My only experience in recent times: A mate was here on visa exempt, left 7 days late to Japan for 2 months. He returned the October 3, exempt again and no questions were asked of him on being stamped in at Suvarnabhum Obviously it’s up to the IO, just passing on info

I chose my wife as she is reasonbly independant and she wasn't looking for someone to guide her through life. She is inquisitive, can be head strong, earns her own money and insulates me from 'taking care' of the family. But, as stated, she still likes to take the back seat in the decision process regarding home life, and knows what her role is as a wife, she has openly admitted that trying to change this makes her feel uncomfortable.

It was initially listed @ 7, came down to 6 then we negotiated for 5. it sat for 12 months after the build and we bought in 2020 so I’d say coronavirus played a part. We vendor financed. 3mil baht deposit with 1mil over 3 years @ 2% with a 1mil balloon at the end. The vendor came to us inside a year asking for the balloon payment early as they needed money to plow into their plastic factory, I negotiated a further 300000฿ discount. I paid the final amount owing last month, a year early. Worked well for us. I understand people’s reservations with purchasing in their wife’s name but it comes down to a case by case basis. My wife comes from a genuinely good family, no children & University educated. I married her when She was 25 years old and paid no sin sod. Intellectually we are on a similar level and we share the same outlook on life and the future, and she puts me first. Before herself, before mum & dad, before friends. She’s hands down the best woman I’ve ever met in any country. 4 years together now and I’ve never been happier -

I’m only 44 but I’m certainly over the bar scene. I was I Pratumnak then I bought a house with my wife in Huay Yai. Little bit of land, pool, decent garage, and only 25mins from LK Metro should it take my fancy. 400m2 land, 145m2 3 bed, 3bath house 4.65m down from 7m. Best thing I’ve done since living in Thailand -
One implant with one crown. The initial cost was 54000 baht but I needed a bone graft (I think it was called) as it has been infected for quite some time and damaged the bone, this added 15000 to the cost. The price also included a plate with a fakey so I didn’t look like a dead beat, well less than usual anyway It was done over a period of 3 or 4 months, all included in the initial quote, and the service and care I felt was as good as I’ve had anywhere in the past in Aus You can certainly get cheaper but I figured it’s my front tooth and I hope it’ll be there for some time with no issues so the little extra cost gave me some reassurance, placebo effect or not doesn’t matter to me

Markets shake out
MadMuhammad replied to Sparktrader's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I started moving to a much higher than usual cash position in September/October ‘21 as I thought the writing was on the wall. Paid my house off, my only debt, and ensured I have at least 3 years living costs transferred to Thailand at around 24฿/AUD to hedge against any serious foreign exchange movements. Now it’s just a matter of how long and deep this bear will run. I’m not buying into the end of the world as many are calling for. Consumers will continue to consume, supply chain pressure will relax eventually and the energy crisis will abate. Just gotta strap in, reassess my budget, trim some frivolous spending and wait it out. -
Moving to thailand, storage etc

I sold my house, gave my car and furniture to my mum, sold my Duc, stored all my tools with her as well and ditched just about everything else. It was one of the most exhilarating and personally fulfilling things I have ever done. Arrived in Thailand with the thoughts of renting only, everything, and living a bare bones life. That lasted 2 and a half years haha now married, bought a house, bought another Duc, got a drift car and bought a new daily recently. You can, and most likely will, accumulate more junk. Learn to let go, life takes on a whole new leaving releasing yourself from baggage -

I’m guessing they installed a relay with a direct feed to the lights from the battery, switched by the standard headlight switch and loom. It makes quite the difference giving the bulbs a ‘clean’ power feed

I recently had an implant done at Dental Design on Pattaya 10 2nd Road. I was very happy with the service and professionalism during the whole experience. Maybe a little more expensive than many ‘budget’ clinics but it’s my mouth, it’s gonna be there a long time the Dental Design Center - 038 111 844 https://goo.gl/maps/7Y1FAMZECcXV6TW96
