2. Wow..... a number of toxic responses... You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
  3. I probably would too... But isn't that more a 'fear of the unknown' after being in a world where ICE's and filling stations are the norm? While suffering a dash of 'range anxiety' I'd still have to have a mental word with myself, point out a bit of common sense and remind myself that my car only needs to do about 60kms per day, yet has a range of 400kms. In short the 'range anxiety' issue is perhaps one borne more out of emotion and a lack of understanding than any genuine issue with E.V's.
  4. Does it ??? How many times do you fill up every week ???... We fill up about once per week (which takes about 10 mins I guess from pulling in, filling, paying etc to driving off). IF we had an E.V. filling up the car wouldn't take any time at all, as it would be filling up when parked at home... The only time it would take is to plug it in and un-plug it. So... Theoretically, when considering the factors involving every day and regular use, 'electric' fills a lot quicker than ICE cars unless of course the E.V. is regularly being used for journeys which exceed its range, in which case the E.V. is not the ideal car for that situation anyway.... not yet at least.
  5. Do you worry about where to find a petrol (gas) station when your tank gets to 25% full ? If not, why would you worry about a charging station when you have 25% range remaining (which would be about 100km on a normal E.V.)... Additionally, if being used for 'normal use' (work and back / school run etc) then there is no need to find a charging station as the car is charged at home... Thus making the question about looking for a petrol (gas) station when the tank is 25% full somewhat redundant, as the need for any filling station or charging station is primarily removed. I don't own an E.V. (my car is actually diesel), but I do like to see intelligent pro and con arguments and not poorly thought out emotional bumf on these threads which are often informative when facts are discussed and emotion ignored.
  6. Pathetic trolling again.... try harder.
  7. I think he meant that 'He' [Luis Rubiales] would loose his teeth if it was his kid [frits' kid] who was kissed on the lips.... But.. its just virtue signalling on the woke bandwagon with a bit of personal emotion thrown in for added dramatic impact..... Creating something more out of what is effectively a non-event if it weren't for the media going so crazy.... IF Jenni Hermoso was the victim of 'sexual harassment' neither she or her team-mates were bothered about it at all.. see photo below, she's laughing about the kiss showing not the slightest indication that it was unwelcome during the post game celebrations.
  8. Look inwards.... Anyway, I've feed the troll enough, no more wasting my time with this ridiculous trolling thread.
  9. And you are comparing in person comments with Thai's to random strangers on an anonymous forum ??... Its also excellent that you can have in depth fluent conversations in Thai with Thai's so you can compare the quality of interaction on a level playing field with that of the Westerners you meet - that is so, right, you are fluent in Thai ?... you can speak Thai, right ?
  10. And there you have it... Trolling anti-farang sentiment which is clearly design to trigger a negative response.
  11. I don't think you thought this through. On a lot of the threads you are often at the centre of the bickering because of a lot of inflammatory and triggering comments you make, such as 'Farangs have a lot to learn' which is obviously designed to trigger some negative responses, or if not by design, then you clearly didn't think very carefully before posting. But, to take your comments at face value: How many anonymous Thai forums do you read ?... just so you can compare like for like.
  12. Seems like you've loaded the comment with an 'anti-farang' bias to dig for comments.... ... All just a bit too trollish to bother with...... you'll have to troll a lot harder and be a lot less obvious.
  13. It seems you are ridiculoisly bias against Marijuana. I don't consume it at all... But.. How is it dangerous ???.... I mean, at all... how is it even slightly dangerous ?
  14. Similar clearance to mine.... no issued for decades. Mr "There is nothing you can teach me about laundry equipment" will be along shortly to tell us all how experienced he is and that
  15. Ok Mr "There is nothing you can teach me about laundry equipment" !!!... This is like when someone asks which would be the best small Toyota for a family... and someone pipes up that they were an HGV driver for 40 years and through their vast driving experience yadda yadda yadda... ... hilarious...
  16. There's that cultural hegemony, race supremacy delusion again. Put a sock in it. OR... the degree of conformity described is a factual observation many have made. Having asked numerous Thai's why they still wear a mask, the answer is usually that they are not sure and because everyone else is. Ask they why they don't take off the mask and the answer is usually 'mai-dai'... push a little further and its because they don't want to be the only ones not wearing the mask. Call that 'race supremacy delusion' if you like... but is it such if Thai's themselves have come up with the exact same answers ???
  17. Not really... Go through any major airport in the world and see how many people are not wearing masks. Go to London, Paris, New York, Madrid, Rome, Berlin, Dubai, Istanbul etc... there is extremely little mask wearing if any. Thus your comment 'many Westerners are clever enough to still wear masks' is an utter fabrication of your imagination and completely false.
  18. Only if what a person is doing is eating 'all they can possibly eat'... So it really depends on the mentality with which the buffet is approached in the first place. is it... A) Get your moneys worth with getting as much down yer gullet as possible? B) Enjoy being at a table with friends who are enjoying a wide range & variety of foods? When there is a large group of people there is a wide range of tastes, the good buffets brunches & dinners cater well to this wide range in tastes. Only pigs eat all they can eat at these establishments (and yes, there are plenty of pigs about). Realistically, just eat enough and enjoy the variety is the way these buffet's can be enjoyed. So no... its not one of the most unhealthy endeavours a person can pursue unless their approach is one of utter gluttony to gorge themselves like a pig.
  19. If the 2000 baht buffet was the same quality, with the same range of food etc as the 250 baht buffet I'd agree.... But its not... You are just attempting to justify your choice with some reverse snobbery. There are plenty of 2000 baht buffets which are well worth it. There are plenty of 250 baht buffets which are well worth it. The offerings at either will be quite different - only fools are unable to identify or recognise that.
  20. Yet the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) acknowledges a range of 10-22 percent in men and 20-32 percent in women to reduce health risks associated with being underfat or overfat. https://inbodyusa.com/blogs/inbodyblog/is-it-healthy-to-have-a-low-body-fat-percentage/#:~:text=Currently%2C there is no official, with being underfat or overfat. But this has nothing to do with all you can eat all you can drink Buffet's in Chiang Mai...
  21. Yet, you 'playa' full of game are all over this herpes spreading love train, eh ?????
  22. That comes with the territory. Having rented out a condo in the past - if tenant renegs on the contract, they lose their deposit, thats all... If a tenant broke the contract 2 months in suing for the extra 10 months would cost how much in lawyer fee's ??? and for what ? the tenant just to flee overseas anyway ?
  23. Have you ever rented a place in Thailand ???.... this 'honor' system to refer to is not something which is generally followed by landlords in Thailand the vast majority of which are not known for returning the deposit anyway. You perhaps need to insert little dollop of reality into your virtue signalling.
  24. This is making the original packages a bargain. 5 Million Baht for 20 years.... and invitation only. Otherwise the best is 15 years for 2.5 million. Options are: 5 years for 900,000 baht (180,000 Baht/year) 10 years for 1,500,000 baht (150,000 Baht/year) 15 years for 2,500,000 baht (166,666 Baht/year) 20++ years for 5,000,000 baht (250,000 Baht/year) Those who have the original if they wanted to transfer the value just went up !!... For example: I have life-time, full perks, membership which can be transferred to 30 years. Thats worth 4.5 million baht (when making a direct comparison with the 'relative' cheapest option of 10 years) - and still cheaper than the 5MB option and 10 years more !!! I can't help but consider the 'new prices' is a death knell and Thai Elite are about to kill their own business.
  25. Most definitely... - Money gives me the ability to assure the best education for my Son - Money gives me the ability to do things I enjoy, both with and without family. - Life is more comfortable with more money. Is money essential to happiness ?... No... but it sure helps. Can people with money be unhappy?... Yes, but money still helps.
