" I just want easier way to stay in Thailand long term, without having to renew visa each year."
I would guess you will find thousands (if not 10's of thousands) of farang in search of the same unicorn.......

Ive never seen any type of these people in immigration in any of the hundred times ive been there.
So how does it work in that case?
I had a good friend stoke out few years back in Patts.
He was alone, no family in Thailand. He opened his eyes but he wasn't really there anymore and needed 24/7 care. Hospital sent him to a nursing facility. The nursing facility took care of all the visa issues for the 2 1/2 years he lived. His brother back in US arranged his SS and military pension to go to the nursing facility.

So, do I understand this?
Business will test employees and if found positive will house positives as well as close contacts in the company isolation facilities? While still being paid of course.
What a nightmare.

Just her ID card and House book.
Costs 30bht at the Amphur office, she can pick any name she likes, and choose Ms or Mrs.
You should probably take your Passport and Marriage cert so the spelling matches.
Ditto.
Easy peasy. At least at our Amphur.
Being TIT there may very well be horror stories about.......

I just left Suvarnabhumi last week.
Only person that checked anything was at check in counter of the flight. All my docs were in english.
I will add, get there really early. I arrived 2hr 45 minutes early and stood in line waiting to get checked in 2hr 30 minutes. It took so long to check all passenger docs they had to delay the flight maybe 45 minutes to get all aboard.
Immigration and security was simply run thru but that doc check for all passengers is a killer. The issue is every destination country is different so what I needed was not same as what you need for UK and so on. Complete night mare.
YMMV

Are people generally happy with Cyberghost? Seen some good promos, 39 months @ $2.25/month.
I'm shopping for a new VPN, prefer unlimited use, for streaming (from the U.S.), primarily, and for a presence in the U.S.
Need the app to run on Chromecast.
Am also looking at Nord, Surfshark and Express VPN
I used PIA for several years but started having problems with it in Turkey last year. Shopped around and decided to try Express. Ain’t never looking back. It just works.

Confirmed. No COVID test required for Thai nationals returning to Thailand.
I arrived with family on 19th no one questioned their COVID test for entire journey. My negative test was confirmed several times.
Qatar airlines confirmed they only require documents required by destination country. Other airlines may have differing requirements.

Well, the flight I was on Sunday night from Doha to BKK had 35 passengers. They can’t continue to operate with that kinda payload. So, I would suspect less flights sooner rather than later.

“5, A new investment code that allows foreigners to own 100% of their own businesses in nearly all sectors and to own land needed for business.”
I have never understood how they can expect any one to automatically give controlling interest in an investment to a Thai person/company and believe it will be successful in attracting business investment.

Have to concur with this.
To overwhelming majority of the world Thailand is the beach and palm tree they see on Television or movies. And that is it for having any further concern.

Just to close the loop and let all those sitting on edge of seats wondering how 86Tig came out:
Had my bride call the Consular. He was apologetic, advised resubmitting from scratch right away. I proceeded as suggested, it was preapproved immediately. I mean soon as I clicked the submit button inbox received email with "pre-approval." Uploaded flight, hotel. Received entire family COE just now. So anyone faces same issue don't fret, simple fix.
Now, all paid up with flights, hotel, insurance for wonderful 2 week lock up in quarantine for a family of 5. Then on to apparent holiday paradise of lock down in Bangkok.
Good luck to all fellow travelers.
That would be a good novel title: "Lock Down in Bangkok"

Another misconception. A vaccination prevents the majority of recipients from deadly symptoms, most of the vaccines prevent 100% hospitalizations. You can still have symptoms after getting the jab and you can still transmit the virus. Until people understand that, we'll never stomp out Covid.
There is the rub. In Thailand a positive test results in hospitalization vaccine or no.

Try again later and if no luck you may have to do it again or contact the embassy where you applied for the COE.
Thanks, Joe.
That's all I got as well.
Just little taxing on the blood pressure after wading thru all this bureaucracy and dropping $10k for family of 5 to return home the carrot is pushed out a little further.

Guys,
I was preapproved for COE on 28 June. I have purchased flight, quarantine hotel, insurance, everything good to go.
I go back to website today to upload flight and hotel info for wife and kids, everything is perfect. Try to upload for me and all I get is a problem.
Any one experience this or have suggestion to solve?
I am pulling my hair out here.......

The poor souls kidnapped on first snatch didn't know, but hopefully word is out and every one is prepared now.
This has been my biggest fear since this entire none sense started, being taken into custody unawares at any given stop.

I started the request for COE at embassy in Ankara, Turkey last Tuesday.
Talk about a pain in the nether regions. They started approving wife and kids before I finished uploading for all of us. Went back and forth on mine until approved this afternoon. Made me buy the covid insurance before pre-approval even though specifically states not needed until uploading flight/hotel.
But it is done now so all is good, I guess........

14 minutes ago, Surelynot said:What on Earth does that even mean?.......there is no way Thais with minimal symptoms are going to self isolate if it means no money is coming in.
I remember reading in these very pages last year the reason Thailand numbers were so good in comparison to western countries is Thai's are obedient and would do as they were told with masks and staying home while those in west were ignoring recommendations.

A 7 day lockdown will stall things a little bit for 7 days, that's it. Nothing more.
Bingo! Buy that man a cookie.
7 day lock down will stall things 7 days.
21 day lock down will stall things 21 days.
120 day lock down will stall things 120 days.
It is a virus loose in the general population of the world and will run its course until enough are exposed naturally or by vaccine as has every virus or disease has since the evolution of humanity.

And that my friend is the rub. Not one single country in the world gives 2 hoots whether their citizens visit Thailand nor do they give a rats ass how difficult it is for them to travel there.
So whining about difficulty returning to home country after Thailand being as prohibitive as possible to visitors is not going to register a single squiggly on the do I care monitor.

So you're saying spending by long-termers is below the line? Well in that case, it's still being spent as most long-termers are still here (albeit spending rather less because of the restrictions).
The comment was directed to percent of GDP generated by tourism.
No reference or inference to "long-termers."

In that same period, the total value of Thailand's GDP was around four trillion Thai baht." - https://www.statista.com/statistics/1143467/thailand-share-of-tourism-to-gdp/
Highest estimates I've ever seen show just below 20%, so even at its worst/best (depending on how you like tourists) more than 80% of GDP is NOT from tourism.
But the sector shouts loudest (and most shrilly).
To be fair, those are the "reported" numbers, most likely what is taxed or accounted for taxing purposes by the government.
The government only knows of what a receipt is generated. After I spend time in Thailand there are many thousands of dollars spent but very few receipts.
I would offer the great majority of money spent by tourists is cash infused to the economy that is not recorded or taxed. Matter of fact, I would guess there are untold millions if not billions of cash infused to the economy after tourists return to home country that is never reported or taxed.
So, believe the reported 20% and double it for unrecorded transactions may be a conservative estimate of total influence on the economy.
That ain't pocket change.....

So they are not going to change Thailand policy, only try convince other governments to change policy by convincing them Thailand is safe.
Got it.

This was learned in 8th grade biology by any one paying attention.
It was also learned the reason there is no successful vaccine for a covid type virus (common cold, influenza, etc. ) is it mutates rapidly rendering whatever works today ineffective in short time.
