I'm pretty sure that the Bible has something to say about Christians interfering in things temporal.

Give unto Rome and all that.

Becoming political is not the road for a Christian publication to go down.

Agreed. Then in that case, they shouldn't have got involved with him in the first place.

It always did look like strange bedfellows to me.

If Trump is a good Christian, that makes me a Saint (555, me a Saint).

Years ago when my father was running his business in London he sent out tiny christmas cards in big envelopes to his customers and suppliers the message inside read :-

    "Money's short, times are hard,

    Here's your f.....g christmas card"

I was a bit shocked but it went down well apparently.

Your father had a great sense of humour @soalbundy.

He sounds like he was a down to earth man who was not shy to call a spade a spade.

Have warm thoughts of him. Times are still tight and getting tighter.

I thought bartering was (an example) offering a dozen eggs for a piglet.

    exchange of goods without money.

You are totally correct @worgeordie. Bartering is the exchange of this for that (much like that overheard word of late "quid pro quo").

What the OP is describing is "bargaining".
