Thanks ubonjoe, I'm best booking return flight to the uk within the 30 days allowed visa exempt entry & cancel the flight for me to stay in Thailand for a full 90 or 120 days by using an immigration agent.

    No you're not!

    Who are you flying with?

Eg on Thai Airways you can get a return valid up to nearly a year and can then change the date at will.

Best option is to book a cheap single to a neighbouring country for about £50.

    Hilton and Marriott.

Hilton Millennium has a great view with 2 hour cocktail hour.  Free for Gold and Diamond members.

Prices are reasonable and its directly on the river and next door to ICON Siam.

Plenty of nice hotels with no Club rooms but you can just get a few Chang's at the closest 7/11 and enjoy them in your room while watching CNN.

Last time I looked the Millennium Hilton was in Bangkok not Pattaya ????

The Inter in Bkk had a great Club Lounge - just before "Cut off" time they came around and made me about 3 cocktails for later!

  4. Only going for one night - made a mistake it's 2.6 for a normal room and about 4.6k for a Club room, with breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.

I don't know of many hotels that have Club Lounges in Pattaya. The Movenpick does, but on the We Travel Together scheme - you get the food but not the booze.

Any other Hotel Club Lounges in Pattaya? Hilton?

  5. Has anyone recently stayed at the Intercontinental Pattaya?

There are some great deals with Club Lounge access if you book using "We Travel Together" - starting at around 2800 baht.

The free food and booze will "pay" for the room ????

  6. OP - you're making a drama out of nothing.

    1) Get a new Thai passport - achievable in a day.

    2) Book an appointment online for a new British passport to replace the one which is about to expire - again can be done in a day. In my experience book the earliest available time as the appointments get run later and later as the day goes on. Go early, walk about see the sites (if you go to London) have a nice lunch then collect the passport in the late afternoon.

When leaving the UK all your daughter needs is her valid Thai passport.

Since I live near Suvarnabhumi Airport (and quite far from the Immigration Bureau), is it possible to do a re-entry permit at the airport even if you don't plan to leave the country at that time? (I wouldn't want to leave it to the time of my departure and have something go wrong.) Thanks.

You can get a re-entry permit at Samut Prakan Immigration.

Make sure you go to the new office. It's on the first floor. I'd always advise to go early as it's a pain when they close between 12-1.

Yeah, booked direct on their website for 11.5K for 2 nights.

I would definitely think about upgrading to a "Club Room".

You used to get free booze (beer) all day, canapes, snacks and cocktails at lunch/evening.

I was in there recently (a month or so ago) and the lounge was not open...the "club benefits" were available in the lobby.

Worth thinking about if the Club Lounge is now open.

EDIT - To be honest the rooftop is too busy, expensive and not worth the money. I remember ordering a bottle of red for about £200 and it arrived practically straight out of the freezer! Got them to take it back and warm it up. Ended up tasting like Gluhwein!

The bar one floor down is much better.
