  1. My pool in the rainy season has developed black dots all over. After looking around for the black algaecide treatments i found dramatic variations in price and type.

So, can anyone who has used the treatments or know of a supplier, post some treatment prices (including delivery to Phetchabun if pos) and how good they are (crystal and liquid).

    Thanks in advance, C.

  2. My sister in law had it done an an Toyota Altis and you don't notice the performance loss so much, but she had an accident and borrowed our spare Yaris, which I think is pretty cheap to drive and said it was way more expensive than her car, ..... So she has a much more economical, larger ect. car and seemed even happier for doing it after she borrowed the Yaris ! lol

CNG or LPG, 1600,1800 or 2000cc?

Its a 2000cc model and i'm looking at LPG though either will do.

  3. I've got a Honda CR-V i-vtec model and am thinking about getting it converted to gas as its only 8.5 baht/liter. But, the only one i've ever seen or driven with the conversion seemed sluggish to say the least. As i dont know if it was like this before the conversion i'd like some reviews from those that have had it done and how it effected their performance and distance per liter of fuel. I've read that its around about a 10-15% drop in power output but would be interested to know if after its done how much you really notice it.

Also, how much does it cost. I'm thinking about getting the 'doughnut' shaped one that fits under the mat in the back as its out of site and dont want to be unaware when they offer me the 'farang' price first :whistling: .

Plus, anyone know where to get it done in either.... north end of Bangkok (Rangsit area), Saraburi, Lopburi or Phetchabun as i live out in the sticks.

    Thanks in advance, C.

  4. Hi - here another great supplement fan - been taking multi-vits since the 80's

and my hair is still black at 65 - obvious scientific proof ! I'm just a freak really.

Another health+appearance obsession: I've been what they now call 'moisturizing'

since i started to steal my wife's Nivea for the old face as early as 1968 - ahead

of my time or what !

Right, to the topic - I use BIOVEA mail order for everything - pay fast with Paypal -

and best of all, they post to Thailand from wherever they are FREE if the invoice

total is over 29 quid - and I have never paid Tax on stuff coming into LOS through

2009 / 2010. Maybe it's something to do with their packaging, don't know.

Anyway, don't know if live links work in here, but here's BIOVEA if they do >>>

    http://www.biovea.ne...45))/index.aspx

I have no interest in the company, and can honestly recommend their service from

my own long-term experience with them.

Obviously, if the link fails, just Google : BIOVEA

By the way, I've also bought Centrum in LOS and you are right, it IS over-priced.

Had a look at the link you posted, seems to be what i'm looking for... many thanks :D

  5. I've been buying 'Centrum' multivitamins and 'Mega fish oil' capsules since i got here (10 years now) and have yet to find any cheaper. Yet they are way more expensive than in the UK. Thought about mail order from such as e-bay which i've done with many other things but last time i received my mail order i had to pay 'tax' on it of over 2000 baht. This would make ordering multi vitamins none viable, so, does anyone know any cheaper versions or a better way to get them ?

  6. Thanks to everyone for their input. When i contacted truevisions a few weeks ago they said they were NOT showing it. But, in truevisions fashion they say they ARE now showing it and have just started to advertise it on their website at this address - http://www.truevisionstv.com/enhance.aspx?enhance_id=1182

I know its an obvious saying for this but, "TiT", at least we only have to wait 2 weeks to get the footie season up and running.... come on you gunners !!!

  7. I'm on a married visa and have been here 10 years. Never missed a report to immigration. But,my 90 day reporting of address is on the 27th, a bank holiday and the 26th is a bank holiday too. Yes, i forgot to check.

Just looked a few posting on this forum and noticed a lot of members saying you get a 7 day leeway. If this is so, can i still post it on the 28th to arrive on the 29th (2 days late) and still be o.k. or do i have to drive the 2 1/2 hours to my immigration office and pay a fine ?

Any advise would be appreciated. :D

  8. On my August notes, I have August 14 blocked as "International Fireworks Festival" being held in Pattaya at Soi 4. It is tied to the Queen's birthday.

Run this google search and you will get everything you need:

    http://www.google.com/search?q=international+fireworks+festival+pattaya+august&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Try this link its to a calendar of events taking place all over Thailand including the fireworks competition in Pattaya.

  9. My swimming pool has suddenly started to get these 1" wide solid black marks appearing all over. I've done the water test and its the same as always. They are smooth dome shaped and can only be removed by chiseling them off.

Does anyone know of a chemical solution that will remove these dots and why they've suddenly started to appear ? :ermm:

  10. Can anyone let me know what channel, if any, other than the 'HD' channel you can watch the world cup on. I've got the magazine and i've checked on their website but can only see it being aired on channel 111, TSHD.

I have the 'gold' package to watch the premiership games and was wondering if this gets you the HD channel. When i tune into the HD channel i just get "searching for signal" box come up, so cannot tell if i get this channel or its a 'pay by view' channel. If the gold package doesn't get me the HD channel, can someone let me know how much it costs. I e-mailed them weeks ago and more recently without reply, (no surprise) so any help on the matter would be appreciated.

  11. I only use currency solutions now as they are 'superb'. Fast and a way better rate than anywhere i've ever tried. They are very professional and tag your transfer so you can ring them anytime and they'll tell you where your transfer is and how long it should take. Last time i transferred i went to my bank (Bangkok bank) and they said it hadn't arrived yet, so there and then i rung currency solutions and they said to give the phone to the teller. 2 minutes later they had 'suddenly found the transfer and the funds had cleared !

Plus i got 4 baht to the pound better rate than my bank in England and no fee's !
