  1. Hi all, I did ask you the same question a few months ago, but at that time I was going to do this when I was staying at my Thai friend's but I started to wonder if it would be a better idea if I do it when I was staying in a hotel for just a few nights. In that case, will the hotel issue a TM30 to me before I can report to the Immigration Office for the transfer? Thank you in advance!
  2. And maybe you'd stay in Vientiane for a night or two before coming back to Thailand to stay on the safe side.
  3. First of all, sorry to hear that the Israeli passport holders are not allowed to enter Muslim countries like Malaysia. When I visited Indonesia years ago, I did meet 2 Israelis there: one with a US passport and the other with a French passport. One of the best bets would be for you to fly either from Surat Thani or Chumphon to Vientiane via DMK. As of right now, it'll cost you around 3,000B one way. The cheaper way would be to fly to Udon Thani via DMK (around 1,600B one way) and then enter Laos by land. Good luck!
  4. Can I transfer at CW if I don't stay in BKK but in Pathum Thani? What document will be needed and how much will that cost?
  5. That's useful information, thank you! When I last got my 1-year extension on my Non-B transferred from my old passport to my new passport, I had to pay 500B for it with no receipt. Yes, I'm going to enter Thailand on visa-exemption this time so all I'll have to do is just bring both my old and new passports to Passport Control before leavning Thailand, isn't it? Can I do that at the land borders, too?
  6. Yes, I'm going to enter Thailand on visa-exemption. I'm just coming back to see my Thai friends near BKK. I would usually not do a TM30 just to see them but I'll have to go to the immigration office to get my Thai entry stamp transferred from the old passport to the new passport. That's what I've done before.
  7. Hi All, I'm staying in Vietnam now but am planning to go back to Thailand early next year to renew my passport. The process will take a few weeks. I'm planning to stay in my Thai friend's near BKK then. I've lived in Thailand for 10 years on a Non-B but the landlords would always submit the TM30 to the Immigration Offices for me but I've never done that by myself before, to be honest. Could you please tell me how to do it by yourself? I can imagine having to go to the Immigration Office to collect a form and go back there to submit it after filling it out. Will they charge you for it? I heard that you must get it done within the 24hrs of entering Thailand; otherwise you'll get fined for not doing it. Thank you in advance.
  8. You should do your 90-day report if you come back to Thailand with a re-entry permit.

  10. Whether or not to be allowed to enter / re-enter Thailand is at the discretion of the IOs.
  11. ubonjoe would often advise us to stay out of Thailand for a night or two before coming back to the Kingdom from the border bounce to stay on the safe side.

  13. Hi All, I saw the post that someone made his 3rd visa-exempt entry into Thailand by land this calendar year. I came back to Thailand on my 2nd visa-exempt entry by land last week, and am planning to make a border bounce for my 3rd one later this year. I stayed in Thailand for only a week on my 1st one, though. Has anybody made their 3rd visa-exempt entry into Thailand by land recently? Thank you in advance!
  14. That would depend upon the IO! Having lived in Thailand for almost 10 years on a Non-B, I went back to Thailand on my 1st visa-exemption this year and that by land, left and flew back to DMK 4 months later, when I got stopped by the IO, who started to ask me why I had had so many Thai stamps in my passport. I answered him that it was just because I had lived in Thailand on a Non-B for the last 10 years, but then I got taken to the office, where another officer that attended me was so rude and arrogant! All I had to do was fill in a form where I had to write the reason for visiting Thailand again, They let me in in the end, with nothing written or stamped in my passport except the entry stamp! I was never ever worried that I might be denied entry, though! No other passenger was at Passport Control when I got there after the toilet, so the IO, who seemed young and unprofessional to me, must of killed his time by acting bossy to me! Good luck!
  15. Hi, First of all, where are you going to apply for a new Non-B? To Vientiane or Savannakhet in Laos? There was one time that I went all the way to Vientiane via NongKhai with a termination letter from my old school, whom I had cancel my WP. Yes, you should cancel your current Non-B and WP with your old school before applying for new ones with your new school!
  16. 1. Do a border bounce to Laos I don't know how much you'll have to pay for a Lao visa on arrival but it should be around 1,400B if it costs around US$40. 2. Get an extension 1,900B 3. Pay for your overstay when you fly out 1,500B (500B x 3 days) I hope you don't get caught on your way to the airport, though.
  17. Thanks for your info! Does that mean that citizens of countries under bilateral agreement are entitled to unlimited visa-exempt entries like Brasil or Peru as well as Russia?
  18. Thanks very much for all your comments/reports! I heard that Russian Passport Holders are allowed many visa-exempt entries even by land, though. Do you know what nationalities are eligible for them?
  19. Hi All, Supposing that you're based in one of the neighbouring countries such as Cambodia or Laos, would you still be allowed to enter Thailand by land up to only twice per calendar year? That's what I'm curious to know about. Thank you in advance!
  20. FYI, Bus #152 should still cost 5,000vnd (22cents), cheaper than bus #109.
  21. I just arrived in Ubon Ratchathani from BKK this morning, making me think of ubonjoe. I still can't believe that he's not here any more..
