It is really a good car. My friend from The Nation who is a motor journalist, often gets cars for test drive for week before he writes his feedback in the Nation. He drove pajero with me on daokanon high way. He was driving at 170 km/h, very smooth and great control. Not much noise like dmax. Acceleration is good.

It's possible to get a meter taxi in Phuket town, about 200 baht (maybe less) to Patong. But Tuk Tuk mafia rule in Patong and meter taxis cannot cruise for fares. Maybe you could phone the meter taxis to be collected in some low profile spot in Patong, if the driver is brave enough.

hmmm i better hire a car. I checked it is around 1200 baht per day which is okai. I have thai license/ work permit so shouldn't be a problem. if i go to patong, perhaps i can park in the shopping center near patong which i have seen on google map.

But do i have to be depended on tuk tuk mafia from airport to my hotel?

sunny747, this hotel looks quite respectacle to my eyes. I don't think you have any worries about this hotel. Just use common sense and best to lock your PC away. Day time you can get a public bus to Patong for 30 baht. Buses stop at 18.00 and taxis can be a real rip off price, as much as 500 baht, or more.

Sorry to make you concerned regarding security, you should be o.k. As far as I know, it is not a "short-time-sex" hotel. But be smart regarding your laptop. I wouldn't leave it in the room, if you have to leave it behind, check it at the front desk and have somebody sign for it.

I tried to save money and it never happens. I just spend it somewhere and later i don't even realize it. I'm a foreigner here hence i won't be getting any bank loan so getting things on installment is out of question. Like my Thai staff, just gets 12 grand a month and manages to drive better car than me.

Nevertheless, this is the only modification i'll do . And it is wise to modify old cars than new one. I wouldn't dare to touch engine of a new car. It will cost me a lot.

i need some information from you guys once again. I'm about to install Header for my car in order to get some horse power. As i already have good muffler so a header might be good as per the garage guy.

10 grand for racing shocks as i went to lancer shop. This garage modifies only mitsubishi lancer in general. And he has got lots of stocks for lancer parts both old and new.

He charged 1 grand for each wheel to change the bearing for my old car. Please note my car is almost 15 years old but in good condition. i'm not sure he will work with other cars but in his garage, all what i see is lancer and lancer.

He can speak fairly good english and pro racer in Thailand. He owns his garage and modifies cars. Any of you interested, ask for K Tum at soi 43 (soi next to lotus) , rama 9 road. His garage is right at the corner linked to rama 9 road.
