Having been the victim of men groping me inappropriately on a couple of ocassions, i can tell you it is no laughing matter. It really does affect you badly.
In my case, i was afraid for a long time to even be hugged or to be anywhere on my own. Even in my own home. i had friends sleeping on the couch for weeks on end.
I know it is not as bad as rape, but it almost is. It is the fact that some men think it is ok to rub against you or grab your crotch or boobs that sickens me.
Nowadays i know what to do with my knees and elbows. I took self defence classes, and that helped a lot. I was with other women who had had the same thing happen to them. Of all ages and sizes.

Cheaper to grab a helicopter during a dawn raid. Dangling off the ladder.

It's at a time like this you just want to reach out and hug someone.
So i send you a hug. A big patsy hug that reaches you and your family all those miles away.

I find it really sad that when responsible owners of animals have to make the terrible choice of leaving them behind or of putting them through all those quarantine hells.
There should be some sort of new law for that. Like they have in Europe.
And, from what i read, you can take your furry friends to Thailand at great cost (who cares) but you cannot take them back home? How sick is that.
And looking at Bella, so comfy in her home with her cat friend... just breaks my heart.
Send her to me in Europe, i will take good care of her. And that's a fact. She will run and play and swim and get lots of cuddles etc. from lots of people and we shall send you photos of her.

The Eric Clapton concert was a double bill with Elton. My ex spent most of it in the toilets suffering from heat, marijuana and beer exhaustion. I just left him there and danced by myself. That was about 20 years ago.
Ones i would like to see are - Red Hot Chili Peppers and George Michael.
And yes, talking about Flatley, i have seen Riverdance!! And i forgot Tina Turner in my list.
Springsteen was the most for your bucks though. 3.5 hours of sheer bliss. Have a peek at my "For Sheryl" thread in ladies!!

Shise, i have to use a pen and paper and write them down and then re type them here. And no. i don't have a scanner.
Ok, wine time. This is going to take time - i have to go right back to the first. Which i know was Van Morrison when i was 15, because my brother gave me my first joint to smoke. I was already smoking cigs at that time so i could "inhale" the j.

Makes me feel old. But not as old as Richard Gere.
What's next the 30th anniversary of Ghost. And how is Top Gun doing... All those macho films which are actually quite romantic? An Officer and a Gentleman? Gets the tears flowing...
PS i did watch it. And it was lovely, for its time. The hair, the clothes dont exactly thrill me any more. But he does.

I am a woman, i change my hairstyles yearly. And as i could not smile in the photos i look sad. And old. And problably like one of my convict Australian cousins.
Who may be part of my family looking to have one!!!
Have i dug myself in yet...? Think so.
Anyway, 7 weeks in Europe.

I can tell ya, i went around the banks, the police, the Population Office, even the post office. Nada. Then i thought of the lawyer. Otherwise i would have been passportless - great, with a mother who is 85 years of age and not in the best of health and lives overseas. She is now happy i can travel to see her in the Summer. Alive.
I did actually think about going to a Church.
It's not the signing - its the stamp. Anyone can sign it.
And i don't think they would have appreciated my local Irish Pub, either!!
I can't believe you've renounced your Scottishness.....nae free haggis for you at Hogmanay!
I haven't at all. But an Irish passport is better than a sassanach one.

One thing that, i hope will get better, is the fact that i shall send a letter to the Irish Embassy in Berne to tell them that people cannot get their photos endorsed in the places that they put on their list. And i hope it helps others, and that they change their list that is dated 2001. Which includes the name Garda!! They seem to take the Irish list and think it works in other countries, which is <deleted>.

What's fun is you get the old one back, with all the visas etc. for memories and a brand new one to start again with.

Here, in Switzerland, i just got notifiction that my new Irish Passport is here. It's taken 7 weeks. Cost -107 swiss francs. About the same in Euros. Cheaper than a Brit one. Which i could get as well, but can't be arsed. All the paperwork and the angst of who to sign the back of the photos has done me for the next ten years!!
And, i know Mossy -i should have sent the whole thing to you. In the end the lawyer who sorted out my dead husband's money did it for me!! For free!!

What groups / bands / singers have you seen live?

The problem is the price. Most on my list i saw at open air four day festivals. Simpy Red the ticket was about 50 quid and then there was the train to Montreux, drinkys and the train back.
But then there is the atmosphere of the Montreux Festival that just takes away the money probs!! It was a "if you can't afford it don't go" attitude. I could afford and did go. The vibe and the views are out of this world.
Bruce, on the other hand. I would have sold my mother to see him. It was expensive, around 100 pounds for the ticket. But you get your moneys worth with the hours that he was there and it was only four bus stops away from my place. And the beers were around the same price as if you had gone down the pub. All in all a cheaper night than going to Montreux.
A few years ago, in the Summer, i was sitting at my computer in front of my open window. I could hear Dire Straits music. It worked out Sting was doing a concert in the stadium across town and the way the wind blowed everyone could hear him.
For the French speakers among you - I also heard Jonny Halliday the same way. I closed the window that night!!
The most disappointing concert i went to was, unfortunately, REM. Everybody was expecting to sing along and dance to all of their wonderful songs. All they did was play their new album and as the encore gave us a wee bit of the old REM.
I would have liked to have seen INXS.
