Well, given that "Bangkok Traffic" was assigned and said to be solved by 2022, it's not too much to expect that mafia-style gangs - which are literally part of the Thai social fabric - will be eradicated. You could make a point that the entire Thai social pyramid is built on the mafia and corruption. And that most of the power and authority rests with corrupt organizations. There is no shame on senior politicos like Anutin who proclaims this sort of gibberish with a straight face.

Public Ministry to set up National Health Security Board
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Huh? I think the good doctor is confused. And what the heck is a National Health Security Board? -
Did you pay any money when you signed the contract? How much? What service and term did you agree to? What prompted you to seek out True? Talk to neighbors, see what they use and what is available. Most places still only allow one provider. Note that AIS Fibre and 3BB are/have merged so that should make things easier.

So are the Vikings one of the "good" motorcycle gangs here? And is he chapter President, or Club (THA) President? And can you change from a Wife extension to a Retirement extension in country? -
Pol Gen Torsak tipped to be new national police chief
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Big Joke, having purchased his Elephant Ticket early on, leap-frogged his peers (class number) in rank. (BTW, some of his peers were unhappy with his "advancement".) He is 53 or 54 years old, and tradition still favors rank, and length of service, and age. Big Joke will become National Police Chief, but maybe not for a few more cycles? -
Officer suspect in Kamnan Nok shooting case kills self
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Given how incompetently this group of officers (and influential people) tried to cover up the original crime, it strains credulity to insinuate that this group of idiots somehow staged a suicide. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Meanwhile the two most senior police (Generals) who were also at the party, have been place on leave. -
Move Forward accuse government of reneging on election promises
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The bulk of the criticism (95 %)of the government's "policy statements" as presented yesterday was mostly about it's unprofessional, slap-dash nature. With vague "plans" and very little detail on timelines and metrics. And very little criticism (5 %) was about the breaking of campaign promises. Most of his plans were just bullet points, representing "ideas". Srettha earned a failing grade, but as is the custom here, he was given a Thai "C", because, well, no one can be failed. Srettha appears to be lazy, unprofessional and unable to forge, let alone lead this alliance. He's doomed, and the powers that be will ride him into the ground. It will get much much uglier. -
Confirmed dead. Meanwhile senior Police have been transferred to inactive duty. Police Major General Chakkrit Khruesunthornwanich, the Provincial Police Commander of Nakhon Pathom, and Police Colonel Phuphon Thapcharoen, the Superintendent of Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police Station, have been transferred to inactive duty pending an investigation into the murder of Pol Maj Sivakorn "Inspector Bank" Saibua. Pol Maj Gen Chakkrit and Pol Col Phuphon were at the birthday party of subdistrict headman Praween "Kamnan Nok" Chankhlai where the shooting took place.

Pol. Col. Wachira Yaothaisong, Superintendent of Highway Police Division 2, used a gun to shoot himself on Monday inside a house in the Khu Khot area of Pathum Thani Province, whose condition is currently unknown. The cause is not yet known for certain, but initially it was thought to be from stress after being accused of calling Pol.Lt.Col. Sivakorn Saibua, a 32-year-old lieutenant of the highway patrol, and ordering him to go to the sub-district headman's house in Nakhon Pathom Province on September 6. The gunman, who was close to the sub-district headman, shot and killed Pol.Lt.Col. Sivakorn that night. Khaosod English Facebook This one will last a few weeks I think, but it does highlight the vast spread of corruption at the provincial level. Interesting that the press refers to them as "Influential People".

PM refuses more funding for International Horticultural Expo in Udon Thani
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
The graft on this must be staggering. This event runs for 4 1/2 months. EXPO LOCATION: Nong Dae Wetland, Kut Sa Sub-district, Mueang Udon Thani District, Udon Thani Province PARK SIZE: 1,650,000 m² (165 hectares) https://aiph.org/upcomingexpos/udon-thani-international-horticultural-expo-2026/ -
"So far..." Yes, it's been a brilliant six days since he was sworn into office last Tuesday. Based on video and news reports he doesn't seem very open-minded (other than telling anyone exactly what they want to hear), and he is far from "approachable", again based on reports and video. "Intelligent"? I'll take your word on that one. In just six days he's already walked back two MAJOR campaign promises: 10,000 Baht Digital Wallet, which he banished to the back seat of a Thai TAxi-cab hoping the driver doesn't return it, and the 20 baht electric train fare. So maybe not so "fine"?

I shall, once they explode and make the news. Obviously this latest submarine engine fiasco has been brewing for some time, but only became an issue this week when the new government was saddle with it. Next may be they requirement for the government to bail out the Village Fund and many of the Savings Cooperatives. Just watch Srettha scurry from one crisis to another and you'll see the explosions. IMO MFP was lucky to have been denied the opportunity to lead this government given the shambles it was left in.

Given the effort various senior government officials are putting in to keeping this story somewhat contained, some suspect this may lead to one of the bigger corruption schemes ever in Thailand. What started as personal feud, expanded to encompass the truck sticker scheme, which in turn has unveiled epic levels of corruption in many provinces surrounding governors and the letting of construction contracts, which have been pilfered at historic rates.

The Prayuth regime, after eight years of rule pillaging the country's coffers, have left this government with nothing but problems, many of which are hidden. The corruption they've allowed to grow will make solving any problem much more challenging. Unexploded mines everywhere. Can't see Srettha lasting what, six months?

Is Thailand’s education system safe in the hands of Bhumjaithai Party?
