  1. Season 3 of The Bay has been released. It's on TVC now and I expect it to hit other usual places in the next few days. "A crime drama set in Morecambe, following Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong who works for the West Lancashire Police Service. A fresh take on crime, whereby tension arises not only from the investigations, but from Lisa’s lies and internal conflicts." 7.1 on IMDb
  2. You can’t do that, in order to get married in Thailand you have to prove that you’re free to marry. Being married already rules that out.
  3. Well yes, but there's de jure and de facto. I'm talking in terms of the latter. As they said they were engaged and today married that's good enough for me. I do use her name when talking here and the titles that you refer to, it is expected of me and I don't find it difficult or awkward. I was up at 3.00 this morning so was semi-comatose when I originally posted and used a poor choice of word in "address", so apologies for that, what I really meant was 'refer to', as in the sentence: "I'll be posting some pics for friends and family back home and I'm not sure how I should refer to them."
  4. I guess you missed this bit: " I'll be posting some pics for friends and family back home and I'm not sure how I should refer to them."
  5. I did a transfer a couple of days ago. for a couple of hours after my money was transfered to Wise they had a status of "delayed", but that was it. I conducted the transaction on the Wise site on Wednesday evening, having already instructed my UK bank to transfer funds to Wise on Thursday. the money was in my Thai bank late on Thursday morning Thai time.
  6. That is unknown to all except for the agent, hence us both using "if". I'm inclined to agree with those who suspect that this is a fabricated story though.
  7. Hi, My niece is in a relationship with what Thais refer to as a tom. Up until now I referred to 'her partner' then 'her fiance(e)' but they're getting married today. I'll be posting some pics for friends and family back home and I'm not sure how I should refer to them. Sorry if it sounds a daft question but I thought this would be a good place to get some advice. I'll check back later for replies as I'm off to join the ceremony now, thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks, looks promising. The second Movie is A.K.A. "On the Job: The Missing 8"
  9. ...and the return of a few other decent series (IMHO) this month: Undercover Season 3 A 2019 Belgian-Dutch Dutch-language crime drama streaming television series starring Tom Waes, Anna Drijver and Frank Lammers. The plot revolves around a story inspired by real-life events, where undercover agents infiltrate a drug kingpin's operation in Limburg, a Flemish province bordering the Netherlands. The infiltration is executed by two agents, Bob Lemmens (Tom Waes) and Kim de Rooij (Anna Drijver), who are posing as a couple at the campground where the drug kingpin spends his weekends. IMDb: 7.8 S.W.A.T. Season 5 A re-make of and big improvement on the old show of the same name. IMDb: 7.1 After Life Series 3 After Tony's wife dies unexpectedly, his nice-guy persona is altered into an impulsive, devil-may-care attitude; taking his old world by storm. IMDb: 8.4 Ozark Season 4 After a money laundering scheme for a Mexican drug cartel goes wrong, financial advisor Martin "Marty" Byrde proposes to make amends by offering to set up a bigger laundering operation in the Lake of the Ozarks region of central Missouri. Marty suddenly relocates his family from the Chicago suburb of Naperville to the remote summer resort community of Osage Beach, Missouri. When the Byrdes arrive in Missouri, they become entangled with local criminals, including the Langmore and Snell families, and later the Kansas City Mafia. IMDb: 8.4
  10. 6th and final season of Peaky Blinders heading our way soon.....
  11. I watched the original series as a small kid - and the remake as a big kid. Thanks for posting as we liked this and I thought it had been cancelled after season 2.
  12. 1,000 or even 400 Baht may well be paltry to you and I but for those toiling long hours for just a few hundred Baht a day they most certainly are not. The problem with the fines is not the amount but rather that the lack of enforcement and dismal collection rates has removed any deterrent effect. If there really was a strict crackdown it would, IMHO, result in a fairly swift change in behaviour for many.
  13. "In recent years 40,000 motorcyclists have been prosecuted since 2018 and fined 44 million baht for sidewalk parking and riding offences." I wonder how much of that 44 million Baht they've bothered to collect.........
  14. Out of scope rather than omitted, Sopranos started in 1999, it seems that they were looking at shows that first aired in 2000 or later.
  15. It was not an accident by any stretch of the imagination. It was predictable, preventable and the family, police and government are culpable.
  16. Yes, just the two episodes so far from season 1 - but episode 2 is yet to be broadcast in the UK, I understand.
