  1. Quick update the visa approval came back the following week.
  2. I must confess I’m confused because on the Thaivisa.go.th website, which facilitates the online application process, there is no mention of a 90 day non imm O visa for retired people, only visiting family & friends plus a number of other categories (medical, voluntary work etc.). Pre-covid I had always travelled on a non imm O visa but that doesn’t appear to be an option either by omission (probable, Thai websites aren’t the most user friendly )or has policy changed?
  3. Thanks for the response guys. I’ve now downloaded the hotel booking confirmation as suggested and was able to continue and make payment. I’ll let you know the outcome.
  4. I can’t see any way to skip this field, the website simply does not let me continue to payment page unless I populate that section. Previously I obtained the non-imm O 90 day visa based on retirement. This is no longer an option.

  6. I am trying to apply for a single entry tourist visa online but am stalling on one of the support documents which asks for - “identity of person inviting you to stay. e.g. Thai ID card, passport”. This seems illogical for a tourist visa and the website refuses to allow me to continue without downloading this doc. We’ve been staying for 3 months every winter since 2010 previuosly on the non-imm O visa which is no longer issued. Our stay next year will be for 86 days so will get extension at the local I.O. Any suggestions please.
  7. As the great Lou Reed said “ turn them over and stick a fork in em, they’re done!
  8. Prayut. “Ah well! We gave democracy a chance but the people got it wrong. Now the military will have to takeover to restore order.”
  9. The tattooed, shaven headed yobbish looking article wallowing in the swimming pool didn’t look so frail & ill to me.
  10. Thanks for the responses, most helpful. I’ll take out an international licence before returning & then renew my expired Thai licence.
  11. My 5 year driving licence expires on 1st January 2024. I’ll be leaving Thailand end of March & returning shortly after my licence expires next year. Question - can I renew my licence within a timespan after it expires? I assume I can’t renew this far ahead of expiry. Thanks for any informed input.
  12. Is that NativeBob or NativeBoris?
  13. I cannot believe the vitriol aimed at this woman on here. If you look at the photo she swung round the corner and the poor man seems to be in her blind spot (right hand drive), he was virtually lying on the ground <deleted>! People on here are basically calling her a psychopath. The fact of her continuing to drive afterwards is somewhat academic - the damage had been done.
  14. I would have thought your chances of getting a work permit for this are somewhere south of zero - but happy to be corrected.
  15. Staying for 90 days on a non O imm. so no interaction with Immigration anticipated. Previous 4 month stays have been with non O + border hop.
  16. Iranian authorities hoping public executions will rescue its ailing entertainment industry!
  17. We have rented various houses for periods upto 4 months for several consecutive years. We have never registered a TM30 at IM essentially because all the landlords were farangs with Thai wife and living in their native countries. I’m assuming this arrangement will continue. What are the potential consequences of this?
  18. A fair level of IT know how is needed to complete the online application. For example to be able to resize files to less than 3mb. But to be fair to the London Embassy, in my application the file for my bank statement wasn’t acceptable as it needed to show both my name & address, they emailed me asking me to resubmit by email, which I did and the visa was approved within a couple of days.
