  1. Everything you can imagine about..may be not the reality...

About taste, sex, and infidelity, we farangs are more predictable. Thai people, men and women, are really unpredictable, and not easy to understand their behavior most of the times. My wife always is telling me about her friends, single and married ones. What they do, and what they know about others doing. It is a mixture of tradition and values that WE never will understand. I my self, had very weird experiences with Thai people regarding marriage and relationships....so weird... that nobody will believe..only having the same experience. But...here...I am always ready for surprises.

maybe You can share with us the weird expérience You learn regard mariage and relationships ?

OK..Just one of many. After a presentation I did on a school outside my town, the school principal, a very attractive mid age woman, invite me to spend the night in her home to avoid my night ride back home, on a dangerous road.. She was married with other school's principal, also present at the event. Nice Thai guy, younger than myself.

We had a nice house dinner and chat, and I went to my room. Hours later, she appear in my room asking me to have sex with her. I asked about her husband. She said that her husband have its lovers, and he doesn't mind if she has hers. Nothing happens, I was not interested in that kind of risk. Later, she called, and drove 2 hours to surprise me in my home. I wanted to have sex that time. She refused, telling me that somebody around may know her, and will feel strange that she was in my home. She said that in her house is safer because people around her house will not believe that she will do that. She wanted for me to visit her the following day, because her husband will be out of town.....She called with the same proposal many times. I never did. If that's not weird...you tell me.

  3. Look at Samsung 20 MP wiih 10x zoom 7 to 10 K in Big Camera. Small but powerful. If also you do need a new smart phone, the model K Zoom have the best camera with Internet connection on the market..about 11K in Big Camera.

Nikons and Canon are good brands too.

Anyway. Buy only from a reputed local store with good service. Not online.

  4. ".... rival the TPP"...????

Something wrong with this challenge....I know that Vietnam is already member of the TPP..and the Philippines will be too. Looks like South Korea is a candidate.....and Burma is in talks.

The TPP is designed to kill the ASEAN group....and it is a very bad deal for Asia countries looking for trade and financial independence.

  5. I also believe than ISIS will do more attacks on the West to get Western troops on the ground. it is not easy to fight mercenaries and terrorist if they have a war planning. Uniformed armies are easier target, and its cannot kill every civilian that looks suspicious. Every innocent civilian death by "mistakes" and indiscriminate bombing..creates potential new enemies. Remember, Muslim guerrilla won over the Russian Army in Afghanistan, and the actual war in there still going on....

Will be a long and bloody war.....and all this because few people decided to sell Democracy to Muslim Governments to take advantage of their resources...and keep making more money. This 'War inn Terror" is the consequence of Greed...just Greed of few..and the Indifference of many.

The US, the UK, Russia, Turkey, and France, still terrorist targets...and it is not many things that can be done to avoid it.

  6. Hummmmm....looks like some predictions are right....unfortunately Trump may be the Rep nominated..... and...other are predicting that he may beat Clinton..... The problem is..... that after that happening...Thailand may not be ready to take back all the illegal Thais in the US...plus.... all the American refugees....

  7. FRANCE REVENGE????

    With only a small detail......

Was reported that France started bombing ISIS position 2 weeks before the ISIS REVENGE in Paris....

What ISIS did in Paris is terrible...but...what France was expecting from a terrorist group?...to keep quiet after France attacking them????

France Air Force may kill some terrorist with air attacks....but...always with the typical "collateral damages"...like the children hospital destroyed by the US Air Force in Irak..... Are French civilians of more value than Libya, Iraq and Syria civilians????

France was surprised by ISIS attack?....Give me a break!

I hope FRANCE, US and the UK are learning something with this......

NO GET INTO OTHER COUNTRIES BUSSINES!!!!!

  8. All depends.

Age and interest makes a big difference.

For older and retired guys Thailand have a lot to offer.

For young guys, not so much, specially if they do not learn the language to be fluent.....in a country where most do not speak a second language.

I met so many young foreigners living here for many years with no Thai language skills, and even not much interested in learning it well......Those probably never will meet its expectations in Thailand.

I do not speak any Thai...Close to 70 years old now, I really am not interested in learn a new language. Having a young wife speaking good English, taking care very well of my needs, with no dramas, no major issues to be worry about, no financial concerns, with a lot of time to do what I like most.

Fishing, gardening, biking, traveling, and getting healthier every day.....What more I can expect for my retirement in Thailand?

Respect and consideration? That too....living in a small town, knowing the culture, participating in local events, being a "local"....Something that is not possible to be in big cities...sometimes...in your own country.

  9. This is a non sense because most Thai English teachers, not only do not the language, also do not not how to teach, and do not have the right material to teach Thai students. What really will happen very soon, is that the field will be invaded by young teachers from other Asean countries..specially Vietnam, Malaysia, and Myanmar, even China, with the new visa rules for those countries.

After Asean implanted, I can good see many young Thais unemployed in areas where good/fluent English knowledge is a must...

  10. Lake Chalapa and Guadalajara in Mexico, or Cancun if you like beaches. Cheap, good weather, nice women, good food and close to everywhere. Cheap air fares to the US, Canada, Cuba, Europe. Also safe, using the same common sense than in any other countries. Spanish it is easier to learn than Thai, and Latino women are not motivated only by money. Most Thai women do.

Brazil beaches are also good and cheap areas for expats, but air fares to US and Europe are expensive. people are very friendly and its loves foreigners.

Women are very beautiful, and very open minded. White and blonde women in the South, Black women in the North, and everything in between.

Looking for a peaceful life and close to everything?. The Italian, Spaniel and Portuguese countryside. Cheap too.

Only the big cities are expensive everywhere. Bangkok is an example.

I live here, in North Thailand, just because it is very cheap, I found a good wife, and I am too old now to keep looking, ...if not....

  11. with 300 $ you live better in Thailand than with 2000$ in the states.

in the USA you need at least 3000.

You must live in a high cost area of the US. $10,000 a year is easily possible(poverty line for 1) in much of the country. I can get a $325/month apartment in my hometown(aircon included). Add $150/month for food. Car is not required. Plenty live on even less. That kind of lifestyle would still cost less in Thailand though since you could find a decent apartment for $100 a month(1/3rd of us cost).

In some cheap areas of the US it is possible to live well with $1,500 if you are retired, single, not using and maintaining a car, and not paying health insurance. Many people, too many, have that kind of income in the US working full time and without benefits, and in need of a car. That's living on the edge.

In Thailand many single people can have a secure life with a $300 income. Out of tourist areas, it is very common to find nice small apartments under $70/month. I live in a nice town, and just cross street our home in Phayao, it is a new building with nice furnished studios renting for $50/month, with free WIFI and water. Most rented by young couples and students. Good enough, even for some retired foreigners and teachers.

Using Government hospitals and schools, a Thai working couple can live very well using motorbike for transportation. I know many, and with kids, even saving enough for short vacations, and some "luxuries" sometimes.

  12. The OP says bliss is being a 20 something living with a 30 year old model for free. Maybe so

I didn't really do as The Man told me, but bliss is also being a 60 year old in Thailand with a girl (very) much younger and that maybe doesn't come for free, but so what? -- you can't take it with you. BTW this photo was from yesterday. If the boo birds want to say that she doesn't stay with you other than for the money, I say, with a bod like that, who cares? 6 years on now.

You makes me worry now...She look like my wife.

  13. If you are young, smart, hard working individual, with vision for opportunities....most countries are good to make a good living working independently, and Asian countries are between the ones with greatest business opportunities, because its low cost of sources, and incentives to exports.

Getting a degree, and a 9 to 5 job, is just a warranty for a mediocre life. Entrepreneurs can make it faster and better in any country.

I personally regret not to coming to Thailand well before I did.
