Next month i have to do my yearly marriage visa. Has anyone been to the office at Phitsanulok and had it done yet ? I've heard its only doing retirement visa's so am a bit concerned. Also, for those who have been, whats it like, friendly staff, easy to find and problems etc etc.

  2. I live in Phnom Penh but plan to be in Bangkok this week. I would like to bring home a standard poodle of either sex (not neutered) if possible... I also might be interested in buying some healthy puppies if I can't find a standard... with an eye to breeding an occasional litter of puppies with my children (no puppy mill just raise a litter with the kids and pass them on to good families as pets). Please let me know if you have any information probably best to email me at please do nto post email addresses as forum rules , u can be PERSONALLY MESSAGED in addition to posting here.

Hi, i like you do breeding on a small scale, two females and one dog. I breed Siberian huskies as they fun, friendly, good temperament and very popular. I've just had a litter of 5 puppies all doing fine and very strong. Sell them for 6200 baht each and have sold two already. If your interested in breeding them and want any of the litter let me know and i'll forward you some pictures.

How do the Siberians fare in this heat? I saw some at Jatajuk market and felt sorry for them panting so much. I would have to have 2 non related to breed them...Do you live in Bangkok? contact me ... I was thinking smaller breeds. Are the pups ready now?

Sorry for the slow reply, been away.

Siberian huskies dont seem to mind the heat if they were born over here, which mine were. They will be ready in 10 days. I live in Sri Thep, 50 mins north of Saraburi but can meet up in northern Bangkok if you want to buy. Have only 2 left as i have sold 3 to Farang buyers already.

  4. I wonder if there is any new information about the estimated opening date of the Phitsanulok immigration office and its exact location, so that I may update my placemark on the map of Thai immigration offices:

    --

    Maestro

The immigration office is opposite the post office and along the river that crosses Phitsanulok. Behind the police station.

Hi, great photo, thanks for that.... but is it open yet ?

  5. There is a post on another topic here that it will be open for business on the 7th October. Folk at the Petchabun Golf course have been on about this office for months now.

I have just sent my 90 day report off by post to Nan, so will wait and see if there is any info in the reply about where to send off the next 90 day report.

For the South Petchabun folk (Amphurs Wichien Buri & Si Thep), the new office's in Lop Buri and Nakhon Sawan are much closer, but Phit-lok is are lot closer than Nan!, so cannot moan too much I suppose!.

Ps: I have a Brit mate in P-Lok teaching so I will PM him and see if he has the gen.

Hi, I live in Sri Thep. i know the offices in Lop Buri are way closer but was told to use the offices in Nan next time (December). Can you confirm (with certainty) that i'm able to use the Lop buri office. I'd much appreciate it (and would be well chuffed :) )

  6. I am lining up my Dynasat 10 foot dish to point to Intelsat 10 at 68.5 E. I used this site to work out the elevation from my garden and it is 49.7.

    http://www.dishpointer.com/

Fair enough. As the dish used to be motorised and set up to cover that part of the sky, I thought it would be good fun and fairly easy to manually locate the satellite. Well my wife and I are worn out pushing this quite heavy dish up and down and trying to get a 'lock'.

So I decided today to make it easier and buy a 'satellite finder'. We went to the 2 satellite shops on the Sukhumvit and Dcom, but no luck. Does anyone know where I could get one of these in Pattaya.

    Thanks for your help

Sorry, dont know where to buy a satfinder devise but just used the website you gave.... amazing. Typed in my address in Thailand and the satellite i wanted and it gave me all the information and a from an over view of my house.

    Thanks for that. :)

  7. Hi folks... I moved to thailand recently... I'm dying to find some caffeine free diet cola, I usually drink caffeine free diet coke or pepsi.

The only diet colas I can find are caffeinated. Seems very hard.

I can't find a place to buy it online, but maybe I could if my thai were better.

I tried drinking singha soda water, but it's not the same.... want my cfdc......

    Thanks for any tips....

I'm like you.... need caffeine free coke ! normal coke ruins my sleep, looked everywhere from Hua hin to Pattaya but no luck. I'm thinking of e-mailing Tesco's to see if they supply if in any of their stores... will let you know ! (whisky and soda... yuk!)

  8. hi,

i'd like to buy this kind of glove to train, i did visit the shop selling protein and all kind of substance near the PTT gas station in chaweng but they don"t have equipement...

do you know a place where i can buy them?

    thanks

I got those exact same gloves at 'Tesco's' complete with wrist supports and were surprisingly good quality.

  9. I had it done at Bumrungrad 4 years ago - I can't remember the price, but I think it was over 50.000 Baht.

It lasted just 4 years and now I am wearing glases again.

Everything was professional an after examination the first day (30 Minutes) the next day I had the surgery (45 Minutes)

It was not painfull but terrible to have someone strech your eyes to the limit. One week later I was still looking like a Zombie.

I was 49 years old and my eyesight is still getting worse, soo think about it. It just helps for 1 - 3 years, depending on your age.

    Munich

Munich, thanks for that. I had no idea it could only last 4 years and in Pattaya they're asking 88,000 baht. I'm not paying that for just 4 years. I'm 47 years old so my eye sight hasn't stopped changing either..... definitely giving it some thought ! :)

  10. I'm looking to have laser eye surgery.

Has anyone any information as to where to get it done and price's.

Went to Bangkok-Pattaya hospital (seemed expensive) and seen what they have but was wondering if anyone has had it done and if so the results... good, bad or indifferent ?

  11. Fairly straightforward!, take the 7 to Bangkok and past Airport look out for the exits onto the Route 9. You want the 9 to Bang Pa-in (Eastern Ring Road) At the end of the 9, keep in the right hand lane and head for Saraburi - Route No 1.

As you get closer to Saraburi look out for signs for Lopburi & Petchabun, there are at least 2 exits from the 1, onto the frontage road. This will get you onto the Saraburi by pass. After one set of lights look out for Lopburi & Petchabun green signs. Take the left hand lanes and keep on this 3 lane road. Follow past one set of traffic lights and as you approach the second set of lights, there are 4 lanes. The left two lanes are the Route 1 again to Lopburi, and the two right hand lanes are for Route 21 to Petchabun.

There are traffic lights here before going up the 21, so be prepared to stop etc.

Route 21 goes all the way to Petchabun city, many sets of lights and pesky Brown & Yellows in the main part of day.

Petchabun City police now have radar equipment and it gets a run out now and again.

Route 21 is pretty rural too, despite dual carriage way, plenty of local farmers on buffalo tractors and vehicles heading towards you on your side of the road, oh and people doing crazy things at U-turns!.

My last journey to Airport was in April and there appeared to be continuous road works on the 9, also two toll gates on the 9.. Take it easy & good luck, hope that was not too confusing!.

I use that exact same route everytime i visit Pat's, takes around 5 hours travelling at around 130km/hr on the express ways :)

Make sure when you pass the airport you keep left, if you miss the exit to Bang Pa-in your in for a long day :D

  12. This quiz in in the PPS format, 441 kB. As this format cannot be attached to a post, I have uploaded it here:

    dl.getdropbox.com/u/1934617/4-question%20quiz.pps

Have fun! (I only got the first question right)

Guess i shouldn't have tried it first thing on a Monday morning with a hangover..... yep, none out of four and i've a degree in engineering :D

Thats what 10 years in Thailand have done to my brain.... finally got it to relax :)

  13. I have just had a system installed that gives me all ubc platinum programs and programs from south Africa movies and 10 sports channels so i get all the uk sport football, F1, moto gp, cricket ect plus loads of other Thai and Chinese stuff it involves 3 satellite dishes being sited for a one off payment of 32,000bht no monthly fees if you pm me i can give you the phone no of the guy who did it for me i am sure he could give you the contact of someone in your area to install it for you

Hi, i'm v.interested in what you did and the number of the gut who did it.

    Where do you live ?

Am i right in assuming that its a one off payment for life of 32k ? ... no other fees at all ? It sounds too good to be true as i pay over 14k a year and it's pay for itself in just over 2 yrs :)

  15. Pattaya, August 24 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Monday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, over 250 local government officials attended an anti-corruption seminar which was opened by Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya and presented by Khun Nopadon, the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Commission Region 4. It was stressed that strict enforcement of anti-corruption legislation would mean that no one, regardless of their position in society would be able to avoid the law and it was the responsibility of local government leaders to ensure that corruption is not permitted within their area of responsibility.

  16. Hello all.

I would like your help please..........

My wife and I will be visiting Pattaya in a few weeks time with our two children aged 2 and 5.

I was wondering if you might know of places to visit for family days out for the times we are not on the beach.

    Thanks.... slippery

The underwater world is great for both you and the kids... i loved it that much i went twice and enjoyed it just as much the second time :)

  17. hi there,

does anyone know where I could buy Potatoes that would be good for English Chippy type chips please?

The ones I have tried seem to have too much sugar and go brown before they are cooked. I am looking for the ones that cook all the way through and stay soft not crispy, just like the ones back in England.

    thank you

Buy the usual Thai style potatoes, cut them into chip size pieces. Boil them for 10 minutes. Let them cool then put them into the fridge until cold then fry them as normally would.

Crisp on the outside and soft in the middle ... mmmmmmmmm :)

  18. Sausages and Bacon - Mr Moo, beside Big C on Sukhumvit and South Pattaya Road.

Music - Central and 2nd Road Corner - group of bars with a band playing at the back.

Leo Blues Bar - Soi Wongamat (18) Pattaya-Naklua Road (every night except Sunday)

Pops Place - 3rd Road - opposite Four Seasons Place - past Xzyte heading to South Pattaya Road

Tattoo Bar - between Soi 2 and Tiffanys (near Ibis Hotel)

Red and White Bar - between Soi 8 and 9 Jomtien

Utopia - Soho Square Walking Street (the Climax Band)

    Hotel - what price range?

Seems you know Pattayta well. Will have a look at Mr Moo's shop.

As for price renge... up to 550bt but woundering if there was any spacials on such as buy one day get one free. Heard a while back that with the recesion and low season that hotels were desperate so hoped someone might know of low price's or specials. Tried using google but no mention of special low season discounts.

Leo's blues bar sounds like what i'm looking for... will give it a go.... thanks for that, Carl.
