Taking the plunge
ozfarang replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I've read the entire thread and posted a couple of comments. I'm off to see a visa agent on Tuesday to change from an extension of stay based on marriage to a Non-O retirement visa. Had enough of dealing with immigration myself, I'll pay an agent to do that. -

'connected', that wouldn't be a connection that requires something in return from your agent. Nothing in the Kingdom is strictly legit when the RTP are involved -

ozfarang replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm sure they know what's going on and are mostly all part of the 'business model' and all reap their due rewards. You have to remember all the immigration officers are members of the RTP and as you have been in Thailand a considerable amount of time you would surely know how 'bent' the cops are. -

You have got no idea how the agent 'gravy train' operates. It's been going on a lot longer than you have been in the Kingdom -

Extension of Stay based upon Marriage
ozfarang replied to spetersen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes, and that is the reason I will not be doing an extension based on marriage next month when due but change to a Non-Imm O based on retirement and pay an agent to do all the paper work. Every year there is always another document Immigration want and I'm tired of playing the the 'game'. I'm happy to pay an agent and never have to deal with Immigration myself in the future. No more Immigration stress. -

ozfarang replied to Brer's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
@BrerI just logged onto myGov and then to Centrelink. Had no trouble accessing 'Managing income and assets' on the drop down menu 'Income and assets'. It took a while to load. I'm using osMac High Sierra and Safari browser -
Another article about how successful Vietnam has been in recent times attracting foreign investment and an economy growing at double the pace of Thailand. While wages are low Vietnam will continue to attract more foreign investment to the detriment of Thailand and its backward looking 'government'. China the big loser here. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/10/6/vietnam-eyes-chinas-tech-crown-as-firms-flee-zero-covid

Can I lodge my application online? Going online is the easiest way to complete your application, but you still have to lodge it in person. -

@luckyblock token, you are correct, the reviews on trustpilot are scathing of Agoda. It would make you think twice to use their services. Having said that, I have used Agoda for booking in Asia only for over 8 years and never had a problem, ever.

My wife is a dual passport holder and has been travelling in and out of Thailand many years. In and out of Australia, Australian passport and when making the booking use Australian passport details. In and out of Thailand, Thai passport. Thai check in nearly always ask about visa for Australia and she just shows her Australian passport. Immigration, never a problem

@Pompey Lad 1938, do you have account with Air Asia? If so login and on the payment page(final booking page) is a button to select if you have credit in your account and the credit will be available to pay for your ticket. Just checked my account on a web browser on laptop. If you have tried this and still cannot claim your credit, I can't help. Hope you're successful with you credit redemption
