  1. Rudyard Kipling had this down pat and this quoted from a well worn torn yellowed Lucy's Tiger Den business card

Now it is not wise for the Christian white

    To hustle the Asian brown.

For the Christian wiles, and the Asian smiles,

And he weareth the Christian down.

And the end of the fight

    Is a tombstone white,

With the name of the late deceased,

And the epitaph drear, "A fool lies here,

Who tried to hustle the East."

    RIP

    Tiger Rydeberg

  2. From a recent topic, it appears that there are two types of farang here that make their homes in Thailand.

    1. Farangs that are treated well, if not adored.

    2. And the second group, farangs that feel resented, oppressed, and (dare I say it) HATED.

Clearly this calls for a wardrobe policy, as my Thai family and friends have problems distinguishing the two farang groups without some visual clues.

Staring on July 1, those farangs that are hated will wear Homer Simpson jerseys. Color BROWNISH-PINK to conceal the puke stains.

All others will wear clothes that are appropriate for normal people.

** We have evacuation plans for a third group of farangs that apparently have been singled out for persecution by novice monks. They should continue to wear Speedos with matching black socks until the human rights task force completes their investigation.

Someone here has flipped out pick a colour??

  3. 3 year old boy drowns in swimming pool just outside of Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- A tragic story now from a luxury house in Bang Saray located just outside of Pattaya. Local Police were called to the house on Tuesday Morning to investigate the drowning of a 3 year old child. At the scene, Police were met by Khun Boonreung aged 41, who is the mother of the child and housekeeper at the property. She was understandably distraught and was being comforted by friends and the owner of the house,

Indeed a tragedy for a kid so young and breaks my heart and should not have happened. RIP Kid

  4. From my humble experience for a train trip in Thailand to where-ever one should always be prepared.

    A roll of toilet tissue.

    Some bottled drinking water.

    A good book.

    A flashlight.

    Mosquito repellant.

    Some food and fruit.

Some bags for garbage disposal at destination.

    Immodium capsules.

    In case of overnight train.

Paper towels, tooth brush/paste, soap, comb.

    Spare set of underwear.

  5. Meanwhile the UK and Aussie stooges rot in jail, sorry-o boys Thaksin does not give a flying fark about you halfwits.

FYI. it is the decision of Thai courts to grant bail or not. Thaksin have nothing to do with it.

    how witty you are?

Do not misinterpret. Yes it is a Thai court decision. The comment you refer to opinions that the farangs cited would be regarded as (to put it politely) collateral damage by the Thaksin forces...though an unfortunate embarrassment nonetheless.

Thaksin has a Lot to do with the issue as we all know he is bankrolling this entire circus

  6. Hi Mercury, yes, the attraction of PR diminishes by the second, especially since those who applied 4 years ago are still waiting for their approvals <img src="http://static.thaivisa.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

It's true that I have no real issues in extending my non-imm O visa until my son is aged 21 years - unless the visa goalposts are moved again.

It would seem that the best thing that I can be doing - if anyone asks - is to be 'answering emails' on my laptop...

Simon, What happens when your son reaches 21 years old?
