Good news! This may be a good thing, if lenders do the proper qualifications, and under Government regulations.

Most farangs sometimes cannot believe that many Thai young couples are living well with a family income of not more than 20.000THB/month. Likes any other country, not everybody is bad budgeting income.

In most places in Thailand, out the tourist cities, it is very possible to build a nice home for 400.000THB on a 100.000THB small lot., or buy new small homes for less than 400.000TH, or townhouses for even less than that. I know a nice housing complex with houses under $300.000THB. Sure, no farangs are living in that particular place. By the way, on a very nice area close to Phayao.

A 26 years old Thai, by the local lending system in place, can finance up to 40 years term, and probably these low income loans will have low fix rates, under 6%. If you like maths, you will find that a 500.000THB loan in 40 years, makes a not very high monthly fixed payment for a low income young family. Any honest Government can creates honest plans for low income housing..but not Lending Corporations. That's why Low Income Housing Programs never work in some "free market" countries, where millions are homeless, even receiving Government "benefits".. Sounds familiar?

Before finding the right one I dated a lot for few years. Finding somebody on Thai dating sites it is frustrating because most women on those sites are looking for a "sponsor", and most of the times they found the right one for them after dating dozens..at the same time. Also so few speaks good English, and just that creates a lot of misunderstandings and confusion. Do not worry. It is not your fault. They are too busy "choosing" and having "fun".

If I have to do all over again, I never will look for nice women in Thai dating sites. I wasted a lot of time and energy with that. Later, and for first time in Facebook, I found out that many good people and very interesting English speaking Thai women are Facebook users, and many are interested in contact foreigners for many reasons, friendship, business, and dating. Even wealthy women, very successful young business women, professionals, and many very beautiful.

I think that you biggest problem is not Thailand. It is that you do felt old at 42.....and ready to retire.

You will feel unhappy anywhere in the World.

Trump got lucky..For many reason all the other candidates, Republicans and Democrats will not get the votes, and he will win the Presidency.

Very bad choice for the US and the World...but will be the result of the Obama's Fiasco and Clinton's Legacy.

He is just an entertainer, and actor, and a dishonest business billionaire, and all that makes him a very smart contender looking for his own interest and profit. He is not getting money from big corporations now but.... he is also not attacking them in any way....Why?

Because he will get the money...when he is in total control and can set the conditions, and he will get even more billions from the oil, the banking, the insurance, and the military monopolies....and set the world on a path of a Global World.

Environment, Alternative Energy, Social Justice, and Peace, are not in his agenda. Profit and Discrimination are because he, like most Americans, believes that the World still in colonial times, and the US can control the World...with money and/or force.

The only thing good about a Trump Government, is that...after the chaos it will created, new generations may finally fight for a real Change.

i hope trump wins, only because i can see he cares about his country, he has vision, he is allready a self made billionaire and if anyone can turn this mess around i think trump is the only one.

He does know how to tap into the fear of the struggling middle class by constantly talking about the modern day bogeyman, the immigrant. Jeb was the anointed of the powerful insiders. Now that he's in full rejection mode of the voters, they are turning to Rubio. If their votes in SC were added together, Bush and Rubio would have lost badly to Trump.

Tuesday Trump is going to crush these guys - Rubio and Cruz - in Nevada. When will they take a hint that Americans don't want them?

There are lots of rumors now that some of the biggest donors are considering backing Trump to get on the winning side. Sorry, there are no tickets for sale and that train left the station without them.

And I have a rich friend, former BMW owner, that bought exactly that model Volvo last year saying that he NEVER will buy a JAPANESE or AMERICAN car...only GERMAN!

After having so many afairs with married women, Thai and Westerners.....It is not easy to trust women. Any woman.

Yes, they are dangerous depending the location and conditions.

On countryside areas principally dogs are very territorial, and enter they areas and houses without the owner, or at night, is not a good idea.

Dog are more dangerous if they are in groups, and/or in mating season. If the leader attack the rest will follow, and can be lethal. Also, if the dog bite and do not have way to check its health, will be mandatory to get the series of rabies shots on any hospital. Complicated and expensive.

Walking with a strong cane, or having any spray on hand, can help in case of a single dog attack.

You can rent a van with driver for about 2500THB/day plus gasoline. Ask any travel office, making sure that will include full insurance for the passengers.

Country full of sicko's.....it happens in Village life a lot more than you will ever know.

I seem to remember having read that in other countries similar problems are occurring as well.

In all South America, Africa, Philippines, India, rape of children are very common, and a well known problem...

I really believe that Thai people are very stupid cheaters...and very dangerous.

I have some Thai friends, very proud in talking about they adventures outside the marriage without worries, but also thinking that their wives are angels...Something that also I know is not true. Everything is a drama to happens anytime.

A close friend of my wife living just cross street from us, married a lot younger low rank police officer months ago, buying him a brand new Fortuner and a brand new Novara truck for his use.

She is kind of wealthy. He moved to her house. Last week his wife was out the town, and he drove in with 2 very beautiful young women, leaving hours later. In a country where gossip is a tradition/addiction... not a smart move.

He was lucky that my wife was working out at that time, but I witnessed all the movement and he saw me. If something happens, I hope this guy will not think that I commented something to my wife.....or her wife. He is not only stupid..he is not very friendly at all....and armed.

Asus Fonepad works good , takes a sim card for data or calling and has an SD card to add memory.....

I think the data sim card is worth the trouble unless you can tether from your smart phone ,

This kind of crime has to be punished very hard...but...it is something that I cannot understand happening on the Internet. More and more free sites with all kind of pornographic, even in you tube, it is the normal now. I do not have doubts that many crimes related to sex, like rapes, etc, with young people involved, is motivated for what they see online. Any Thai kid with a smart phone or laptop can access those hundred of pornographic sites online, without to pay for, and without any age verification. Will the Government and Police to punish people for watching those pictures and videos online too???....If they do, probably will have to fine and put in jail all the high school and university students.

And...before you make any comment about....yes...sometimes I watch that with my wife. Some videos are very weird..some are funny....some are good motivation to our fantasies....We are no kids anymore, but kids do not deal with that "inspiration" very well most of the times. Teenagers rape and pregnancy is very common in many countries now...and is not reported. Sex education in schools it is very rare. Thanks god..we do not have teenagers children to be worry about that anymore.....but...I cannot stop to worry about our friends and family children walking hooked to their portable computers all day, in home and schools, without supervision.

I can mention many things, good and bad about retiring here. But one, in my opinion, it is MANDATORY.....

If you are not willing to learn the language...better retire where you can communicate better...or in your own.
