... and as you know, anger isn't cool here and Thai can sense it a mile away...
You're sure right on this point. I was pi**ed at a former gf one time. Everybody we encountered that day knew it. I'm not of the impression that she told them all but they seemed to figure it out on their own.
But since I don't understand Thai language, what would I know!

Sad to hear the story of your Christmas parcel, but you are not the first nor the last.
Many years ago, when asked from a friend what she could send me by mail, i just told her to send nothing.
Did it arrive okay? ????

However, once I'd logged in it disappeared. I contacted the supermarket and was told it wasn't available in my part of Bangkok.
Don't you just hate it when a website sends you off into deep dark space with no explanation why !

Best news item of my current viewing time slot.
Any external pressure is good pressure.
Good for FFP. Bad for "Army Government".

Thank you for that. That was 10 years before my first trip to Thailand. Yes -- I arrived in that memorable year of 2014.
Back then, I knew very little about Thailand but do recall watching some news on the topic.
I'm certain that this thread will reveal much more. I will follow.

Sound fishy... from 15 mil to 3 mil, this is a fire sale, even though things are tough now in the RE market surly can't be that bad...
That would depend on how badly the current owner is bleeding each month. Losses for repeated months with no hope in site can cause one to think, "this is like pi**ing into the wind".
Maybe best to get out now before 3,000,000 becomes 3,000.

I would imagine that the dissolution of the opposition for a Logo by a basically Junta led government will not been seen in the best of lights by the rest of the world.
As for Illuminati - isn't their thing ruling from the shadows ? As opposed to plastering the fact they are about and active as a political party.
Pure nonsense
End of your first sentence ......."will not been seen in the best of lights by the rest of the world".
Some posters on here have previously said something to the effect of "the rest of the world don't care", "Thailand means nothing", "only money counts".
I can only hope that such an undemocratic, corrupt act as this will get world news attention.
That is, if the Junta are stupid enough to pull this stunt. I am hoping not.

Of course I knew what he was saying. Just underlining the fact that the Thais do not celebrate Christmas and without the expats and foreign tourists, I doubt you would even see a Christmas tree.
I've been here 20 years and I love Christmas being a 'non-event' except for the one day. Back home it's in your face for a month or so.
2 months now, even more for some.

Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, and Mr. Niphon Bunyamanee, Deputy Minister of the Interior, delivered blankets to cold-stricken people in need in Mae Taeng and Chiang Dao districts in Chiang Mai, donating 550 blankets to each district.

The abbot seems unperturbed about the swarm of bees buzzing around his head.
He's quite accustomed to a buzz in (or around) his head. Sounds like he might be quite accustomed to "head" too.

Many years ago on my first visit to Thailand, I ask my gf of the time, when we went out to dinner on the first evening, "why do so many bikes not have either front or rear lights"?
Can't say as I now recall her exact answer but it was something like A) "they take the bulb out to save fuel" or B) "it burned out, no bother to replace".
Reminds me of a lady that got caught speeding in a Western country (160kph), she told the officer "I am almost out of fuel so I was going fast to get to a station before I run out".

I think you're being a little bit picky. Perhaps the posters first language is not English. I knew right away what he was saying; I'll bet most others did too.

"A picture is worth a thousand words". According to the above, there is a "collection" of them.

In my opinion, Christmas in most Western countries is 99% commercial, the grand sales opportunity of the year. Thailand merchants play the Christmas tunes and put up some fake decorations just to cash in on this commercial event. I don't blame them; it's called marketing.

I've been trying to figure out how to eliminate all of my business competitors.
I guess I would need big guns, tanks, threats of jail and the top man on my side.
But since I don't have, it looks like I am helpless, just like the average Thai citizen.

Such driver distraction can be as serious as texting.

Anything is possible. Here's another plausible angle. Maybe he is the "house guardian" while the real owner is away. The truth may yet surface.
The meeting place of Pattaya also figures into my thinking. She went to Pattaya to sell her *****. He went to Pattaya to buy *****. Maybe they're both just living an orgasmic dream that will come crashing down.
If for real, I wish them good luck. May love at first sight last forever.

My still-programmed-Western-brain readily connects to only one word to describe this court case outcome. Incomprehensible !!!

Always assume and expect the worst, and look out for it.

This "democratically elected" government must be pulling at their coloured hair 'til it hurts, as they regularly discuss this "thorn" in their sides. Damned if we do and damned if we don't.

I've been aware of Bubble Tea for a decade or two but never indulged.
But I take this opportunity to congratulate you @Jingthing on becoming a TVF centenarian (of sorts). Yes, I know that you are not a hundred years old.

But you are a ThaiVisa member and by the look of your post count at 5,716, a regular reader on a forum where this has been discussed many times. That said, you knew this day was coming.
How could you not be prepared? By leaving your 25 item basket with the cashier, you just enhanced the supposed negative vibe towards farangs (also discussed on TVF).
"Solly", that my POV.
