  1. My guess is that he wants to appear to be a player, AND prevent MF from asking BJT to join a coalition.
  2. Meh, overly simplistic, and that's not what is holding back BJT joining the coalition. Pita can offer a different ministry, other than MoPH (and MoT for that matter), and still reign in Cannabis, if that is important.
  3. She should speak to her fellow South Carolinian, Lindsey Graham, whom I think proposed a Federal ban. She shouldn't speak to Tim Scott who clearly doesn't have a definable position. IMO, Ms. Haley is weak and shallow, and duplicitous. As are most Repbulicans on this issue. She'll say anything on this issue to get through a news cycle. Nikki Haley calls for 'consensus' and 'sensitivity' on abortion but says specifics will take work "I do believe there is a federal role on abortion," Haley said. Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Tuesday made a her case for a "consensus" on abortion, an issue that continues to divide conservatives. But she stopped short of adopting strict stances -- such as embracing or rejecting a national ban at a certain week in pregnancy -- beyond saying the government needed to have some role and stressed that she wanted fewer abortions in the country. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/nikki-haley-calls-consensus-sensitivity-abortion-avoids-specifics/story?id=98829598
  4. Probably not unless he commits to not allowing any reforms of the Institution, and does not allow Thaksin to return. BJT has enough seats to help a coalition assume power without any Senators votes.
  5. If Pita commits to: Zero reforms of the Institution Not letting Thaksin back He will garner enough Senate support to become PM. If not, can't see that happening. Obviously BJTs seats could put him over the top, so he'd be wise to keep Chidchob on speed-dial. This (BJT joining the coalition) may also be why Chuwit lost his grip at MoveForward HQ? It is said that some Senators are willing to support Pita without these pre-conditions, but maybe not enough and those that are willing are being very "demanding".
  6. It looks like MVF will not ask BJT to join in the government, even though their seats would put them over 376, and will try to peel of ~ 60-70 Senators instead. Odds are moving on Cannabis restrictions, maybe medical only with a qualifying condition, for Thais only, subject to a DTAM Doctor's examination and approval.
  7. Until such time as someone OD's on a sex toy, the police should focus on drug interdiction. Of course with daily busts of millions of pills of meth, and ketamine, maybe they need some time to relax with the toys?
  8. Gov. Abott will be along shortly with his pardon.
  9. Did you check the front porch, in the rocking chair? Follow the banjo music. This clown Comer's got nothing on a bag of rocks.
  10. There's a word for this sort of post in a thread like this...what is it? It's on the tip of my tongue.
  11. Twenty-two seats (projected) down from fifty-three. Stick a fork in these losers.
  12. The people blasting Biden on this comment will be staging a Tiki-torch march soon, chanting will be mandatory. We're one Timothy McVeigh short of a major incident I fear.
  13. My current read (pre-election, I'll stick with it) re-listing as a narcotic as soon as a new MoPH Minister is appointed: 10% some new, minor regulations pending the CCA and the formation of the Cannabis Control Board: 50% No changes until the CCA is gazetted: 40% The CCA could contain many new restrictions including medical only (supervised by DTAM). Impossible to predict at this point One major question is if BJT will join MVF and PTP in a coalition government.
  14. Wow! An Orange Wave, and it has swept the Military parties out to sea. What a rebuke for the 3Ps. It will be interesting to see how Prayuth handles such a massive and embarassing loss. Regarding the next coalition government, MVF+PTP+BJT would only require peeling off a dozen or so Senators, to get to 376. There have ben news reports about certain senators being identified as malleable. This assumes Pita hasn't read any news articles about "media shares" in the last 40 years, for which he could be charged/banned and his party dissolved. Major obstacles remain if the next government to pushes too hard a Shinawatra re-patriation, or any reform of the Institution. The latter of which would likely spark a military repsonse.
  15. The Grand Jury might offer Manslaugher in the First Degree, but the prosecutor will need to present a ton of evidence supporting "intent". That might be impossible.
  16. Sixty-Seven Parties on the Party List. Nearly as complex a the Cheescake Factory menu.
  17. I cleaned this up, I think it is acceptable now… Cannabis is not a top ten political issue for Thais. No one is “voting on cannabis”, unless they are truly on cannabis when voting. Stop trying to make this a thing. It’s not even a top 20 issue. It is legal to grow/produce, distribute/sell, consume cannabis flower. You can smoke in public, but not if it causes a nuisance. Individual MP members of PTP, MVF, PPP petitioned the Administrative Court to re-list Cannabis as a narcotic in Nov. 2022. MVF as a party, petitioned the Ombudsman asking them to petition the Administrative Court to re-list Cannabis as a narcotic, also in Nov. 2022. Cannabis is regulated, and some articles fail on this point, using scare tactics to infer that the entire industry is some sort of version of Prohibition era Chicago. There are regulations on production, distribution and consumption. Could there be more regulations? Yes, of course. Get Parliament in session and revive the Cannabis Control Act. The Police could canvass every shop in a single morning, to verify licensing, record-keeping, revenue and tax history. Close to a million (980,000 per Thaiger) Thais have registered to grow cannabis, most are or plan to be small operations, for personal use. Were Cannabis to be re-criminalized this segment would need guidance, help transitioning. The next steps are to arrange a government, convene a session of Parliament, and pass the CCA. A first draft/reading passed with ease, then everything went off the rails, because of huge alterations and the clock running out. There are bigger issues/problems for Thailand. But most of those are difficult to acknowledge let alone address. So, as is human nature, we focus on the minor, inconsequential issues because? Maybe they are easy black/white issues? Regarding the number of physical shops selling cannabis, it should be noted that On-Line Sales and Advertising were banned/restricted on/about 11 November 2022” The minister of the MOPH has announced that the MOPH announcement of June 17, 2022, will be repealed and replaced by the November 11, 2022, Announcement Re: Controlled Herbs (Cannabis). Unlike the prior announcement, the new announcement states that only the inflorescence of marijuana (Cannabis sativa) is a controlled herb. This means any dispensaries that sell such inflorescence must obtain a license from the MOPH first. Dispensaries that sell other parts of the marijuana plant (but not inflorescence) or hemp will not need a license. Similar to the prior announcement, it is prohibited to sell marijuana inflorescence to any person under the age of twenty, or to a pregnant or breastfeeding women. In addition, the new announcement also disallows the following: Selling marijuana inflorescence for smoking at a dispensary shop; Selling marijuana inflorescence through a vending machine, electronic channel, or computer network; Advertising marijuana inflorescence through any channel. https://conventuslaw.com/report/cannabis-dispensaries-and-e-commerce-in-thailand-will-there-be-another-surprise/ *inflorescence means cannabis flower. This may have been rescinded or changed in the interim, but any limitation for on-line sales means that the only retail source would be a shop. Will all that have opened be needed? No, of course not, but some will be. Obviously, many many many shops and groups/individuals are advertising and selling on line, so either this restriction is not being enforced, or it is no longer in effect. My current read re-listing as a narcotic as soon as a new MoPH Minister is appointed: 10% some new, minor regulations pending the CCA and the formation of the Cannabis Control Board: 50% No changes until the CCA is gazetted: 40% The CCA could contain many new restrictions including medical only (supervised by DTAM). Impossible to predict at this point.
  18. I think this is it... https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Bank-Memorandum-5.10.23.pdf
  19. Thanks for this, been looking for nearly a day.
  20. When you lose Steve Doocy you know you're really in trouble. Has this 30 page "probe" been released yet? Maybe some Air National Guardsman could leak it. The roughly 30-page report detailed what lawmakers say are various companies and financial records tied to family members of Mr Biden, including his son, Hunter Biden, and daughter-in-law, Hallie Biden. https://news.yahoo.com/house-republicans-release-probe-biden-205614084.html The Comer clown should do more investigatin', and less flappin' of his gums.
  21. Excuse me sir, how many times have you been arrested? Twenty-five. OK, I don't have to kill you, today. This one. But maybe this is a trick question?

  23. I assumed, based on the headline, that "festive" clothing was being banned because Thai democracy is sacrosanct. So no skimpy outfits or twerking. Ooops. You'd think they'd have a list of rules prepared, and would be publishing them in the weeks leading up to the election. Ooops. And why is the RTP issuing voting rules?
