  1. The burden of proof rests solely on the claimant or the believer.
  2. Theists are always free to present any empirical evidence and/or a priori metaphysical arguments in support of their belief in a supernatural sky monarch. Arguing "evidence exists - you're simply unable to see or understand it" is just a disingenuous way of conceding that you don't really have any evidence to present.
  3. “If theism were really true there’s no reason for God to be hard to find. He should be perfectly obvious whereas in naturalism you might expect people to believe in God but the evidence to be thin on the ground. Under theism you’d expect that religious beliefs should be universal. There’s no reason for God to give special messages to this or that primitive tribe thousands of years ago. Why not give it to anyone? Whereas under naturalism you’d expect different religious beliefs inconsistent with each other to grow up under different local conditions. Under theism you’d expect religious doctrines to last a long time in a stable way. Under naturalism you’d expect them to adapt to social conditions. Under theism you’d expect the moral teachings of religion to be transcendent, progressive, sexism is wrong, slavery is wrong. Under naturalism you’d expect they reflect, once again, local mores, sometimes good rules, sometimes not so good. You’d expect the sacred texts, under theism, to give us interesting information. Tell us about the germ theory of disease. Tell us to wash our hands before we have dinner. Under naturalism you’d expect the sacred texts to be a mishmash—some really good parts, some poetic parts, and some boring parts and mythological parts.” - Sean Carroll
  4. Unfounded = not supported by either evidence or logic. Pretty much sums up the belief in a supernatural sky wizard.
  5. Teaching kids to ask magical beings to solve their problems creates irresponsible adults who fail to find solutions.
  6. Point (re: the value of learning some Thai language) taken. However, the comparison is faulty inasmuch as English - not Thai - is the international language of business, and, as we all know, Thailand is perpetually soliciting foreign tourism, business, investment, etc. That said, we should blame the political powers that be and the miserable Thai educational system for the communication problem here before we blame the delivery driver.
  7. I plan on repatriating to my home country by the end of either June or July this year, so hopefully they won’t <deleted> with me on my way out the door… 🤞
  8. Just an update: What finally worked for me when searching for a record: After making sure my address was selected, I filled in the dates in the "inform date" and "stay date" fields but left all other fields (e.g., name, passport number, nationality, etc.) blank, and voilà: there was my record!
  9. I was surprised too, but I'm asked to provide a TM30 each time TE does a 90 Day report for me. In any event, I'm trying to figure out why a search for the report I submitted generates a "data cannot be found" error message. FWIW, I tried submitting the report both manually and via Excel doc.
  10. 1. By air (Suvarnabhumi) 2. None required (Thailand Elite Visa) 3. Required by TE when submitting 90 Day Report at CW.
  11. I successfully registered on the new TM30 site when the site was first launched using my landlord's Thai ID, house book, etc. Today, I returned from a trip abroad and entered a new notification of stay for myself using the new site. However, now when I search for the aforementioned notification in an effort to obtain a printable record, I get an error message which reads "data cannot be found." What am I doing wrong?
  12. 1. I didn't say I was simply *born* in L.A. - I said that L.A. was my hometown. 2. You continue to move goal posts: your original claim was "Asian people are rare in America" (to which I responded "it depends on where in America you live...") Now you're citing national population stats which don't really address my point (i.e., whether Asian people are underrepresented or "rare" in a given community or not depends on where you live.) 3. Your other comments here are a mixture of projection, ("you keep changing the subject") irrelevancies (e.g., comments re: how far from home people drive, etc.) and ad hominem ("big egos," etc.) You'd be well advised to simply quit before you dig your little hole of failure any deeper here..
  13. I don’t know why they even bother reporting these figures; nothing ever changes and never will.
  14. I didn't change the subject. Let's recap: 1. You stated "Asian people in America are rare." 2. I replied "it depends on where in America you live," and noted, by way of example, that there were more Thai people living in my hometown of Los Angeles than anywhere outside of Thailand. 3. You attempted to counter with a True Scotsman Fallacy, viz., "well, Asian people are rare in East Los Angeles (as if this goal post move somehow refuted my original claim in #2.) LOL. Did I mention L.A. was my hometown? 😂
  15. The part of L.A. you live in has no bearing on the fact that there are more Thai people living in Los Angeles than anywhere outside of Thailand. There's even a district of Los Angeles called "Thai Town."
  16. Depends on where in America you live. There are more Thais living in my hometown of Los Angeles than anyplace outside of Thailand.
  17. My (Thai) kidney doc would beg to differ. A lot of the food here contains beaucoup sodium.
  18. That's where he <deleted> up. Sounds like the guy failed to learn Rule #1 somehow.
  19. My Chase CC is about the only CC I’ve ever been able to use without getting cock blocked one way or another on occasion on Food Panda. In fact, the Chase fraud department has never blocked any transaction on any Thailand-based commerce site in my experience.
  20. Lived in Bang Khae for a minute when I first moved to LOS, but it was too far off the beaten path for me. Moved to Central BKK and never looked back.
  21. The BIB are just miffed that they weren’t getting a piece of the action.
  22. Imagine her chagrin when she discovered she couldn’t simply break the IO off a piece and continue on her merry way. 😂
  23. Man, if you can’t find girls who are willing to do this kind of thing voluntarily/for the right price in Thailand, then you must have no game at all. Sad!
  24. Does this mean the short-time SWs on Cowboy will have to work until 4am as well? Poor gals will be waking bow-legged by the time the working day is through.
  25. Just a wild idea: instead of having to constantly scheme re: ways to attract tourists, why not take steps to become less dependent on tourism? Probably too much work involved…
