  1. Hello all,

i'm going to Chiang Rai for a meeting. This is going to be my first time.

i'm want to go Chiang rai from Chiang Mai by bus or van. does anybody has any idea where in Chiang mai i shall get the bus?

what is the most convenient way to travel around Chiang rai city? can i get a taxi ?

i want to go Moo 5, Rimkok sub district in Chiang Rai.

i'll fly to bkk on the same day.

    thanks for any input.

  2. thanks for the replies.

i still have the guarantee. due to increase of fuel price, i see lots of car converting to LPG in that shop near abac ramkhamheang. so they have less time to work on my car. My thai is not the best so explaining is also very difficult.

is there any way i can explain them visually ? wht do you say "relay" in thai?

    thanks again.

  3. Hello, i have installed the new automatic energy lpg on my car a month ago. It was running very good till yesterday. I have noticed it automatically switches to fuel-to-lpg-to-fuel-to-lpg number of times while driving. I went to lpg shop again and they said it's an engine problem due to lpg system as it is an old car. But when i went to my garage they said engine is perfectly alright.

i'm confused now. what could be the problem? any ideas?

    thanks.

  4. very informative thread for those who are driving on LPG.

yes culicine, they have also changed the spark plugs to a LPG suitable one....The tuning was totally done by computer...i have seen all the gauge meter on the monitor.......so far it's running really good..

and thanks to warpspeed for your input. I have never driven my car on benzine....i think since i have converted already, i should use Benzine.

just wanna ask you, can i switch to Benzine from LPG and LPG to Benzine while on the run? ........till now i'm parking on the sideline and changing it just to be careful.

  5. I was just searching on lpg systems and came upon a few threads.

For the sequential injection systems, is there any particular standout? There are many brands, energy reform, AC-stag, stefanelli, etc. Is any particular brand recommended or should be avoided? What I would be looking for is one that can be fine tuned to run properly. It would be nice to have some unbiased reviews of these systems from any of our readers.

Can anyone recommend a fitter/tuner in the Nonthaburi area?

Also does anyone know if the electronic flashlube kit is available in thailand? I've only seen their basic minikit.

    Thanks in advance..

i don't know what you are talking about but i'm aware of two brands...energy and versus............

energy cost 28500 baht and versus cost 24500 baht. I have just converted it few days ago and pretty happy with it. About 5% power loss but you can always switch to fuel if you need to speed. At the moment, i'm driving on LPG for long distance but i always drive on fuel for short distance and this way i keep balance.

you can check this website http://www.versusthailand.com and find the nearest dealer to your place. They also provide certification and warranty for 2 years. I have used my Kbank credit card and got installment 0% for six month. They use computer for tuning.

I think with the new system, i can save at least 60% of my budget on fuel cost.

  6. hello all, i know this topic has been discussed many times but those threads are old already. and my case is little different.

i'm driving an old car, Lancer Mitsubishi which has 4g63na 2.0 Lit strong engine. since i drive around bkk a lot so wondering if i convert to LPG or NGV is worth for me.

But i can't decide which one to go for. I know quite lot about LPG. I know the LPG subsidiary is under jeopardy and may change any time. However, Government promoting NGV so converting to NGV could be the best idea.

But it cost a lot. around 50K. and i'm not sure it will be worth for my old car. I drive 60km a day on the highway. I plan to keep my car for next 3 years.

what you guys say? LPG or ngv and why?

    thanks so much.

  7. There's a Thai company called Versus Thailand - they have a website - I don't know when they were formed but they've certainly expanded and have shops all over Thailand suddenly Bangkok-Chiang Mai. Until the 31st they've got a promotion on LPG installation and offer 0%/10 month on credit cards. I think there must be something behind this push; it's long been speculated if/when the LPG subsidy will be altered, as particularly as LPG grew in popularity after 2008, this now seems inevitable, due to the costs involved and the rate at which the fuel fund is being depleted. The government is backing NGV (subsidized still but not as much as LPG), all new bi-fuel cars come with NGV none with LPG, where as if you look at the global situation LPG is the more established gas for transportation. Yet with the subsidy removed or even just reduced it wouldn't be economically viable. It's worth discussing this again as the arguments held in 2007-8-era threads are no longer valid and different problems are faced.

hi, thanks so much. your information is correct. I just called the company and they confirmed me about the Kbank credit card promotion. however, it is quite expensive at 30K whereas i could easily get it at 24k in other shop.

my car is old and 2.0 cc. i don't have plan to change my car and would drive at least for next 3 years.

so wondering is LPG or NGV good for me. i'll drive in Bangkok city.

i don't have any idea bout NGV.

    thanks.

  8. Hi garyh and transam...thanks for your reply...appreciate it..

well, there is no noise of air sucking...things look very smooth...

i have also noticed, RPM improves (while AC on) when the engine is hot.

In the morning especially, i just can't hit the ac button. I need to drive few minutes before rev goes high.

still not sure about the problem....

  9. my car has 4g63na engine with 2.0 cc. Recently it had an annoying whining noise and garage guy changed some Belt and it was okie. But after that, i feel the RPM drops when i turn on the AC. sometimes i feel like the engine will stop.

Usually, RPM remains on 1000 but drops to 500 when AC on. Sometimes it fluctuates to 200 while shifting gear and car shakes for few seconds then again RPM goes up to 500. My my ac works fine and it is very cool.

I feel the engine has not been tuned well or the ECU is not compensating the energy loss while the AC is on.

    what do you guys think?

The garage that i go, i have seen them tuning the engine with some screw driver manually but never used any computer to access the ECU.

does Mitsubishi service center has any service for tuning only?

    thanks.

  10. thanks for your reply. Few years ago, i used to take macro pics with sony cyber shot. it used to fulfill my purpose but i had to spend a lot of time to edit it by adobe photoshop (getting rid of the noise). So to take and process one pic has taken at least 20 to 25 minutes.

about the lighting, i used home made lighting system, not really difficult with LED these days.

Getting Nikon d3100 kit lens and reverse ring may help, not really sure about it.

But i'm sure there are some compact digi cam for macro photography .....i just don't know which one.

    thanks again.

  11. hello all, i'm new in photography. i want to take macro photo as small as gems and stone photo's for my online business. I want to capture the stunning beauty of gems or diamonds.

one thing i have in mind is to get the new Nikon d3100 and get cheap reverse lens ring.........but the whole project will cost me around 25k baht i guess.

beside Dslr camera, is there any compact digital camera especially designed for macro photography which i can find in Bangkok?

    any input would be appreciated.

    thanks

  12. Hello All,

  13. hi all,

i would like to reopen this discussion.

now gasohol 91 is way cheap. i think around 2.50 baht cheaper than gasohol 95.

i've been using gasohol 95, but i'm not sure whether i can just put gosohol 91 and run the car.

has anybody switched to gasohol 91?

  14. hi,

In the morning, when the engine is cold, i can't turn on the AC. After driving for at least 20 minutes, i can turn on the AC. and it works fine rest of the day.

otherwise, RPM drops and engine shuts especially while changing gear.

AC works fine when the engine is hot. it gets pretty cool also.

what could be the problem? is it engine tuning problem or something to do with the computer system?

i just want to know the problem before i take it to garage.

    thanks.
