  1. Depends of the circumstances......

I love dogs..with some exceptions...I have to say that years ago in Chiang Mai I try to poison a neighbor's dog that was always lose on my street and attacked me many times. The owner never took care of the situation. After making me fell from my motorbike.....I gave him meat with rat poison....just one time. He ate it...but didn't die.

Anyway...months later he just vanished and I do not know if was killed or not.

  2. Isn't this guy about 200 years old now? He seems to have been around since the beginning of time...still revered in his own country...a hero who stood-up to American attempts to micro-manage Cuba...the price Cuba has paid...to remain locked in time...little has progressed since the 1950s in Cuba...

Yes ...locked in time....just little progress since the 50's...

Cuba...Nobody sleeps on the streets anymore.

Cuba...Free high education and free medical to everybody....even for some foreign students.

Cuba...More medical doctors per people in the world.

Cuba...# 1 in Solar Power in the Americas

Cuba...# 1 in Organic Farming in the world

Cuba # 1 in Cancer Research and treatment in the Americas

Cuba # 1 in AIDS prevention and treatment in the Americas

Cuba # 1 in historical architecture restoration in the Americas

Cuba # 1 in lowest unemployment in the Americas

Cuba # 1 in lowest criminality in the Americas

Cuba # 1 in lowest illegal drugs use in the Americas

And all that...after 50 years of economic embargo imposed by the US and its Allies.

    And before you do ask....

Like most countries in the world, Cuba has its share of people looking in get the US "refugee" status at any cost, for a free ride to live under its Government benefits.

Not anymore. Cuba is in the way to become a "democratic" country again, by the US standards, like during the Batista times.

Gambling, prostitution, drugs, corruption, exploitation, contamination, criminality....The American Dream is on its way....

  3. The only bad in the XV it is that is made in Indonesia, and it is lighter than the one made in Japan...My be not have the same strength for bad roads, and in a case of an accident. The All Time 4WD is a plus for stability and breaking. Hard to decide for the same price. Resale for Honda is better.

  4. It doesn't matter. Criminal negligence resulting in the death of a minor.... Even if they lost track of the girl for an hour they are at fault and are ultimately responsible for this child's death

This is Thailand...and many things are not right. But....most parents do not have concerns about its children whereabouts, because here, is not like in many western countries and in special the US, where child kidnapping, rape, and murder is very common.

Unfortunately, some day, Thai parents will have to walk its children on a leach, like in some "developed" countries

For an American, is very refreshing to watch groups of Thai kids playing hours on the villages' streets, without supervision, safely, and talking and playing with "strangers" without concerns. Accidents happens.

This was just a tragic accident, nothing more.

  5. Any underground activity or trade is incentive for exploitation, crime, and violence.

Prostitution is the oldest "job" in History. Nothing wrong with that....and no reason to be illegal or prosecuted, IF regulated to be sure that it is safe for the practitioners and its clients. Sex workers do not need to be saved. Needs to be protected.

  6. Too slow????? During the 60's and 70's EVERY "revolution" and killing of innocents was sponsored by the CIA!!!! Still doing it! Before was fighting "Communist Terrorism"... now fighting "Islamic Terrorism"...... For what? To gain more hate and revenge? Stupid Bastards!

Amaze me how US politicians show ignorance of history jut to obtain sympathy....or votes. All them..from Gerald Ford to Obama....

Unfortunately looks like nothing will change with Trump or Clinton...and unfortunately the US "Democracy" still a model for most young generations.

  7. Sadly most rides are auto here and as you have already experienced the most likely candidates for you are from Honda who insist on flogging the CVT dead horse.

The only others that are similarish to what you want are the Fortuna/Everest/Pajero SUVS but fall into the too large category.

What's your maximum budget? Have you looked at Suzuki, Subaru, Hyundai or Kia?

The Fortuner is quite massive !!

    the Everest too...

the Pajero is one of MMe's Favorite

    I like the MU-x too

but they are all very huge car.. that is for sure !

I didn't check Suzuki, Subaru, Hyundai or Kia carrefully yet, have to give them one chance.

After thinking a lot.. I think I can also sitch to pick-up. hey, this is Thailand after all ?? old child dream can be true.. for cheaper than thoses huge cars, well... a bit cheaper.

I tried fews and the Ford Ranger XLT seems very good, but Impossible to try it on manual transmission here in CM, but it seems to be a good compromise too...

budget is about 1M bath max.. or bit more.. but I'll prefer a bit less.

For 1 mill ... Subaru or Honda

  8. What amaze me about people...and not only because Trump.

Every smart con artists, charlatans, dishonest scammers, showing wealth and success, will get a lot of followers and admiration without concerns about its sources, morals, past, etc. Instant admiration, even from "intelligent" people, reporters, media, etc.

The same with Clinton... a very smart, experienced speaker, who knows how to manipulate minds. A natural liar.

Sanders? It is a truly leader..but...for most people..too good and too honest to be true. The world is not ready for him yet. Unfortunately.

  9. I believe that dry good quality dog food is the best for many reasons.

    1) It is not tasty enough for dogs to overeat.

    2) Maintains digestion regulated, specially is given one time a day, at the same time.

    3) Avoid allergic reactions to some of house foods that are not suitable for animals.

    4) Because dogs will eat in less quantities than tasty foods, becomes less expensive in long term.

    5) Less vets expenses, maintaining the dog in good shape and health all its life.

    6) In some cases, can leave the dog alone for long time, with enough dry food and water, without worries about looking for dog care.

I owned dogs all my life, and just now I got the probe of my opinion. When I was single here I adopted a mid size soi dog, that I kept in dry food because was very convenient for me in many ways. For years he was very healthy and active. Just giving some "snacks" sometimes, like big bones.

When I got married, my wife started giving him house food. Most fish and chicken meat and bones. He got overweight, and with some health troubles. Skin allergies, and muscular pains....until I decided to stop that, and come back to the dry food. Pedigree, beef taste.

In just 2 weeks, every problem was history.

A healthy and happy dog again.
