My current O~A visa will expire January 2020. I know I can leave Thailand before the expiration and get 12 more months automatically. Correct?
I think if I want to leave Thailand and return past January 2020 I need a multi entry permit? Do I need to show more Financials, insurance, etc for this permit? Thanks.

If they can't get they necessary paperwork to continue their visa, doesn't this mean we will be seeing an increase of illegals or overstayers? For nothing is worse than returning to their home country.
This is was an interesting statement.
There are plenty of other options beyond Thailand and beyond returning to a Home country.
In SEA..Philippines.. Eastern Europe.. Bulgaria. Spain. Mexico. Also a few countries in Central and SOUTH America.

I have a fiber optic internet connection via True.. Also a TV package. I'm in Chiang Mai. I seem to remember a contract period.. 1 or 2 years if I recall.
However I will be moving houses and need info. I called True.. They were not very clear! Should I take all the equipment with me to the new place? Or make an appointment to disconnect the setup/account here? Will I be breaking a contract? Cheers in advance.

Thanks for the helpful replies. One in particular was interesting.. The need to buy rubbish bags from the amphur.. They have the town logo.. Interesting.. I'll ask if these are available here..

Bangkok Airways are....
So what we do?
Fly we have to...
But we can spread it...
sofirstly, tourists will know and fly to Suratthani at a fraction of the cost (sometimes 80% less!),
and secondly,
So fly to surat thani and enjoy a much longer journey on a bus and boat and relax. What's your hurry? Cheaper and you can use AirAsia.

What a pompous accusation! Failed? Being honest.. you sound very arrogant.Being honest, if you can't have parked 800, 000THB for an extension based upon your retirement, or 400,000THB for extension based upon marriage you really have failed.

I live in saraphi. My house is on 1 Raí with only a few neighbour's. Is it legal for me to burn leaves.. Tree branches and such? There is trash pickup but I assume they don't want 10 bags of landscape stuff?

Not meaning to hijack this thread.. But.. My toyota vios has a tint which reduces visibility especially at night. Comes off easy? Will a car wash place remove it?As dark as a lot of the windows are tinted, I drive around with my windows down whenever I can, just so I can see better. In fact, I scraped the tint film off my windshield so I'd be safer at night. Not to mention anyone on the road in front of me.
I find that I'm much more likely to be waved through a checkpoint for my white skin than targeted at one.

A target? 555. I often drive with the window down.. You know.. Fresh air.. Can see more clearly.. Blah blah. I'll keep doing too. Geeeez.
I don’t understand why foreigners drive around town with their driver’s side window down and their arm hanging out over the door.
By doing so you are putting a target on yourself.
I’ve been driving here since 2002 and I feel this is an accident waiting to happen.
Are these people showing off? Why draw the attention, Thais know they have right of way every time, the police will pay more attention to you.
Grow up people, leave the windows up.

Good grief. You "wandered out your lane" ? Where was this? We all know how bad the driving is here.. and the complete lack of concern for the law the police have in this topic... So this cop must have been behind you.. In a bike or car? I have NEVER seen a highway patrol car. Not sure if they exist here.Surely you can break the law by accident? If this happens one expects punishment in the form of a fine; court approved and honestly administered. One does not expect a demand for 500 baht as I was yesterday by a cop who pulled me because I wandered out of my lane, not knowing the road & being 400 kms from home. I paid a reduced 300 rather than surrender my licence & have to return to collect it.
This new law will merely put up the going rate for police bribes & do nothing to reduce the daily road kill.

Has anyone been hit with any sort of tax when shipped via China Post (for example) on higher value stuff from Lazada around 10.000 baht? Or the risk is there so only buy shipped from BKK and COD?Lazada Thailand has been around for a couple of years now. I have become a customer right after they opened here and have since bought hundreds of items. In fact, the Kerry logistics driver comes here at least once a week and he knows us already like we are family. Unfortunately, often the process is painful for the customer. It happened to me several times, that I didn't get the product I ordered, but something different. It also happened, that when I ordered products sent from abroad, that the seller simply doesn't send the product, even though you are waiting 4-6 weeks, just nothing arrives. There are lots of other problems I encountered. Yesterday I ordered a hot water air pot for 990 Baht. I had 295 Baht in my e-wallet (new Lazada feature), I took those 295 Baht and was led to my Bangkok Bank online account to pay the balance of 695 Baht. I paid and then received an email from Lazada acknowledging my purchase. When I looked up the status of my purchase this morning, it read and still reads: "Thank you for shopping at Lazada! Please complete the payment within 48 hours. Otherwise, order will be cancelled automatically."
I sent an email message to a customer care person at 10:10 this morning, but at 11:15 still no answer. Today I don't feel very happy with Lazada, you can guess that. Any other members who are using Lazada and their e-wallet?
Another thing:many people buy on recommendations. I tried to write a review several times on a product, but whenever I wrote the review, the "Submit" button is greyed out: another Lazada bug!

Yes I agree.. However.. I suppose the site is only written in thai language and when we choose the English version it's similar to Google translating the page.. So when searching.. things get lost in translation. Just a guess.Never had any problem with payment or delivery but the search engine and filters are appalling throwing up endless junk in a serious search is very annoying.

Unfortunately the owner is clueless about how anything works in this house! He bought it 7 years ago.. Lived 1 or 2 years left for the city..Looks more like a relay...why not ask the owners what the switch does ?

I moved into my rental house and have many questions. The first is regarding the photo here in my post.. I assume it's a relay? But is it light sensitive? It doesn't seam to be.. I can't get the switches to turn on anything!... But why this little plastic box? TIA

At $9.00, you haven't shot yourself in the foot. You've just made it more likely the guy will be available when you need him again. As you have noted, that's worth 10x what you paid.
OK. Like minds think alike. Wait, that's not right. 55 Exactly why I paid him as much as I did. Hardly a fortune but not so low that I hope he is eager to return when I need his help again.

Hmm. I've shot myself in the foot then. I gave him 300 baht for an hours work (he probably used 70 baht in parts) because honestly it worth (to me) 10 times that because my water supply had to be off until the problem was fixed. I also gave him 300 for about 2.5 hours of labour in the yard.
My neighbour (Thai) was very elusive in giving me a price for this man.
I'm happy enough. I don't want to send out a big smoke signal telling the village (khua mung) that I have loads of cash!

A neighbour (in Saraphi district) recommended an odd jobs man to me.. a Thai man with very little English and I am farang with very little Thai language skills. We get by.
How much is the normal hourly rate for gardening (tree trimming, weeding, cleanup). How about a plumbing hourly rate? He fixed my low flow/pressure shower problem and he fixed a broken bum washer connection (snapped off at the wall). in about 1 hour.. plus he had a 40 to 60-minute commute to get to my place both ways.
He always asks for what I ever think is fair. I hate that!! :). I don't want to be a cheap charli. nor do I want to be a soft touch. TIA.

Your accuser might be male or female. Everything about the email author could be fake.. Except the fact that that person knows your ex.
In my case an angry female freind wrote to me.. pretending to be her new bf.. With similar threats.. Arrest at the airport.. Photo circulating the country etc etc. Truly scary yes.. But logic told me otherwise and I smelled a rat. I had done nothing wrong. Nothing. I was actually accused of giving my ex gf cancer. know. Seriously. The "stress I caused her brought on cancer" . Stupid I know.. But.. Scary stuff. I arrived.. Passport stamped.. It was all a load of rubbish. I suspect it was an attempt to drop the fake charges to get money. Extortion said my Embassy. Enjoy your Christmas in Thailand.

My first year of my OA visa was supposed to expire May 2018. However I left Thailand several times during the year and my latest stamp in my passport states must leave before May 18, 2019.
On July 9 I will again leave Thailand by air. Do I need to do anything at immigration in Chiang Mai before I set off on my trip? Pay any fees, or any fees due can be paid at the same rate at BKK?
Thanks in advance
