  1. I have a feeling their fears won’t be allayed by any stretch when the perp merely gets a slap on the wrist or when he tries to square up by shaving his head and donning an orange robe for a week or two. TIT.
  2. That’s alarming if they mean foreigners can be taxed retroactively for every year they have been a “tax resident” in Thailand, i.e., indefinitely far back in the past. My biggest question right now is “when will this <deleted> go into effect?” I want to make sure I’m the <deleted> out of here before that happens.
  3. I miss the days before those airlines started using codeshare flights from LAX to BKK and a business class fare was ~$3K. I used to enjoy flying on the upper deck of that Delta 747 all the way to BKK.
  4. Yeah, I was going to note that to judge music solely on the basis of popularity or commercial success is little more than a bandwagon appeal. Right now there are any number of ten year-old musical prodigies on YouTube who can play circles around all of us.
  5. In the muddled mind of the average tRump disciple, "education" and "indoctrination" are interchangeable.
  6. Yep. A more toxic stew of grandiosity, megalomania, narcissism and abject ignorance you'd be hard pressed to find. tRump will always be the most embarrassing thing America has ever done.
  7. I can confirm the reports. I tried to log into my account on the Section38 app for iOS using my old credentials. No luck. Then, after registering on the new TM30 site, I tried to log into the app with my new credentials. Still no luck. Unfortunately, the Section38 app appears to be dead in the water.
  8. Not sure when this boneheaded policy will actually go into effect, but if it happens to kick in before my planned repatriation date, then I will simply stop transferring any money into Thailand. and just pay my rent and all of my bills directly from a U.S. checking account via Wise.
  9. I've always used the Section 38 app. I wonder if that's still an option?
  10. Beat me to it. In any event, my guess is she’s your typical Thai Frankendoll with the fake titties, cut rate chin and nose jobs and cosmetically whitened skin.
  11. Well, I’m currently thanking my lucky stars that I already had a plan to leave the Land of Scams for good before June 2024 in place All I can say is that the pinheads who are running this country make Matt Gaetz look like Abraham Lincoln.
  12. “Hundreds” sounds like a very conservative estimate.
  13. Sounds like she didn’t “cease her profession” - she merely received an increase in salary and bonuses. ????
  14. That’s one way to grab some free publicity when your vacuous, simpleton “music” isn’t generating enough interest on its own merits, I suppose. Talk about a socially retarded pinhead... ????
  15. Especially shopping centers in locations which have long histories of similar occurrences..
  16. Especially when we’re talking about a bureaucracy populated by half-wits who are too lazy to learn English.
  17. Belief in ghosts might be a strong motivator, but lust for the latest designer handbag will always be stronger.
  18. LOL. ???? I was about to say "that ship sailed a long time ago," but then I realized a ship can't sail if it doesn't exist in the first place.
  19. LOL. ???? Wonder how long ago this "role" was planned and gamed out?
  20. Question for anyone who's been through the process: Submitted the petition for alien spouse on wife's behalf here in Thailand. What happens if my wife's application is approved and she's in the U.S. on a B-2 visa when the approval occurs? Would she have to make another round trip to Thailand just to take delivery of the sealed envelope and return through U.S. immigration with it?
  21. My sentiments exactly, and my exit plan is already in motion. ????????
  22. The man should tell the parents he wants to take their daughter to the U.S. for a Western-style wedding performed by a minister or a justice of the peace and watch their reaction. If the parents object, he should ask “why am I expected to respect your culture when you don’t feel any obligation to respect mine?” Indeed, in a relationship between two people from different cultures, shouldn’t mutual respect for each other’s culture be a must?
  23. Brilliant! Perhaps he can start with the RTP and work his way down the food chain.
  24. Same. I’ve been a loyalist since the Netscape days. I run a number of script and ad blocking extensions, which can sometimes slow me down when I need to white list sites, but I can use Chrome and Opera as backups if I have any problems.
