I can confirm the reports. I tried to log into my account on the Section38 app for iOS using my old credentials. No luck. Then, after registering on the new TM30 site, I tried to log into the app with my new credentials. Still no luck. Unfortunately, the Section38 app appears to be dead in the water.

Not sure when this boneheaded policy will actually go into effect, but if it happens to kick in before my planned repatriation date, then I will simply stop transferring any money into Thailand. and just pay my rent and all of my bills directly from a U.S. checking account via Wise.

Question for anyone who's been through the process: Submitted the petition for alien spouse on wife's behalf here in Thailand. What happens if my wife's application is approved and she's in the U.S. on a B-2 visa when the approval occurs? Would she have to make another round trip to Thailand just to take delivery of the sealed envelope and return through U.S. immigration with it?

The man should tell the parents he wants to take their daughter to the U.S. for a Western-style wedding performed by a minister or a justice of the peace and watch their reaction. If the parents object, he should ask “why am I expected to respect your culture when you don’t feel any obligation to respect mine?” Indeed, in a relationship between two people from different cultures, shouldn’t mutual respect for each other’s culture be a must?
