The cost of medical care here in Thailand as gone from one extreme to the other. The cost of getting your ears syringed 15 years ago would not get you passed the information desk today. The holiday medical operation farms advertised years ago must be on their last legs. My last medical operation here cost three times more than the original estimate, no reason was given for such an excess, although the operation was a simple one and went OK without complications. However, future treatment on the same scale would need better reassurance of costs. Operations in Malaysia & back in the UK are now seen as viable options. The Thai hospitals have all but priced themselves out the market except for emergencies of course?

Don't see how an accommodation data-base is going to help much. Maybe a police corruption data-base would be more appropriate.

Like the UK MPs and US Senators, he can now make a real fortune sitting on the boards of wealthy companies were he can use his influence & government pals to generate a proper wedge.

The Thais need to be very careful they don't break any international sanctions regarding Russia. It will only take a mention at the UN meeting to point the finger at Thailand & the Thais would be facing some real financial sanctions. If that happens the free visa lark wouldn't be worth a carrot compared with what could happen as a back-lash.

Don't know how they tie consumption of alcohol with religion. However it would be better to have a no-scams day instead, I think this would be more in-keeping with religion, although I'm not to sure why?

I've been here for 20yrs (Phuket) and don't know anybody who uses Tuk Tuks on a regular basis. Hence its only the new arrivals who keep getting ripped off. Its time for the airline magazines to print permanent articles on the do,s & don'ts of the destinations they are traveling to, Phuket being the first.

Are Israelis coming are going. The title claims they are coming & then further down states that all out bound flights to Israel are just about full in which case the numbers of Israelis in the country should be more are less the same?

Israel are now going to do what they always wanted, take out Hamas & bomb the s--t out of Hezbollah. The only difference this time around is that they will have UN & international backing.
