  1. OK, i have had the same thing happen to me. Its a long winded process but...

1st. Go to your local head of the area known as the 'poo yai barn'. Make your complaint, he/she will ask for this complaint to be in writing and in Thai. You will need 2 copies, 1 for the Tessa-barn office and 1 for the amphur office. He will submit these to them at the monthly meeting they have.

2nd. Go to the Tessa-barn office and make the same compaint and explain that you've seen the poo yai barn, they will log it into a big book.

3rd. Do the same as above at the Amphur office.

4th. Now go back to the poo yai barn and tell him what you've just done, saying that it will save him time ;). This will prevent him from going to the soap factory and 'brushing under the carpet' so as to speak.

What will happen now is, meetings will be held regarding the smell given off. You MUST say it is affecting your health (headaches and nausea). This will bring in a health inspector. He will visit, make sure you attend to assure no back hand tactics. This will then follow with further meetings where both parties submit their views etc etc. Never back down ! Eventually he was given notice, he failed to leave on the given time and was fined... then he left to another area with no home near by. I got 500baht compensation (lol) which i gave to the wat, the guy in question calmed down overnight and now talks to me as it nothing happened... go figure.

It helps to get local support for the meetings, others close by who dont like the smell, they dont have to say anything but it will go a long way to the authorities. All in all.. about 6 months ... unbelievable !

Just a note to all those who have posted that there is no 'legal' means to solve it... shut up, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about. It was the police who kicked him out having got a court order which basically said it was illegal to produce a chemical substance in a built up area.

  2. Lazada are a Thai online shopping company, often get their stuff from China but cuts out any problems with customs. Lazada guarentee no shipping problems.

I've had nightmares using aliexpress and carrier companies so if you use them insist on them sending it via China post... never had a problem.

Link to Lazada weight lifting equipment below :-

  3. I've been trying to find a bulk supplier of omega 3 fish oil capsules, @5-6000 capsules at a time for personnel use. Contact numerous suppliers on Aliexpress and Alibaba but their minimum order is @ 30,000 capsules at a time. So, is there anyone who buys them in large quantities and if so where from.

I used to get them from clubvits in England which is 96GBP per 6,000 capsules but its 79GBP postage.

    Any help appreciated.

I moved my personnel pension off shore some time ago and will be able to claim it when i soon reach 55 years old. My pension provider said i should be able to also claim a reduced state pension though after sifting through the UKGOV website for days cannot find an answer.

So, does anyone know if i can claim a reduced early UK state retirement pension and if so how ?

Apologies but it is not clear what your provider is saying. Are they suggesting that you can claim the state pension at the age 55 but reduced to account for early payment, or you can claim a state pension at age 66 reduced because of contracting/opting out for a period of time

My personnel provider said that as of April this year the early retirement state pension rules changed. He wasn't sure but said that he thinks i might be able to get my state pension at a reduced rate when i turn 55. I've since e-mail the pensions section of the UKgov website and am waiting their reply.

  6. The difference between using it and not is miles apart. Homemart ran out of insulation whaen i built my house and i had to do all but one bedroom. The entire house is cool but the spare bedroom was boiling hot, the heat radiated down onto your head and was very uncomfortable... walked back into the living room and instantly fealt the difference, for what it costs its worth every penny (or baht ;)).

  7. As ever, Richard is on the pulse but unfortunately there's still no definative answer from the Thai authoroties. Been down to the Amphur and the police station.... its all a grey area ! Seems everyone is sitting on the fence, they basically said if i dont upset anyone flying it then its o.k. .... but if you do .... errrrr, we dont know what we'll do !

  8. I live in a remote part of Thailand with big wide open spaces making it perfect for flying drones when such as fishing etc. So i did some research for a FPV (first person view) drone under $150. Thinking all i needed to do is type 'best drone under $150' into a search engine and bingo, there's the answer.... NOT ! The ammount of variations makes and models blew me away and the reviews depending on who you listened to varied dramatcally.

So, who has a FPV drone costing under 4,500 baht and what do you think of it ? Plus any recommendations etc would help.

Have looked on the web using Lazada, banggood and cdiscount to buy one and they have a huge selection making the choice even harder to narrow it down. Any help choosing would be greatly appreciated.

  9. Why is it the Thai's think that by saying 'sorry' its all over ? No charges, no fines no retrebution.

Earlier this year a Thai teenager shot my dog in my garden. The police caught him, brought him before me and he said 'sorry' and his mother basically said 'right, thats it, lets go'. I ended up having to get a layer involved.

Apologies are the same as crocodile tears over here and these guys should be charged and sent down sending out the proper message !

  10. I bought a survaillance system off Aliexpress. It has been sent by the vendor using DHL with a tracking number. I tracked it to Don Meuang airport where it has stopped and all i get is 'clearance event' posted on the online tracking information. Been there 5 days, each day the same.

Anyone else been in the same situation and if so is there anything i need to do ?

  11. I had a problem with Lazada. Bought a laptop advertised 'with' windows 8.1 but arrived blank (DOS). During very poorly worded English replies they eventually said... hard luck ! Seriously, they admitted their error and said if you dont want it send it back at your cost and we'll refund the money... provided the product and packing are in the same condition as it arrived. They were very slow, almost 3 weeks solving it...... ivadit for me from now on !!!
