  1. Treating those charged with Lese Majeste differently is not a good look, and reflects badly on the Institution.
  2. Like most things in Thailand, when they work as expected they're "excellent". When they don't, they're not. Trouble-shooting 90 day report rejections can be challenging. Currently, a mismatch between TM30 and TM47 data may be the leading cause. Office is CW? Have you successfully used this system before? If so, you used the magnifying glass option to enter data previously submitted? What is you TM30 status? I might file a new TM 30, then try the TM47.
  3. Too much tennis at the Police General Tennis Facility requires the use of an arm brace. Or did he have surgery to repair his tennis elbow? I guess they must have brought in a hair dye specialist at the Police Hospital. The neck brace seems like a dodge, he's got his neck turned quite a bit in the photo.
  4. If it quacks like a lame-duck it's a lame-duck. Srettha's sell-by date is rapidly approaching. He's only useful now as an idiot/fall guy.
  5. There is an establishment on Sukhumvit Soi 4, L-Seven which has a lion on the premises, for marketing purposes. https://www.facebook.com/cafestorythailand/posts/1518267558948361/ It may have been removed since the anti-Lion brigade got their panties in a bunch (that's a joke). Several children have mysteriously gone missing in the area. 😉
  6. From the linked opinion piece... At the head of this problem lies the absence of leadership from the White House. While Russia has put its economy onto a full war footing, China continues to push its military exercises and Iranian proxies fire missiles across its region, the British and American armies have serious recruitment problems, perhaps caused by our delusion that “diversity”, “representation” and other such woke mantras should be the priority of our armed forces. So there it is, diversity and wokeness (whatever that means) are the problems.
  7. He's got MBS on speed-dial, and his PIF has loads of cash, see also Jared's $2B. Ring him up and trade some RE for cash, or future deliverables (arms, nukes).
  8. "Sir, this is a Wendy's." Besides your lame whataboutism, what does an "emergency" "auxiliary" bill have to do with this topic? Maybe go back and self-satisfy over those 1023's?
  9. 2014 Bangkok Shutdown protest leaders were CONVICTED of Sedition and were granted bail within 36 hours where they currently remain free awaiting appeals. Raise three fingers, honk a horn? Proceed directly to remand without bail. That said, it's better than the old days when they would just murder and disappear those who opposed the State. Now they use the "justice" system, and its inherent threat, to suppress freedoms. The recent move to gin up pro-royalist support and sentiment is a huge tell.
  10. So the PM is anti-free trade. And pro-inflation. Good to know.
  11. Ms. Swift canceled her previously scheduled concert (Muang Thong Thani) here in 2014, most likely as a result of Prayuth's coup and a concern for safety. There is no suitable venue here for the ERAS tour. Many people in SE Asia would fly into Bangkok, just as they are doing in Singapore, for a Swift concert. The PM should not be discussing the terms of the contract between Singapore/promoters and Swift's management team in public. Bad form, and very unprofessional. Rajamangala National Stadium is a dump. Instead of talking the PM should be doing, something, anything. Build a world-class facility. I know a few Thai people who tried for the lottery in Singapore but came up empty. There are several YT videos of Thai people attending ERAs tour concerts in the U.S.
  12. I assume the ISOC will be keeping an eye on him. https://wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/06BANGKOK5203_a.html https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/courts/2017/05/15/sentences-upheld-soldiers-linked-alleged-thaksin-assassination-plot/
  13. For CW, when they first started asking for this map (~ 5 years ago?), they wanted you to draw it in real-time. For the past few years I've made this drawing before going for my extension. It is accepted. So the "they want to see if you know where you live" excuse seems dubious, as I could have a third-party "hand-draw" a map for me.
  14. This image raises doubts about how healthy the Thai medical system is. He looked quite chipper when he returned. Six months later he looks near death.
  15. Hapkarn is smart enough to keep the nefarious dealing with underlings at a respectable and deniable distance. The way in which he had to humiliate himself and crawl to Torsak's mansion clearly showed that he is just as corrupt as all the other top brass. The main reason why others in the RTP dislike him is that he was able to afford - via a very wealthy wife - to overpay for his unheard of rapid promotions.
  16. Looks like he was in a car accident and is heading to court. The arm sling and neck brace are curious accouterments for someone who was/is so deathly ill.
  17. trump campaigning in Michigan for the republican primary. He says get out and vote on November 27. The primary is February 27. https://twitter.com/BidenHQ/status/1759029628759429426 “Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.”
  18. trump's going to have to hawk a whole lot of $399 gold sneakers to pay off this penalty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRlbu0e0Lf8
  19. James Comer discovers how difficult it is to pedal backward with his face covered in egg. What an effing doofus. Meanwhile, Hannity did 85 segments, which included 28 extended monologues on this "informant".
  20. I see these in the linked article... Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, extracts from cannabis plants or cannabis extracts or products from cannabis, with a content exceeding 0.2% by weight and a net weight not exceeding 30,000 milligrams, in liquid form with a net volume not exceeding 30 milliliters Psilocybin or psilocin-containing mushrooms or other mushrooms in the same genus, with a net weight not exceeding 135,000 milligrams (+)-lysergide or LSD or LSD 25 not exceeding 5 units for use or net weight not exceeding 100 milligrams

  22. "The Football Era" has landed. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/vjt993#33f1c5ed There was a back-up aircraft in place, called The Backup Quarterback.
  23. The cocktail known as "4x100" has been around for decades, and has caused a lot of problems including death by overdose. It's made with Kratom (extracted), cough syrup, Coca-Cola, and ice. The legalization of Kratom, if reports in the press are to be believed, has led to a big spike in the use/abuse of Kratom. The problem is said to be worse in the restive Southern provinces. According to reports in the press, the current price is 5 - 10 baht per pill, in small volumes (five or fewer). And a few years ago it was 300 baht. Once fentanyl gets here, and most expect that to happen sooner rather than later, it might be over for a significant segment of Thai youth.
  24. Agree that this is not a significant change. Curious though about the 30 gram/30 ml limit. Below that limit, I assume, possession is and remains a crime, with punishments detailed elsewhere.* While above those limits, there are more significant punishments listed. As always with Thai "laws", a bit confusing. If they wanted to limit the recreational use of cannabis flower they could have added it back to the Narcotics list, or codified production, sale, and use as criminal elsewhere. * Reflecting a bit on this, perhaps the intent is to support medicinal use, only extracts will be allowed, and possession/use in quantities below 30/30 will be legal for "patients". And only those so licensed can produce/sell in quantities above 30/30?
  25. I think you send USSD codes via the modem's UI. If so, *545# send will return the number associated with that SIM. Alternatvely, pop it into your phone temporarily and send the same USSD code using the phones's dialer app.
