  1. Hi,

i'm thinking of getting 2nd hand car and have been checking out many dealers in Bangkok. Mostly all the dealers has finance program under GE Money thailand (http://www.gemoney.co.th).

They charge up to 6% interest based on the car. I'm not sure whether i'll go for GE money. The dealers told me , with my passport, wp, bank statement, pay slip and thai guarantor i would be able to take loan.

i heard there are many hidden cost in this program.

    does anybody has any idea?

    thanks.

  2. Hello,

i was thinking of getting a very old(1989) peugeot. The engine seems to be okie with LPG but the interior sucks. i'll have to change almost everything inside the car except the seat.

Now question is, where can i put a new decor? any shop in bkk? how much it may cost? any idea?

    thanks so much

  3. Dear all,

in my interview with the counselor, she wanted to see a letter from the Ministry of labour even though i showed the receipt that i'm getting work permit by next week. Now my office will send me the letter from the ministry by email .

The counselor also wanted to see my education certificate which i don't have. As i have stated earlier that i studied in thailand for 6/7 years but didn't finish the degree. I worked for last few years with education visa without having to go to the class.

now the counselor wants the letter from the ministry of labor which i can manage. but how about the certificate? if they don't see the certificate they might ask what did you do in bkk for so long with education visa?

    extremely tense....any idea...

  4. Hello All,

i'm back in Bangladesh for my non imm "B" visa. I have mostly all my papers ready from my company including wp3 form reciept where it sayz to collect the work permit on dec 12th. I couldn't collect my WP as my visa was ending so i had to come back. My company will send the WP if needed. Only thing i worry is that i don't have degree yet.

After thai embassy collected my papers (didn't take my passport), they called me for an interview which is completely new for me.

Now i'm death nervious about this interview!!! Any tips guys?

  5. Hi,

i was just wondering if it is possible to change non-imm ED visa to non-imm B visa by not going to the home country?

The company that i'm working are eligible to provide work permit. They have a staff who has work permit. They can provide me with all the necessary documents to get non-imm B visa.

    1. i'm Bangladeshi citizen.

    2. My visa (non-imm ED) ending on the 4th of December.

    3. My company has a good reputation and can provide all the necessary papers.

    My questions:

is it possible to change the visa in this short period of time by not visiting the home country and extend it? can sunbelt help? if then how much would they charge?

It seems i can easily make it done by visiting my country with all the papers. but i'm worried about the time and fuss. I really need to work in this period of the time for my company and get work permit asap.

i have been posting about this in this thread.

the new HR team of my company doesn't know anything even though foreigners with work permit are working here. so i want to make sure i have all the papers in my hand.

    I'm just really tense,

  7. Dear all,

    long story short,

    1. i'm on a student visa(non-imm) for long long time.

    2. i still haven't finished my bachelor degree in bkk.

    3. recently i joined a company and they are willing to give me work permit. It is a medium size company about 50 thai's working. they have got one foreigner for who they issued work permit. He is working there for 2 years.

    4. They applied for work permit for me but it is refused coz i don't have business visa, and my passport is student passport. so they suggested me to go back to my country and get business visa. they will provide me all the papers.

    5. my visa expiring on 4th december 07.

    5. i'm a bangladeshi citizen.

    now my questions:

    1. i'm scared that thai embassy in bangladesh will not provide me visa as i'm staying here for long with student visa still haven't completed bachelor degree.

    2. My company is very clean on tax issue, has huge transaction every month and has high revenue. what sort of papers do i need to carry while facing business visa in Bangladesh ?

    3. is there any way i could change the visa status by not going back to my country ?

  8. Hello All,

i'm on education visa for long time in bangkok. Recently i was offered a job and i'm thinking of joining them. But i haven't finished my bachelor yet so wondering whether or not i'll be eligible to get the work permit. My company told me they will support me with all the documents. They are aware of my current situation.

This company is small about 50 thai's working there. I'll be their first foreigner.

My visa ending in december and i'm Bangladeshi citizen.

Is it important to have degree in order to get work permit?

    thanks.

  9. well, nobody is talking abt the lagging that u might face.......i watched the game on my Tv but tried to listen the commentary on the web. I have adsl connection and i haven't faced any buffering. But the game on Tv and the tempo of web commentary doesn't go concurrently so it might be few seconds behind or ahead. For example, when i was watching the Argentina match, they already scores a goal but the commentary was still busy in explaining the passing. :o

    quite annoying....

.......Thai authority should broadcast the english commentary on the Radio perhaps...

  10. HI,

thanks for your reply.....yes i've been studying here for 4 years and i'm going out of thailand for short period. i've valid visa until december 06 and ya it is extended for period of 12 months every year.

I need to know since i haven't addressed the 90 days report after i renewed my visa in december. It has already passed 90 days and i'm leaving day after tomorrow.

Now do i have to report 90 days and pay the panalty at the imm office? or i just leave the country without any problem and report my 90 days after i return back......

what should i do?? thanks so much..

  11. HI,

i'm a student in bangkok and i'm holding non-imm education visa. I have renewed my visa mid of december 05 and my visa expires in dec06. But ever since i've renewed my visa, i haven't filled the application for 90 days thing. Now i'm visiting my country for songkran holiday. I'll be returning back after a week or so.

So do i still need to go imm office to fill application for 90 days? do i need to pay panalty for late? if, how much?

or i don't at all need to fill application for 90 days since i'm going out of the country?

I really want to avoid all the problems before hand.

    very confused here.

    Plz help

    thanks in advance,

    regards,

    Sunny

  12. hi,

    some more questions..

I cant extend my visa from my university for sure as registration time is already over...To work here anyway i have to change my visa status......

If you wanted to change your Non Ed to a "B" visa you must have Visa validity of at least 21 days left. You only have 19 days. Now you'll need to go outside the country to get a single entry 90 day non B visa. We at Sunbelt can put all the documents and letter together. Our professional fee is 1,000 Baht plus 7% VAT.
Im from Bangladesh and thai embassy in Bangladesh is real pain in the a**. Is there any chance of getting rejected while applying for "B" visa?

Ok,lets say i got the 90 days visa and work permit..how do i extend my visa again?do i have to leave the kingdom again??

    • CV or Resume showing application’s educational qualifications and describing in detail the applicant’s past position, duties, performance, and place and length of employment.

AS i mentioned earlier, i havent' finish my degree yet....i don't have certificate...what is my option?

CAn sunBelt fully cooperate with me regarding the papers?

  13. HI,

i have been studying here in bangkok for 5 years..i have non-imm visa not sure what type yet. I haven't finished my degree yet but intend to work due to my financial problem. Now i have been doing some part time projects(softwares) for this thai company and they are willing to take me full-time. They are fully supportive to give me Work permit and asked me to get info about it since they have never recruited any foreigner b4.

    Now some questions..

    1. This company is medium size about 50 thai employees working. My company is willing to pay for my work permit and will take full responsibility.

    2. I have no university degree yet, finished 90 credits out of 137 credit. But now i'll work full time and study part time as i'm getting old and lack of money.

    3. my visa is expiring on the 4th of dec 2005. Need to get work permit/visa b4 that for sure. I haven't registered for the new semester otherwise i could have exdended my visa. But not happening now.

I'm from south asia, 27 years of age, question is...am i eligable to get work permit??....can i get it in 2 weeks? If it is late somehow can i extend my visa?

how to start all these process?

    thanks in advance.....
