That's correct @whereyougo Portability is another issue altogether. You need to stay in Australia(apart from short holidays) for 2 years after returning to Australia to live to gain portability of you pension

You might have heard of someone getting an exception to the 2 year portability rule, very, very unlikely if you read Human Resources rules. If you you are married you get the married pension regardless of your wife's eligibility for the pension. Just let Centrelink know you're single.

All the information that they collected at your home visit would have been included in your extension paperwork so why the need for a home visit? Immigration seem to be distrusting of farang who stay in the Kingdom on Non-O visas/extensions, based on retirement/marriage. It is really is a pathetic stay of affairs. The cost is worth it as it saves being stuffed around by immigration, that I've put up with for over 40 years, and have had enough. As you were and continue on with what you do for extensions
