Amazing that people actually feel they need to defend thier stupidity and breaking the law/rules!

When contacting these 190 countries.. "they have asked them"?... Then says "ok thanks" hangs in phone. 555 uhmm.. This is detective work. However.. The Boys know exactly where he is.

This ridiculous situation can easily be avoided. How expensive would it be to have 10 extra immigration officers sitting idle for eventualities like these?! A very easy fix. Lazy and incompetent comes into play here.

I love my life in China. Uups. Sorry. Thailand.

Shouldn't the police be more concerned about important stuff.. Like keeping people alive on the roads?! As a side note... what sort of mechanism is in place for the police to police Facebook? Do police actually surf the internet day long looking for this stuff?

So stupidity is becoming illegal. In Bangkok thousands could be ticketed each hour. Police here are now pondering THAT revenue source big time!

I have yet to hear Thai humour. I SEE it every day. Well, it makes me smile or chuckle.. a lot.

Trouble ahead? I think it has already arrived.

I think the police would have to request something from a court to prevent you leaving the country ? Could be wrong but pretty sure you can't be stopped on someone's complaint alone !
Only 1 way to find out...
Plus tell her you've changed your mind and will be travelling around Thailand for a couple weeks instead...
Let us know how you get on :)
Thanks for the fast reply. Is it common in Thailand to accuse someone like this just to get your own way? False police reports are not empty threats me thinks.

I will be travelling out of Thailand next month and my Thai wife is angry and doesn't want me to leave.
She has just informed me (via email) that she has filed a police report stating that i stole some of her gold and some important documents. None of this is true. However .. is it simply my word against hers? In fact, her gold DID go missing while we were away travelling. Upon returning.. the gold was missing.. we both looked high and low and even scanned CCT in our building. Months later she is trying to stop me from leaving Thailand using this very incident!
She has also stated, that she has informed immigration about the gold/document theft and that she thinks I took it. We have been apart for the last 4 weeks.. so I am not sure how true any of this reporting business is.
This is all absolute rubbish. BUT.. can she really stop me from leaving Thailand based on a false accusation/ police report? Should I pop into my local immigration and ask about this? Thanks for any help offered.

I want a lipoma removed from my cheekbone.. and a plastic surgeon will be needed. Must I go to Bangkok? Are there good plastic surgeons for this sort of thing in Phuket? Recommendations please. Happy Sunday!
-
Several posts on lipoma removal.. So I know the cost is not high.. But mine is on my cheekbone.. So my hansum looks must be preserved 55. Any suggestions in Bangkok for a doctor that would be considered a plastic type. Thanks.

i suggest it is a bit more serious than that; being denied entry is no trivial matter; who knows, it might put you on a black or brown list; how one is adorned is right in line with : 'at the discretion of the immigration officer'; that means it is a crap shoot
I often wear shorts and flip flops passing through bkk. So you think I should be targeted as disrespectful? 55..uhmm. No!- 1

It's like Thailand does not want foreigners here! :D

"stopped to ask for directions" OMG. Er.. Excuse me we want to know where the village leader is so we can kill him and his family. Oh.. Thanks. Have a nice day. Disgusting (stupid) animals.

I have not read all 99 pages of comments.. A lively discussion for sure. My favourite all around city I lived in was Tucson... Sure laguna Beach and Santa Barbara were awesome in the 70 a and 80s.. Back when I had a good income and you could easily find parking at the beach. Tucson would be my goto place in USA. Big question.. What is your monthly budget after you reach 65??

I have also been surprised, in a bad way, with the switch from visa to union pay. Silly me didn't look at my new card closely.. It does not work in the Philippines ATMs! Does not work for online purchases even at Lazada.Com Thailand! Looking for a new bank. I real pain because my USA pension goes into bank of Bangkok. As far as I know.. Bank of Bangkok is the only direct deposit for a USA pending in Thailand?! Aggravating indeed!

I will be registering a used car at the Krabi Land Transport place. I know that I will need to present my passport.. I have an OA visa.. and a medical certificate. Maybe also a residency certificate from immigration. Will my thai drivers suffice.
I ask because I will be brand new in the town of Krabi staying in a hotel. Hotel receipt will show my address to immigration.
Any experience in the krabi office of land transport will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

At the same time I am moving address I am also buying used car in my new town of Krabi.
I understand I will need a certificate of Residence issued my krabi immigration. Then I take this, along with a medical certificate and my passport to land transport to register the car along with the seller of the car.
My address is a hotel for a few weeks until I find a house. Will /should the hotel provide me with a tm30 or other proof of my residency there? Thanks.
