There is a simple answer to how this confrontation could have been avoided.

Had the Irishman been an upstanding, interactive reader of TVF like all the rest of us old farts, he would have been fully informed of the DOs and Don'Ts when out partying and drinking in Pattaya.

Take me for example. I've never been there but have probably read most of the posts that related similar situations. I would be street savvy, pub savvy. Same for all the other rules that go along with drinking and carousing. It's all there on TVF.

(And I'm not even running for POTY. Take that NCC170).

If you are a westerner, you sure have been converted to native thinking.

To a westerner, the current temperatures that Thailand is experiencing are what a westerner would call "cool", NOT "cold". It is only "cold" to a Thai national. "Cold" because it is below their norm.

The current "cool" temperatures would have no effect whatsoever on the integrity of building materials. Drop below "0" Celsius for an extended period of time and then the effects from cold can be possibly blamed.

Haha, You're sounding like a full-fledged native ( Not freezing... but not far). 22.8 is a helluva a long way from 0 degrees (freezing). Better make sure you're wearing flannel pyjamas and not the cotton or silk version. If it dips below 20, maybe add a toque to your nightwear and socks too.

You did not clarify the 7K baht. Some readers may not understand. I believe "tabarin" is stating 7k baht for 4 weeks work, down from 9,000 baht. Those are usually 9 hour days and a week is 6 days.

I wonder if his professional driving skills might have been distracted by his young, nubile passenger. He might have been "fawning" over her "hormones" and hit a "slippery" spot (on the road of course) causing his right leg to twitch, pressing the accelerator pedal to the floor. 

Been there, done that but my old ride didn't have that kind of acceleration capabilities.

Some of these "conners" make more money than legitimate business people like me make.
