First off, if there is a thread for this please post the link as i cannot find one (but i'm sure there is).
I've been using Dory fish frozen from Makro's but its become tasteless and textureless and all there seems to be when cooked is the batter or breadcrumbs. 15 years ago i lived in Bangkok and you could buy Red snapper fillets which were the best i've had whilst in Thailand but now i've moved up north cannot find it anywhere.
So, the question is, what fish do you use ? or am i doing something wrong with my dory fish fillets such as not 'priming' them right ? do you need to do something to the fillets first ?
Plus, in Makro's there are many different fish types, whats your view on them not just for fish and chips but variations of cooking.

DELL Call Center: 02-670-7250 Monday-Friday, 09:00-18:00
I had my dell's mb, ram and hdd replaced for free by dell thailand. I called up the call center and contacted the operator. After providing them the service tag number found under the base of the laptop, and telling them about the problem, they sent a couple of guys to my place the next day.
I bought my laptop in the US and was still under warranty.
It was some two years ago. Things may have changed.
Why don't you give them a call on Monday? I remember the auto thing responds with a long list of 'press x for y' but you will get to a human eventually...
Best wishes.
tnx, will give it a try Monday.

thanks 4 the replies but still in the same hole, .... does Dell even care about Thailand ?
-
I have a Dell XPS702X laptop that after a quick power cut will no longer work. Power is not getting through. Took it to a local reputable repair place and after a couple of days they had no idea how to repair it. So, have been on another computer to find the Dell service centre location in Thailand, thought that all I'd need to do is google it, no help there. Cannot even find an email address for them. The Dell.th website just gets you running in circles.
So, does anyone know where to take a Dell laptop for repair or contact info for a Dell shop or service centre ?, has anyone had a Dell laptop repaired over here ? (preferably in either Phetchabun, Saraburi, lopburi or northern end of Bangkok but, hey ho, anywhere really).

Always makes me laugh, 65k/month for retirement visa supporting one person and 40k/month for marriage visa supporting two people.... where's the logic in that ???
What form do you need for retirement visa ? and does thaivisa have a tick list for things to take with you to immigration to get the visa ?

Have been on a marriage visa for ten years now but the last three visits the immigration police have asked me to change it to a retirement visa. I'm quite nervous about doing this as I'm a firm believer in 'if its not broken, don't fix it'. As I've never been refused or even close to it I've continued with my usual marriage visa but the last visit he basically said 'last time, next time retirement', then looked me in the eye.
So, is it easier as he say's and is there much difference in the requirements ?

I've 3 tables, evenly spaced with tables and chairs in between. Its all enclosed, quiet and has lit parking space. The police love it as it quiet and well maintained unlike the sheds the other 'snooker halls' have. Also, my CCTV has a camera pointing down the soi which the police asked for and its caught 2 robbers already using the night vision... its just the army who's causing me the probs. Time for a fair election and not a dictatorship forged down the barrel of a gun.
actually all the army is doing is ensuring you are a legal entity, obviously you are not and the police have been taking payments? to supply a worhtless piece of paper. You cannot bitch about the army making you become legal, that is what you should have done originally, maybe if you had checked out the laws and not relied on the local bib with their hands out you wouldnt be in this position. I am sorry for the mess you are im but trying to blame the people that found out you are illegal isnt the answer, thats like shooting someone then saying you didnt know the gun was loaded.
You should be well aware that you need to follow the laws here especially if you are a farang, not checking it out thoroughly when you opened is solely on you I am afraid, mate you just have to cop that you did the wrong thing and it is your own fault when it boils down to it. Just buy a licence and be legal then they will leave you alone, simple but the bib will still want their regular donations no doubt.
How can you say that when the army took charge.... wait for it................ ILLEGALLY !!!! They forced the legally ellected government out and told us they are in charge.... or else, plus i got the police in to check everything was legal and they said it was.... who am i to disagree with the law ? and how do you check much further than asking the law ? and who said i'm relying on the local BIB with their hands out ? i'm not. I'm in deep sh*t, today i was in a meeting with thw Amphur, police, a soliciter and the tessabarn to help sort it out. We used every peice of information available and it turns out that even with a licence you can only have one table and on that they weren't even 100%
Please dont go critisicing me on your assumptions... get your facts right and try to help C.

The 190,000baht is to buy a licence for life, you can sell them on with the snooker hall as a guy in town who bought a hall has one. He showed me it but hasn't a clue where it was obtained from. You can also close your snooker hall and sell the licence seperately which is what we are trying to do right now, driving around to various districts and enquiring if anyone has one and wants to sell. We came close but with the army doing what they are doing right now they have become a very sought after item.
-
Owned a snooker hall for many years without any problems. I live in a small village in the heart of Thailand and its always been peaceful..... until the army took over. They have been going round all business's checking every detail and ruining peoples livelyhood for minor infringements.
They came to my snooker hall. As the army captain went round it he became more and more irritated at the fact i had nothing illegal going on. All CD's had receipts, alchohol licence up to date, taxes paid up to date etc etc. He even wanted to see an insureance cetificate which i actually had because i have petrol pumps ot side which need to be insured and the guy that did it said that he would include accident cover with it for just another 700Bt, so i did.
This went on for an hour, very tense. The police turned up and said they had checked the hall last month and found it to be totally legal and everything was in order. The captain basically told them to shut up. Things became way more tense. He began pushing people against the wall and asking for ID, he then told me to get against the wall, i refused saying i'd done nothing wrong and if he made me i'd report him and show the CCTV footage i've got to his superiors. He then noticed the camera's and backed down.
Just as he was abut to leave he asked to see the letter from the police. He realised it wasn't a legal licence and just permission to allow to play. We then got 'marched' in to his truck and tacken to the police station and charged with running a snooker hall without a licence which carries a maximum sentence of 3 months in jail. Fortunately for us the police went to court and spoke on our behalf and we got of with a small fine.
We have been trying to find out how to get the required licence but even the police dont know how and every snooker hall they know of hasn't got one (and that runs into the hundreds) the Amphur doesn't even know. The only person who seemed to 'think' they know is the company who change the table cloth when it gets worn. We called the number of the firm they gave us and they said it would cost..... 190,000 baht !!! When we told the police this they said it was a gaming licence which covers every game such as snooker and arcade games.
So, does anyone know how to get a snooker hall licence ? until then i'm closed.

Can I ask what is a MT70 ?
Yamaha MT-70 is a sports cruiser, 689cc. Google it.

Have bought a bike through thaivisa classified ads. An MT-70 from Chiang Mai which the seller said he would include delivery. I then got an e-mail from the logistics company as follows :-
Your thoughts please as i've never heard of this.
Dear client,We wish to bring to your knowledge concerning the delivery. We are done with all the documents but we want to seek your notice about your insurance fees which is 50 000 bt. This insurance is been asked by Thai insurance department. This policy states that foreigners have to insure and guarantee their property before or after engaging in business. This document will be asked upon or along the delivery at any check point of check up. We have been notified by the ministry of transport that the bike needs an insurance. This a new insurance policy that has been implemented by the new Law governing the Kingdom. We the RSA, knows that the bike has an insurance and we made it clear to the Ministry but the new Thai law states that two foreign parties dealing within the Kingdom in terms of Business must abide to this insurance policy. The RSA, has come to compromise about this policy to get a refundable insurance fee which states that,-The Buyer shall make payment of 50,000bt which is a refundable fee upon delivery of the bike and documents.-This refundable insurance will be documented and shown to customs on check points in other for ease transportation of the bike.-The insurance will be shown to the customs letting them know that we are heading to Bangkok to get a new insurance for the bike. But we just doing this to bypass the custom meanwhile your 50,000bt will be refunded to you upon delivery and signing of the documents. Thanks for your understanding and awaiting for the approval of payment so that we send to you payment details.Kind regardsManagementh -

Got a Forza 300..... absolutely love it
-
Forgot to add, i'm after getting a decent second hand one (NOT new), proberbly a Forza for @130k baht or an almost new PCX.... depends on the reviews.
-
I live in a remote part of Thailand were all the dealers only have mopeds up to 150cc in them. I have a Honda superfour 400. A year ago had a serious car crash and now get back ache when riding over 20km's. A lad i know recently bought a Honda PCX 150 and give me a go on it. I thought it was great, very comfortable and zero ache's after. The only disapointment i could find was the 105 kph top end. So i got to searching the net for slightly larger models. Found the following, Forza 300, Skywave 400, Majesty 250 and T-max 500.
Would like your views on them plus any other big scooters out there, review including soi use, long distances, comfort, practicallity, economy and anything else you'd like to add.I would like to get a feel for them before travelling to go and buy one and i find reviews from people who have owned one for a while as opposed to some guy from a review site that has been given one for a day to try out is way better.
